and yet somehow it's not as slow as IGPX

Bleach also doesn't have smooth easy listening throughout the entire show. As I said earlier, I really like IGPX but the pace of the show slows to a severe crawl when it follows up off the back of things like One Piece and Soul Eater.

The music in IGPX is so mellow, relaxed and just right for drifting along in space while smoking a cigarette. Not exactly great to get people pumped for action.

“You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place. Now you just have to find it!”
These were the last words of the legendary King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger, before he was executed. And as those words spread, so began “The Great Pirate Era.” Men flocked to the Grand Line in countless numbers, searching for Roger’s treasure: One Piece. Our story kicks off as Monkey D. Luffy sets off to live his dream. He seeks a formidable crew to aid him in his journey to obtain One Piece and become the new King of the Pirates.
One Piece is hugely popular in Japan, having single-handedly crushed manga sales for the past 10 years. But just how popular is it? See for yourself! The series is written by Oda, who planned an epic narrative. The story grew and grew from there to the massive beast we see today, where nearly every detail matters, even if they seem inconsequential in the long run. The continuity in the series is crazy, so jumping in at the 207th episode can be a daunting task. But fear not! Toonami-GAF is here to help! This guide will introduce you to the characters, the details about the world, and catch you up on the plot so far.

Luffy sets sail with the intention of gathering a worthy, ten-member crew. To date he has six crewmates, all sailing by his side on their ship, the Going Merry. Each member has a unique personality, fighting style and goal.

The leader of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy set sail from the East Blue to become King of the Pirates. A natural leader, he’s brash and has a heart that’s almost always in the right place. Also quite gullible, he gets in over his head very easily, leaving the crew often at the mercy of his whims. He loves meat and ate the Devil Fruit which turned him into a rubber man: the Gum Gum Fruit. This means he’s immune to bullets, cannons, punches, and blunt objects. But he’s not invincible, either; vulnerabilities include fire, sharp objects, and, just like every Devil Fruit user, the sea. He’s surprisingly fast, which means his attacks tend to be unpredictable. He’ll stretch his fists and legs very quickly for offense and inflate his body to deflect bullets and cannon balls back at his opponents for defense. Luffy also tends to learn from fighting his opponents like Crocodile, who taught him that Devil Fruit abilities could be used in ways he hadn't even thought of. Luffy’s attacks consist of Gum Gum Pistol, Gum Gum Bazooka, Gum Gum Gatling, and many more.

Luffy cherishes the straw hat given to him by his hero and role model, Red-Haired Shanks, a pirate captain sailing the Grand Line. Many years ago, Shanks would often stop by Luffy’s island and soon took a shine to the boy. After accidentally eating the Gum Gum Fruit during a celebration, Shanks tried to get Luffy to spit it out. But to his dismay, the Devil Fruit had already taken effect. During a later incident, Shanks lost his arm rescuing young Luffy from a hungry Sea King. Before leaving again, he handed the boy his straw hat, on one condition: that it only be returned when Luffy became King of the Pirates.

The first pirate Luffy recruited was actually a pirate hunter. Despite this obvious problem, Luffy quickly earned Zoro’s respect and added him as the first member of the crew. Zoro wants to become known as the world’s greatest swordsman using his unusual three sword style: one sword in each hand and one in his teeth. If hard-pressed, he has fighting methods for fewer swords or even no swords at all. Despite his steely demeanor, he tends to get rather easily flustered by fellow crewmate and rival Sanji, who he’s always at odds with. Zoro loves booze and is often napping in many situations despite the fact he may be in real danger. He also has the worst sense of direction of anyone in the crew and is almost certain to get lost, making him one of the last people to show up for battle. Despite being human, Zoro is unbelievably strong and can survive seemingly mortal wounds and even electrocution. However, this nearly changed when he encountered the Pirate Warlord “Hawkeye” Mihawk. Wanting to test his skill, Zoro fought Mihawk and promptly lost. Standing in front of his opponent saying, “Scars on the back are a swordsman’s secret shame”, Hawkeye, respecting Zoro’s fighting spirit, nearly slashed him in half. This left a massive scar on his front chest and led to his vow to never lose again. Since then, Zoro has learned to even cut steel on his quest to become the greatest swordsman in the world.

This dream comes from his childhood friend, Kuina. Despite the fact that Zoro could beat every challenger on his home island, he could never win against his teacher’s daughter, not even after 2000 total matches. He decided to use two swords, thinking it would improve his chances of winning, but still he was defeated. Zoro then confessed to her that he wanted to be the world’s greatest swordsman, a dream the two of them both shared. However, Kuina’s father said she could never attain the goal since girls’ fighting potential diminishes as they get older. Zoro, angered by her defeatist attitude, said he would beat her through skill and not because she was a girl. They both promised each other that either one of them must become the world’s greatest swordsman. Kuina, sadly, suffered a fatal accident. Zoro was left with her family’s sword, the legendary sword Wado Ichimonji (from a set of legendary swords). Where once he fought with two swords, now he had three, and he resolved to become a swordsman so great that word of his skill would echo in the heavens, and reach the ears of Kuina’s soul.

A pathological liar, Usopp is the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy naturally wanted him on the crew since his father, Yasopp, was one of Shank’s pirates. The two are best friends, and Usopp takes advantage of this by trying to influence Luffy’s behavior or just get him to goof off. Though cowardly and the first to run from danger, he’ll fight for what he believes in when everything is on the line; sometimes his running is to simply establish distance in order to snipe his opponents. He tends to employ strange gadgets like rotten eggs and fire “stars” as bullets. Usopp, when needed, will get up close for a finishing blow with his hammer (or his rubber band of doom). His compulsive lies tend to fool very few people, but he always manages to get Luffy and Chopper to believe him. He also seems to be one of the most inventive members of the crew, developing Nami’s Clima Takt baton and finding inventive uses for dials found in Skypiea. Usopp himself dreams of becoming a great pirate captain one day.

Usopp was left alone with his mother when Yasopp left to join Shanks’s crew. And when his mother became deathly ill, Usopp would run into the village yelling that pirates were coming in order to keep her hope that her husband would return alive, despite how much it scared and annoyed the villagers. After she died, Usopp’s lying habits continued, and he befriended a sickly girl named Kaya who he told of his “grand adventures” to keep her spirits up. Kaya, the heiress to her deceased parents’ huge fortune, was later targeted by pirates. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp thwarted their evil plans, which led to Kaya giving the Straw Hats a ship, the Going Merry, as a token of her gratitude. Usopp, in turn, cares for the ship deeply and repairs it despite having no experience for such a task.

