Hamtaro was really good for what it was, really wish they had finished dubbing it. The two adventure games it spawned (Ham hams unite and Ham ham heartbreak) were equally as entertaining.
It gets a lot better about twenty episodes in.

Aww yeah. Naruto/Toonami tonight. Been hyped all week thanks to AS running the ad a lot. Can't wait.
Tonight on Toonami, Bleach warps back 8 weeks, Seina meets up with Kiriko, the Cats try to save the Berbils, the war truly begins for the samurai and with grave consequences, the Galalunians find an adorable little alien (the tumblr swears it's this episode and not episode 11, so don't come blaming me if it's not Tashy tonight!), the Gekko lands in FAC-51 and Renton finds some strange things in its depths, the Elrics head out to Liore, Bebop goes back to the episodes we skipped over previously this time around, and Inuyasha and Sesshomaru finish their duel. But the big news of the night is the Adult Swim debut of the orange whirlwind himself, Uzumaki Naruto. Believe it!

As long as the Toonami staff ends it at Episode 135, we won't have to suffer through filler hell. Maybe start up Naruto Shippuden after that, I imagine they can get the rights in the 3 years it will take to get to that point. Especially since Disney is just sitting on them, doing nothing.
Part 1 Naruto is a really high quality shonen series most of the time. Very standard and straightforward, and it embraces an awful lot of tropes, but it's a top shelf example of the genre. It's no One Piece or Hunter X Hunter, sure, and it might not have any single arc executed quite as brilliantly as Bleach's Soul Society Arc, but it's good stuff.
It's just as you approach the end of Part 1 that it starts to bog down in its own unnecessary angstiness while Shippuuden is a whole other sort of clusterfuck entirely, and the manga is steeped with utter bullshit at this point as it's approaching the end. Thankfully, none of that will come for a good long time on Toonami's run.

Viz hasn't put up new (dubbed) eps in a while, but they did recently complete the 3rd Shippuden movie.
Does Disney XD even air the show anymore? Or do the eps just go up on Itunes and stuff?

No, Disney has removed all traces of the show even happening. Not even reruns.
According to Wiki, they do still dub episodes. The next DVD boxset comes in January with Episodes 154-166.
It's gotten way to violent for the Disney channels. If Toonami can give them a decent offer I don't see why they wouldn't surrender the rights.

I agree, I didn't really like how Shippuden started, but I really got into it during the Hidan/Kakuzu arc and was for the most part enjoyable since.

I think they stopped before the Shikamaru as Batman arc. That arc is just WAY too violent for anyone outside of [AS] or current Toonami to show.
EDIT: They showed that bit on Disney? Damn son.
I thought that arc was really awesome. Shippuden had the most emotional heights in the series.
I think the Zabuza arc is really quite something.

Damn!! I remember it all. Naruto followed by Naruto marathon, lol. but yeah, I remember when naruto had a marathon literally every month, sometimes being holiday marathons, and it led up to the Naruto Hondo marathon. Man, Good times. I watched the shit out of it.