Sanji has two great loves: food and women. When Luffy and his crew stopped at Baratie, a seagoing restaurant, they found an opportunity to recruit a cook. Little did they know they had set foot onto the ship of legendary pirate Red Foot Zeff. Sanji was Zeff’s apprentice and joined Luffy’s crew to fulfill his dream of finding the All Blue, a legendary sea when the North, South, West, and East seas meet, its waters filled with fish from each one of the seas. This is the ultimate dream for a sea chef and rumored to exist somewhere on the Grand Line. As a chef, Sanji must take care of his hands in order to prepare food, so he only fights with his legs. Despite Luffy’s constant demand for food, Sanji usually good care of the crew and gets high praise for his dishes he makes. He considers Zoro to be “lesser” than him, and as such the two are often engaged in a bitter rivalry. Completely infatuated with beautiful women, he is always at Nami and Robin’s beck and call. Nami gets particularly annoyed at this, such as when Sanji constantly calls out her name in a lovestruck tone of voice. No matter what, he will quickly run to a woman’s aid and gets angry when he believes anyone, even his crewmates, has wronged them in some way. Despite his blind chivalry Sanji tends to be one of the smarter Straw Hats, saving Luffy and the others several times from sticky situations. He also tends to think ahead to accomplish a goal, and, along with Luffy and Zoro, is one of the strongest fighters on the crew, often facing the most fearsome opponents.

Sanji learned at an early age the importance of food. When he was working as a young cook on a ship, Zeff’s crew attacked. A storm promptly sank both ships, and Zeff rescued Sanji from the sea. The two were then stranded on a deserted rock with only small rations to keep them alive. Zeff took the lion’s share of the food, rationalizing that, as a grown man, he needed more food to live. With his rations depleted and in danger of starving to death, Sanji saw that the pirate’s larger bag of rations was still completely full. Plotting to kill Zeff for his food, Sanji discovered the bag was filled not with food, but only with the now-worthless treasure Zeff had acquired. Zeff had given all the food to Sanji and instead opted to eat his own leg to survive (note: this is the manga story; in the anime, Zeff severed his own leg after it became stuck in order to rescue Sanji from the sea and simply went without any food). Zeff confessed he always had a lack a food on the high seas and wanted to open a restaurant, vowing to feed whoever was hungry. Sanji agreed to work for him, and the two were later rescued by a passing ship. Sanji swore never to deny food to a starving person and holds a zero-tolerance policy for wasting food on the seas. When Luffy offered him a chance to join his crew, Zeff told Sanji to pursue his dream of finding the All Blue.

Nami is a cat burglar who was introduced in the first episode and became the second person to travel with Luffy after Zoro but, due to certain circumstances, she’s technically the 4th Straw Hat to join the crew. While her mind may always be on making a quick buck, she has an uncanny talent for navigation. Due to the dangerous waters on the Grand Line, an ace navigator is invaluable, and Nami certainly fits the bill with her ability to predict weather patterns from miles away and deduce which currents are safe for travel through simple observation. She is short-tempered and often uses her womanly wiles as a weapon; if that doesn’t work she’ll hit her opponents in the back of the head with her baton. However, she’s aware of her weaknesses in combat and tends to run from confrontation. When Usopp invents her Clima Takt, she believed she finally had a viable method to fight back, only to discover the “weapon” was made mainly for parties. Initially upset, Nami soon finds out the weapon is actually perfect for her since she can use the weapon’s ability to mimic weather patterns for more offensive capabilities. Nami, together with Usopp, will often try to control Luffy’s wild behavior, and she is often annoyed by Sanji’s constant flirtation. She has proven to be an excellent thief and pickpocket, often stealing critical objects completely undetected. She joins Luffy’s crew in order to make a map of the world, and also serves to manage the crew’s money.

When Nami was a girl she was an orphan taken in by a former Marine named Bellemere. Together with another orphan named Nojiko, the three girls formed an unlikely family. But because Bellemere struggled to support two children with the meager wages of her job as a tangerine farmer, Nami resorted to learning navigation through stealing the books that would educate her. This led to a huge fight, where Nami said she wished she was adopted by a rich family. After slapping her child across the face, Bellemere attempted to make amends by spending a great deal of money to make a large dinner for Nami and Nojiko. However, at the same time, Arlong’s band of fishman pirates arrived and formed a dominion over the island, demanding payment from each person in exchange for their lives. Bellemere, her savings now depleted, could only afford to pay for Nami and Nojiko. Arlong made an example of Bellemere, shooting her dead before the eyes of the two little girls. Due to her skill at drawing highly detailed maps, Arlong kidnapped Nami and forced her to join his crew. The two struck a deal. In exchange for 100 million Berries (the name of the currency in the world of One Piece), Arlong would leave the village alone. Unsurprisingly, the fishman did not keep to his word. And although completely unaware of Nami’s servitude, Luffy brutally defeated Arlong for one very simple reason: he made Nami cry.

Chopper was a reindeer on Drum Island before he unknowingly ate the Human Human Devil Fruit, transforming him into a toddler-sized human/reindeer hybrid. Because of the nature of his shapeshifting powers he is often called a tanuki (a Japanese raccoon dog reputed to have similar powers) and gets very annoyed. Chopper was introduced after Nami came down with a deadly disease, leading the Straw Hats to search for a doctor. He shows vast knowledge in the medical field thanks to his mentor, Kureha, and is able to speak like a human thanks to the Devil Fruit. Chopper’s fighting style consists of ‘points’ which he gets by manipulating the wavelength of the Human Human Fruit, a feature all Zoan-type Devil Fruit eaters share. Chopper’s “standard”, toddler-like form is Brain Point, his reindeer form is Walk Point, and his muscular humanoid form is Heavy Point. If the situation demands, Chopper can then eat a Rumble Ball which amplifies his transformations for 3 minutes, allowing him to unlock Arm Point, Horn Point, Jump Point and Guard Point. Due to the modification of the Devil Fruit wavelength, only one Rumble Ball can be taken every 6 hours. Otherwise, Chopper’s transformations would become unstable and he would have no control over what he changes into. Chopper seems to be very shy, often hiding behind objects. However, this is an art he seems unable to master given he does it backwards; the half of his face that would normally be used to peak around corners is hidden, while the rest of him is entirely exposed. He also has a strange reaction to compliments. Whenever praised, Chopper will say harsh words, completely at odds with his clearly joyous reaction of smiling and performing a silly dance. As the youngest member of the crew, he has a naïve, almost childlike personality and is often swept up in Usopp’s grand lies as a result. Chopper enjoys goofing off with Luffy and seems to have the strongest rapport with Robin, though he gets very annoyed whenever the stubborn Zoro takes off the bandages used to treat his frequent injuries. Chopper dreams of becoming a doctor that can cure any illness.

Chopper was always an outcast among reindeer due to his blue nose, but when he ate the Human Human Devil Fruit he was exiled from the reindeer community entirely. He tried to join the humans in Heavy Point form but was regarded as a monster. Then, in a stroke of good fortune, Chopper ran into an eccentric old man named Dr. Hiruluk. Hiruluk gave his new friend a name: Tony Tony Chopper, and made him his assistant. Instantly, Chopper looked up to the old man as a role model. Hiruluk believed all diseases could be cured and saw the Jolly Roger as a symbol of vitality and strength. He sought to cure the “sickness” of Drum Island, which only allowed doctors sanctioned by its despot, Wapol, to practice from the confines of the castle (Hiruluk was considered an outlaw). Gradually, rumor spread that these doctors had fallen ill, and that no one on the island could be treated. Eventually Hiruluk, who had kept his sickness hidden, kicked Chopper out so the reindeer would not see him suffer. Determined to help the doctor, Chopper searched through Hiruluk’s books to find a medicine strong enough to cure him. Finding a very rare mushroom amongst the reindeer that had exiled him, Chopper broke his horn and leg in a fight with the other animals but managed to recover the mushroom and prepare medicine for Hiruluk. He hugged Chopper out of gratitude and stated he felt immediately better after consuming it. Hiruluk went to try and treat Wapol’s doctors, while Chopper paid a visit to another eccentric, outlaw doctor and close friend to Hiruluk, Dr. Kureha, who asked where the old man was. When Chopper informed her of the medication he found, labeled in the medical textbook with the skull symbol he had been told was a symbol of vitality, Kureha gravely informed Chopper that he had unknowingly given Hiruluk a fatal dose of poison; the old man had 12 hours left to live. Chopper ran off to save Hiruluk, who had discovered that the doctors weren’t sick at all upon arriving at Wapol’s castle. It was a trap to lure in the remaining outlaw doctors, which relieved Hiruluk; he was worried that Drum Island was in a state of national crisis. With his services no longer required and determined not to let Chopper be the reason for his death, Hiruluk committed suicide. Chopper was taken in by Kureha and taught real medicine. Luffy later defeated Wapol and freed the doctors, while Kureha fulfilled Hiruluk’s dream of showering cherry blossoms on the snow-filled Drum Island.

With a whopping bounty of 79 million Berries at only 8 years old, Robin has been hunted by the World Government for her entire life. Initially introduced as Miss All Sunday, the right-hand woman of Crocodile (a major villain and formerly one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea), Nico Robin proved to have ulterior motives for entering into the partnership. She’s an archaeologist intent on hunting down the “True History” of the world, and joined Crocodile since he was her best chance to the Poneglyph in Alabasta. Robin was prepared to kill Crocodile in case he betrayed her, but she failed in her attempt and was then rescued by Luffy, who ignored her demands to be left to die. Robin stowed away on the Going Merry as the crew left Alabasta following Crocodile’s defeat and asked to be part of the crew. Luffy agreed, despite the objections of the other Straw Hats. Robin is very serious most of the time but enjoys watching the antics of the crew. She cares for Chopper and is very protective of him and sports a very black sense of humor due to being hunted her whole life. Robin ate the Flower Flower Fruit, which allows her to sprout hundreds of arms, legs, or any part of her body from seemingly any surface she sees. However, this ability requires concentration so she is vulnerable while using it.

Going Merry

Given as a gift to Usopp and the Straw Hats by Kaya, the Going Merry has proven to be a swift and reliable vessel. It’s traveled from the East Blue, through Reverse Mountain, into the Grand Line, converted to fly mode to sail the mighty Knock Up stream to Skypiea and was stranded on a sacrificial altar in the Upper Yard of Skypiea. Although Eneru’s priest damaged it heavily, the ship was mysteriously repaired by an unknown figure seen by Usopp. Otherwise, Usopp takes care of the vessel to the best of his ability, using whatever materials he can find.

Oda likes all his characters. You will see many from the past pop up at random moments, so please forgive me if I miss someone. When it comes to villains, Oda likes to make sure they aren’t just defeated, but that their dreams crushed. Only by this total defeat can the heroes prevail. I will update this section and the Straw Hat section as needed.

Arlong and Hatchan

Arlong is a vicious sawshark fishman who hoped to conquer East Blue. He set up shop at Nami’s home island and created his own base of operations, Arlong Park. Arlong kidnapped Nami after murdering her adopted mother, hoping the info she could provide as an ace navigator would assist him in conquering the East Blue. He believes humans are inferior to fishmen and hates them to their very core. Sporting a sun tattoo across his chest, Arlong also has extremely powerful jaws that are capable of catching and crushing a cannon ball without a second thought. Luffy defeated him and destroyed Arlong Park with a drop of the mighty Gum Gum Battle Axe. Hatchan was Arlong’s second in command, with a sun tattoo on his forehead and, as an octopus fishman, capable of holding a sword in each of his six arms. While formidable, Zoro showed him that the number of swords was irrelevant if the swordsman did not have the skill to take advantage of them.

Baroque Works: Mr. 0 (Crocodile), Mr. 1, Mr. 2 Bon Clay, Mr. 3

Baroque Works was a criminal organization operating in and around Alabasta. High-ranking members consisted of numbered males and female counterparts named after a holiday or a day of the week. The lower the number of a Baroque Works member, the stronger they were considered. Nobody knew the identity of the organization’s leader, Mr. 0, until his plans came to fruition in Alabasta. Mr. 0 was Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. He planted the seeds of rebellion in the Kingdom of Alabasta by framing the king for its long drought in order to seize control and locate the Alabasta Poneglyph, which would provide information about one of the three legendary weapons of the sea, Pluton. Crocodile ate the Sand Sand Fruit, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to change his body into sand, as well as imbuing it with the same properties. Given the nature of his powers, Crocodile was perhaps the first major opponent Luffy and the Straw Hats had to face. Luffy learned that the powers given by the Devil Fruit are rather open-ended. Crocodile could absorb moisture from living substances, jettison the hook from his left hand, and remain nearly invincible since he could reconstruct his body from sand. He could only be damaged when his sand was hardened by a moist substance such as water. Despite Luffy’s knowledge of this weakness, Crocodile nearly killed him twice before their final confrontation, when instead of using water Luffy substituted his own blood. Defeated, Crocodile’s plans were exposed to the Marines and he was not only arrested, but stripped of his status as a Warlord of the Sea.

Mr. 1 was one of Crocodile’s most loyal men and worked as an assassin prior to joining Baroque Works. He ate the Dice Dice Fruit which turned him into a blade man, able to form blades on any part of his body. As such, he was nearly impervious to attack. Zoro faced Mr.1 in a duel, but soon realized the only way to defeat his opponent was to learn to cut through steel. Recalling a small aspect of his training from childhood, he managed to cut through Mr. 1’s formidable defense and achieve victory. Mr. 1 was later captured by the Marines. His partner was Miss Doublefinger, whose powers from the Spike Spike Fruit allowed to her sprout spikes from any place on her body. She was defeated by Nami.

Mr. 2, or Bon Clay, was a bit of an odd duck. A ballerina fighter, the Straw Hats first encountered him on the voyage to Alabasta, unaware of his identity and on rather friendly terms. Bon Clay had eaten the Clone Clone Fruit, which allowed him to transform into whoever he touched. During their first meeting, he came into contact with most of the Straw Hats, and as a result each member of Luffy’s crew placed a black “X” on their arms in order to verify their identities. Because of Bon Clay’s cross-dressing ways, he was the only Baroque Works member without a female counterpart since he filled both roles. Bon Clay was defeated by Sanji, despite mimicking Nami and landing several blows as a result. Sanji managed to trick Bon Clay into deactivating his power and landing a finishing blow. Bon Clay used Ballet Kenpo, which is somewhat similar to Sanji’s Black Leg style. After Crocodile’s defeat, the Straw Hats left Alabasta, but were pursued by Marines. Bon Clay came to the rescue and imitated the Straw Hats in order to throw the Marines off their trail. Before he was arrested at the end of a noble fight, he professed his friendship to Luffy’s crew.

Mr. 3 confronted the Straw Hats at Little Garden. A cunning strategist, he planned to take out not only the crew (collecting Luffy's bounty in the process), but two friendly giants with large bounties as well. To accomplish this goal, he made use of the Wax Wax Fruit, which gives him access to an endless supply of candle wax (his hair, styled into the letter 3, catches fire accordingly.) He can shape the wax into whatever form he pleases, whether he needs to make the key to a cell or a large exoskeleton used for battle. Mr. 3 seems to fancy himself as a bit of an artist as well, as he enjoys defeating his foes by turning them into wax statues for his collection. This fate almost befell Zoro, Nami, and Vivi before they were rescued by the others. Livid at his agent's defeat, Crocodile sent Mr. 2 to assassinate Mr. 3. However, Mr. 3 managed to avoid his fellow Baroque Works officer to speak with Crocodile in person; he was promptly fed to a giant alligator. And yet it was not the end: he managed to escape his fate and briefly caused more trouble for the Straw Hats before he was apprehended by the Marines. His partner was Miss Goldenweek, a young girl whose fighting style is the Colors Trap. Any who come into contact with the colored symbols she paints fall under their influence; for example, yellow causes uncontrollable laughter and black causes the victim to betray their friends. (ALL credit goes to GMN for this baby! Thanks GMN!)

230px-Eneru.png

Eneru

After toppling Baroque Works, the Straw Hats found their Log Pose pointing toward the sky. In order to advance, they had to make a pit stop and equip the Going Merry for sky travel. They were then ushered to Skypiea, the island in the clouds. The Straw Hats soon discovered something was amiss when they witnessed the citizens’ fear of god. This god was none other than Eneru. Eneru possessed the ability to detect life forms with impeccable accuracy and held the power of the Rumble Rumble Fruit which, turned his body into living lightning. Using this power Eneru took over the throne of the benevolent God, Gan Fall, and began his plot to go to the “Endless Vearth” by knocking Skypia back down to Earth. With such a powerful Devil Fruit power, Eneru crushed everyone in his path and nearly all the Straw Hats in order to pilot his ship, the Maxim, to return Skypiea to the sea. Through a series of odd events involving a giant python, Eneru overlooked one person, Monkey D. Luffy. When Luffy entered the Maxim. Enel hit him with everything he had only to discover that, as a rubber man, Luffy was Enel’s natural enemy. Luffy could strike Eneru without any adverse effects, but he was able to use his “mantra” in order to predict and dodge incoming attacks. Luffy used unpredictable attack patterns to counter this. Eneru then used heat and a trident to attack Luffy, eventually heating gold onto the Straw Hat captain’s hand in order to slow him down. Luffy wasn’t out, however, and with the help of Nami he used the giant golden ball to hit Eneru and defeat him. Eneru, defeated, saw he could travel to the actual “Endless Vearth”: the moon.

120px-Anchor_face_Buggy.PNG

Captain Buggy

A constant thorn in everyone’s side, Buggy first encountered Luffy at Orange Town. After his defeat, Buggy resurfaced in Loguetown and attempted to publicly execute Luffy. Another Devil Fruit user, he ate the Chop Chop Fruit, which allows him to cut his body into pieces, and then manipulate those pieces. He has partnered with another of Luffy’s early foes, Iron Mace Alvida, who ate the Smooth Smooth Fruit. This not only removed a great deal of the excess fat from her body, but made her skin extremely slippery.

Former Straw Hats

230px-Hi-ho_Silver_away.png

Vivi Nefertari and Karoo

Vivi and her pet duck Karoo were initially members of Baroque Works (Vivi’s codename was Miss Wednesday, paired with Mr. 9) when they encountered the Straw Hats at the giant whale, Laboon. After Zoro dispatched many of the lowest-ranked Baroque Works members at Whiskey Peak, Vivi was uncovered to actually be a spy, along with her servant Igaram (Mr. 8). Igaram protected Vivi by creating a distraction and was seemingly killed when Nico Robin blew up his ship. The Straw Hats agreed to uncover what was going on at Alabasta and allowed Vivi to join the crew when she told them of her plight. She was secretly the princess of Alabasta, having joined Baroque Works to uncover the identity of Mr. 0, who she believed to be responsible for the drought at the heart of so much civil unrest. Fast forward to the end of Alabasta, where Crocodile is defeated and the rebellion is quelled thanks to Vivi and the Straw Hats. The kingdom held a feast in their honor, and Vivi admitted how close she had grown to her new friends. Luffy offered her a place on his crew, but she declined, saying her country needed her. As the Straw Hats set off to sail Vivi came by the docks to wish them farewell, but the Marines were watching. However, none of them were able to utter a word of goodbye, since it would create the appearance that the princess was in support of dangerous pirates. Aware of this, Luffy and the crew raised their arms to sky, revealing the “X” on each of their arms. Vivi and Karoo, as tears fell from their eyes, raised their arms too, as a sign of farewell.

Portgas D. Ace

120px-Portgas_D._Ace_Portrait.png

Fire Fist Ace is Luffy’s older brother, who holds the powers of the Flame Flame fruit. His body takes on the properties of fire, which makes him an incredibly formidable opponent and earned him a massive bounty of 550 million Berries. The tattoo on his back denotes him as one of the commanders in Whitebeard’s pirate fleet. He briefly traveled with the Straw Hats in Alabasta, searching for a traitor named Blackbeard. After discovering that Blackbeard was not in Alabasta, he left Luffy with a mysterious card, saying it would allow them to meet again someday.

Marines

160px-Cobybefore.PNG

Coby

The first person Luffy encountered at the start of his journey was a stout chore boy named Coby. After Luffy dealt with a pirate threat in Iron Mace Alvida, he and Coby shared their dreams. Luffy wants to be King of the Pirates and Colby wants to become a Marine Admiral. When Luffy encountered Zoro tied to a post at a naval base, he freed not only the “pirate hunter”, but the Marines from the tyrannical Captain Morgan. The Marines thanked Luffy and took Coby in for training where he was assigned to a vice admiral.

260px-Sumoka.jpg
220px-Tashigi0.jpg

Captain Smoker and Tashigi

Marine Captain Smoker met Luffy at Loguetown and almost captured him with the use of his own Devil Fruit powers stemming from the Plume Plume Fruit, turning him into a smoke man. He can capture people in his smoke or use the smoke to close in on his prey, with powers similar to Crocodile. Though he had Luffy pinned down, the Straw Hat captain was saved at the last minute by a mysterious figure. Since then Smoker has vowed to capture Luffy. Although harsh at first glance, Smoker is actually kind follows his own sense of justice. When he had a chance to capture the Straw Hats at Alabasta, he allowed them to escape since not only had they saved his own life, but he realized they were trying to save the country itself. He was also credited with the capture of Crocodile, much to his dismay as he felt it was dishonorable to take credit for a fight he had no involvement in. Smoker’s second-in-command is the swordswoman Tashigi, who Zoro has trouble fighting because she looks so much like a grown up Kuina.

Devil Fruits

Both a blessing in a curse, Devil Fruits enhance any person who eats them. But this power comes at a price: Devil Fruit users lose all ability to swim, and their powers are drained in bodies of water. Exceptions to this rule include things like a rain storm, snow, etc. Devil Fruits are actually quite rare because there is only one of any particular variety in existence. There will never be another rubber man so long as Luffy is around, and no animal will take on the abilities of a human like Chopper has. Once a Devil Fruit is consumed, a second fruit cannot be eaten in order to gain additional power. There are three major types of fruit: Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia.

250px-Hanahana.png

Paramecia Devil Fruit

Paramecia Devil Fruit eaters are fairly common due to the variety they fruits come in. Typically Paramecia users are granted ‘superhuman’ abilities that may seem almost useless at first glance. Turning one’s body into rubber, the ability to cause dismemberment, and the ability to sprout hands from different surfaces are just a few examples. Paramecia users often only have a small bag of tricks, making them predictable to fight, but they can push themselves even further by exploring the properties of their Devil Fruit.

Notable Paramecia Devil Fruit users: Monkey D. Luffy, Nico Robin, Buggy the Clown

250px-Birdbirdfalcon.png

Zoan Devil Fruit

The Zoan-type Devil Fruit allows the user to transform into another animal, with several forms: a natural form, a fully changed form, and a hybrid form. Zoan eaters who eat the fruit of a carnivorous specious tend to be more vicious than other users. Those with this ability are imbued with the strength of that species, which naturally makes them more formidable in hand-to-hand combat.

Notable Zoan Devil Fruit Users: Tony Tony Chopper, Pell

Suna_Suna_no_Mi.gif

Logia Devil Fruit

Logia Devil Fruit users have a natural advantage over the previous two Devil Fruits. Logia users’ bodies are imbued with the characteristics of one element, like sand. The Logia Devil Fruit makes the user impervious to harm by conventional means, but they are by no means invincible. Since Logia users typically rely heavily on their powers for defense and never dodge, if their opponent finds a weakness then they may be easily pummeled. Logia users need training as well; otherwise they will not react appropriately if a sneak attack strikes them. Examples of weaknesses include: Crocodile’s sand being hardened by moisture, Eneru’s electricity cannot pass through rubber.

Notable Logia Devil Fruit Users: Smoker, Crocodile, Eneru

The Three Great Powers

Seven Warlords

Well-known pirate captains, Warlords ally themselves with the World Government but typically do not respect them. Warlords apply by showing a feat of strength and asking for the title. Once given the title, Warlords are given a semblance of freedom, allowed to attack pirates and steal their loot so long as 10% goes to the World Government. Warlords are pardoned for their former transgressions and can make money from bounty hunting and legitimate businesses. Warlords who abuse these privileges and go behind the World Government’s back, like Crocodile, are stripped of their Warlord status.

200px-Marine.png

Marines and the World Government

Marines are the law enforcement of the World Government and natural enemies to pirates everywhere, with the word “Justice” labeled on their backs. Marines tend to differ on the definition of “Justice”, however; some follow Absolute Justice, some follow Moral Justice, and others still follow different codes.

The World Government formed the laws in the world and protects the citizens from the scourge of pirates. However, there have been hints they may have ulterior motives…

Four Emperors

Considered the four strongest pirates currently sailing the Grand Line, the Four Emperors are feared by pirates and the World Government alike. Each has their own goal and strong crew. It is unknown who all the Emperors are, but Ace works under one known as Whitebeard.

Transponder Snails

Communication devices that serve various purposes in One Piece, typically transponder snails are used like telephones. Transponder Snails imitate the looks of the speaker as well as their voice.
250px-Dials.PNG

Dials

Initially discovered in Skypiea, these conch shells share various abilities to help everyday life in Skypiea. Heat dials, milky dials, impact dials, etc. all can be used to enhance combat, transportation, cooking and other mundane tasks.

One Piece

A mysterious treasure hidden at the end of the Grand Line, it is rumored to have all the loot Gol D. Roger has collected in his lifetime. What it exactly is remains largely unknown.

250px-Map.jpg

The Grand Line

Commonly known as ‘The Pirate Graveyard’, the Grand Line is the main route pirates take to reach One Piece. The Grand Line unites the North, South, West and East seas and is divided into two halves by the Red Line. Naturally, the path is filled with dangerous pirates and guarded by Marines. Surrounding the Grand Line is the Calm Belts, which contains static seas where no ship can travel. To make matters worse, the Calm Belts are crawling with Sea Kings that are even more massive than usual. Ships need ace navigators and a strong crew in order to navigate the Grand Line or else they will quickly be buried at sea. The Straw Hats entered the Grand Line current at Reverse Mountain where they met Laboon, a giant whale who befriended the crew.

250px-400px-One_Piece_-_Log-Pose.svg.png

Log Pose

A crucial part of navigating the Grand Line since every island has a special magnetic wavelength, making compasses useless. Log Poses record magnetic waves and point at the next island the crew must travel to. The time it takes to lock onto the magnetic waves varies from island to island. Nami wears the Log Pose safely on her wrist to help navigate the Going Merry from island to island.

250px-OnePieceSeaking.jpg

Sea Kings

These behemoths roam the waters of the Calm Belts and have been known to sneak into the seas around the Grand Line. Sea Kings tend to take the form of other animals and can crush entire pirate crews with ease. They seem to attack unprovoked, and one almost killed Luffy as a child. Rumor has it there is a weapon that can control both the sea and the Sea Kings.

200px-OP.png

Seastone

A substance that emits “the power of the sea” to drains the power of Devil Fruit users, Seastone has proven an invaluable tool for the Marines. They seem to have huge reserves of the Seastone and make jail cells and weapons from the substance.

180px-Poneglyphs.png

Poneglyphs and Powerful Weapons

Poneglyphs are giant stone monoliths scattered throughout the world written in a mysterious text unreadable to all but Nico Robin. Each one contains history long forgotten, and inscribed on them is the location of three weapons that could change the world. At Alabasta, Robin hoped the Poneglyph would contain knowledge of the True History of the world only to be dismayed it only told of where to find the ancient weapon Pluton. Crocodile, who sought Pluton, stabbed Robin when he saw through her lie that the Poneglyph only contained history of Alabasta. In Skypiea, Robin read another Poneglyph which told the location of another secret weapon called Poseidon, with a message from Gol D. Roger attached encouraging anyone who could read the text to continue looking for the lost history.

I remember enjoying IGPX when it first aired. I thought the concept was interesting. I remember playing the flash game on the CN website and it was a bitch to beat. Even worse was the game based off that old pilot for it.

Oh man, this is going to be interesting. Also I just got up to the craziest most hax part of Skypiea, you all know the one.

I've got balls of steel.

It's either that or you reached one of the most Hax devil fruit powers in the series.

About the Guide:

It is 4 A.M here and I need to edit Part 3 and 4 so expect those tomorrow morning! I am editing in all the openings (creditless)English and Japanese! As well as other fun stuff.

Let me know what you think! I am going to put in more .gifs for the Going Merry and a section for critical moments. All filmed by me and using GIFcam! Hope you find what is posted so far helpful. Since Special Thanks is in section three I just want to shout out to GMN, Seda, and MetatronM. GMN helped edit my (admittedly) awful writing style, Seda created many of the great banners you see before you, and MetatronM covered my lazy ass when the guide was delayed. THANKS THANKS AND THANKS AGAIN!

Final Edit I swear!: Yes I know I am missing several key figures in my article. No worries, I will add them when necessary. Keep in mind several of these articles will be expanded upon and in certain cases will grow exponentially.

Laboon, Blackbeard, and everyone we are about to meet will get mentioned as we progress.

It was the hax devil fruit being ultra hax. Also nice job on the guide, Buggy needs more love. He's awesome.

I'll jump in with some ancillary character bios, since mine seem to be significantly shorter than Raxus' for the most part. Think of mine as basic intros compared to Raxus' more detailed description in most cases. Raxus also goes more into the details of the actual events of the series, whereas I pretty much stuck primarily with personalities and motivations.

PIRATES AND MARINES: THE ROGUES' GALLERY

Alvida

Pirate Affiliation: Alvida Pirates, Buggy Pirates
Bounty: 5 Million Berries
Weapon: Iron Club
Devil's Fruit: Sube Sube Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 1

Alvida is the first pirate Luffy encounters on his journey. Fat, ugly, and quite mean, Alvida is fond of calling herself the most beautiful pirate on the sea. When Luffy sends her flying, though, her rosy image of herself becomes a reality as the Sube Sube Fruit she winds up eating makes her slender and gorgeous. Still, Straw Hat Luffy cost her her ship and crew, and she can't simply forgive being treated so harshly by someone so young. She's even willing to form dubious alliances to see her revenge through.

Captain Buggy

Also Known As: Buggy the Clown
Pirate Affiliation: Buggy Pirates
Arch Enemies: Red-Haired Shanks, Straw Hat Luffy
Bounty: 15 Million Berries
Devil's Fruit: Bara Bara Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 5

One of the most colorful of Luffy's nemeses, Buggy is more like the ringmaster of a circus instead of a captain of pirates. Still, the Buggy Pirates are deservedly feared, as Buggy is not afraid to unleash his Buggy Bomb on any one who dares to defy him, and his Bara Bara Fruit allows him to break into pieces, which makes him very difficult to take down. Buggy had enjoyed the spoils of piracy in the past, but of late he has become obsessed with the idea of exacting his revenge on Straw Hat Luffy.

Captain Kuro

Also Known As: Klahadore
Pirate Affiliation: Black Cat Pirates
Bounty: 7 Million Berries
Weapon: Cat Claws
First Appearance: Episode 9

Klahadore has served as the caretaker of the young and sickly Kaya for three years. But unknown to Kaya and the citizens of Syrup Village is that Klahadore is actually the brilliant and fiendish pirate captain Kuro who has planned long and hard to make the world believe he was dead in order to take the fortunes of Kaya's fabulously wealthy family. Having already killed Kaya's parents, all Kuro has left to do to accomplish his plan is to have his first mate Jango hypnotize the young Kaya into writing Kuro into the family will and then kill her. Skilled with claws and master of a stealth technique he calls "Shakushi," Kuro is a deadly and highly intelligent adversary and a serious challenge to the newly formed Straw Hat crew.

Don Kreig

Pirate Affiliation: Kreig Pirates
Bounty: 17 Million Berries
Weapons: Dart Projectiles, MH5 Poison Gas, Spike Sheet, Great Battle Spear
First Appearance: Episode 22

Don Kreig is a perfect example of the so-called great pirates of the world of One Piece. He commands not a ship but rather a full fleet, and his arsenal of weapons is beyond compare. He is, quite possibly, the greatest pirate in all of East Blue. And yet Don Kreig's massive fleet got chewed up and spit out by the Grand Line (thanks in no small part to Hawk Eyes Mihawk). Kreig's crippled crew comes to the floating restaurant of Baratie starving and in hope of salvation, which is provided in turn when Zeff presents Kreig with enough food to feed his entire crew. However, a pirate is a pirate, and Kreig turns on his would be saviors. It's up to Sanji and the new waiter boy, Monkey D. Luffy, to protect the restaurant, but can they possibly stand up to the undeniable might of Don Kreig?

Dracule Mihawk

Also Known As: Hawk Eyes Mihawk
Affiliation: Seven Warlords of the Sea
Weapon: Black Sword
First Appearance: Episode 24

Hawk Eyes Mihawk is universally recognized as the strongest swordsman in the world. A member of the Seven Warlords, one swing of Mihawk's great Black Sword can fell mighty battleships, and he is single-handedly responsible for destroying Don Kreig's armada. He is also Zoro's ultimate nemesis, the final obstacle between Zoro and his goal of becoming the world's strongest. Zoro and Mihawk have dueled once before, and though Zoro earned Mihawk's respect, it was clear that Zoro had a long way to go in learning what it takes to be in Mihawk's league.

Arlong

Species: Sawshark Fishman
Pirate Affiliation: Fishman Pirates (Arlong Pirates)
Bounty: 20 Million Berries
Weapon: Kiribachi
First Appearance: Episode 31

They call Arlong "the most wicked man of East Blue" and with good reason. A former subordinate of Jinbei, a member of the Seven Warlords, Arlong took over the East Blue branch of the Fishman Pirates and founded Arlong Park on the island of Cocoyashi. The people of the island are ostensibly hostages in their own village and must pay extremely high tributes to Arlong simply for the privilege of staying alive. In Arlong's employ, amidst all his merman crewmates, is a single human named Nami who draws topographical maps for Arlong's crew and goes on excursions to steal from pirates in her free time. She steals with the intention of one day buying back the village she calls home, a deal she made with Arlong some eight years earlier. Of course, perhaps it was foolish of such a young girl believing the word of a shark...

Smoker

Affiliation: Marines
Rank: Captain
Devil's Fruit: Moku Moku Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 48

Smoker is in command of the Marine presence in Loguetown, the "Town of the Beginning and the End," the final stop before the entrance to the Grand Line for most pirates. He is tenacious and persistent, and he is known for both his chain smoking cigars and for never letting a pirate who enters into his city escape. His Logia type Devil's Fruit enables him to turn into smoke himself, which makes him an extremely dangerous and difficult foe, even for Luffy. When Luffy manages to slip through his grasp, Smoker takes a squad of Marines and chases Straw Hat into the Grand Line. He is still pursuing Luffy to this day, though he is perhaps beginning to understand what it is that makes this rubber kid different.

Tashigi

Affiliation: Marines
Rank: Sergeant Major
First Appearance: Episode 49

Tashigi is the Sergeant Major who works under Smoker. She is something of a klutz, but she is also an excellent swordsman and is Smoker's most trusted subordinate. She also bears a striking resemblance to Zoro's childhood friend Kuina, which causes all kinds of problems for the otherwise cool and collected Santouryuu master. Running into Tashigi still freaks the hell out of Zoro to this day.

Mr. 5

Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Bomu Bomu Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 65

Mr. 5 is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Miss Valentine. His Devil's Fruit gives him the ability to turn any part of his body into a bomb. He is dispatched to Whiskey Peak to take care of a couple spies who have infiltrated the Baroque Works organization.

Miss Valentine

Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Kilo Kilo Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 65

Miss Valentine is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Mr. 5. Her Devil's Fruit gives her the ability to adjust her own body weight instantly. She is dispatched to Whiskey Peak to take care of a couple spies who have infiltrated the Baroque Works organization.

Mr. 3

Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Doru Doru Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 70

Mr. 3 is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Miss Goldenweek. His Devil's Fruit gives him the ability to turn any part of his body into wax, and he prides himself on his intelligence. He is dispatched to Little Garden to hunt down Princess Vivi and the pirates who are harboring her.

Miss Goldenweek

Affiliation: Baroque Works
First Appearance: Episode 70

Miss Goldenweek is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Mr. 3. One of only two Officer Agents without a Devil's Fruit, Miss Goldenweek is a realist painter, meaning that she can take the emotions conveyed in a paint color and make it real. She is dispatched to Little Garden to hunt down Princess Vivi and the pirates who are harboring her.

Crocodile

Also Known As: Sir Crocodile, Mr. 0
Affiliation: Seven Warlords of the Sea, Baroque Works
Former Bounty: 81 Million Berries
Devil's Fruit: Suna Suna Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 76

Crocodile is, as they say, "the Boss." He is a member of the Seven Warlords, which makes him an extremely powerful and deadly opponent, and he is also secretly the leader of the criminal organization Baroque Works. The only other person who is supposed to know this fact is his own agent partner, Miss All-Sunday, but his secret is found out by Princess Vivi of Arabasta. Why is he leading this organization? That isn't really known for sure, but it is known, at least to Vivi and her comrades, that Crocodile is the one responsible for the troubles in her native kingdom of Arabasta, troubles which have driven the people to the very edge of revolution. In Arabasta, Crocodile is revered and loved by the people as a hero as he uses his Devil's Fruit power of sand to defeat any pirates who would dare enter Arabasta's territory. He is the owner of the casino Rain Dinners in the city of dreams, Rainbase, and he is hailed by the people as the "hero of Arabasta." He is, indeed, probably even more popular than the king himself. Which is, of course, exactly as Crocodile has planned it...

Wapol

Also Known As: Wapol the Blik
Pirate Affiliation: Wapol Pirates
Devil's Fruit: Baku Baku Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 79

The former king of the former Drum Kingdom, Wapol fled the country when Blackbeard ravaged the island and has been wandering the seas aimlessly trying to find his way back to Drum Island. As king, he was harsh and demanding, thinking only for himself and not for the people of his kingdom. Along those lines, he banned the practice of medicine by anyone in the kingdom outside of his own cadre of 20 doctors called the Isshi-20, for whose services he would charge exorbitantly high prices from the townspeople when they fell ill. Still, two doctors continuously eluded Wapol's grasp--the quack Dr. Hiluluk and the witch Dr. Kureha.

Mr. 2

Also Known As: Bon Clay
Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Mane Mane Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 91

Mr. 2 is the only Officer Agent in Baroque Works without a partner. The reason is because he is an okama (a male transvestite or homosexual), and his Mane Mane Fruit allows him to assume any person's form, so there is no need for a partner. Mr. 2 is dispatched to Little Garden to kill Mr. 3, but failing in that, he is called back to Arabasta to meet with the other Officer Agents to put Operation Utopia into effect.

Miss Merrychristmas

Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Mogu Mogu Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 103

Miss Merrychristmas is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Mr. 4. Her Devil's Fruit gives her the ability to transform into a mole. She is called to Arabasta to assist in the execution of Operation Utopia.

Mr. 4

Affiliation: Baroque Works
First Appearance: Episode 103

Mr. 4 is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Miss Merrychristmas. One of only two Officer Agents without a Devil's Fruit, instead, Mr. 4 has a gun which consumed a Devil's Fruit (yes, you read that right), which transformed it into a gun-dog that Mr. 4 calls Lasso. Mr. 4 is called to Arabasta to assist in the execution of Operation Utopia.

Miss Doublefinger

Also Known As: Paula
Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Toge Toge Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 103

Miss Doublefinger is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Mr. 1. Her Devil's Fruit gives her the ability to create spikes from her body. She is called to Arabasta to assist in the execution of Operation Utopia.

Mr. 1

Also Known As: Das Bones
Affiliation: Baroque Works
Devil's Fruit: Supa Supa Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 103

Mr. 1 is an Officer Agent in Baroque Works and is paired with Miss Doublefinger. His Devil's Fruit gives him the ability to turn any part of his body into a blade. In West Blue, he was a notorious assassin called Das Bones, but in Baroque Works, he is the second strongest member of the organization behind only Mr. 0. He is called to Arabasta to assist in the execution of Operation Utopia.

Hina

Also Known As: Hina the Black Cage
Affiliation: Marines
Rank: Captain
Devil's Fruit: Ori Ori Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 127

Hina is a Marine captain and an old colleague of Smoker. Her Devil's Fruit enables her to ensnare anyone she touches. She comes to Arabasta in support of Smoker, and among her subordinates are the demoted Fullbody and the newly-turned-legit Jango.

Bellamy

Also Known As: Bellamy the Hyena
Pirate Affiliations: Bellamy Pirates, Donquixote Pirates
Bounty: 55 Million Berries
Devil's Fruit: Bane Bane Fruit
First Appearance: Episode 146

Bellamy is a natural enemy of Monkey D. Luffy. He is snide and stuck up, and most importantly, he believes in a "New Era" of piracy where pirating is more of a business than a reason for adventure. He laughs in the face of dreamers, considering them weak and foolish for chasing seemingly unattainable dreams and myths like One Piece or Sky Island. His Bane Bane Fruit allows him to turn any part of his body into a spring, which makes him a fast and powerful opponent. His Bellamy Pirates are one of many pirate gangs that sail under the flag of the Donquixote Pirates.

Marshall D. Teach

Also Known As: Blackbeard
Pirate Affiliations: Blackbeard Pirates
Bounty: None
First Appearance: Episode 146

The man known as Blackbeard has drawn little attention to himself from the World Government, but he has already had a major impact on the Grand Line. Even before his proper introduction, rumblings about his exploits have had an impact on the Straw Hats' journey. Blackbeard and his small crew were the ones responsible for the sacking of Drum Kingdom, Chopper's homeland, and driving the former king Wapol into exile. Formerly a subordinate of Portgas D. Ace in the Second Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, Teach fled the crew in disgrace after murdering a fellow crewmember. Straw Hat Luffy encounters the man himself in Mock Town, where he espouses an ideology that seems to agree with Luffy's romantic view of piracy, but it's not long before he reveals his true colors and targets Luffy's head to make a name for himself. Meanwhile, one of Blackbeard's own men was busy promoting Teach's name as a new candidate for a vacancy in the Seven Warlords of the Sea. What exactly is it that this man is truly after?

Donquixote Doflamingo

Also Known As: Heavenly Demon Doflamingo
Affiliations: Donquixote Pirates, Seven Warlords of the Sea
Former Bounty: 340 Million Berries
Devil's Fruit: Unknown
First Appearance: Episode 151

Donquixote Doflamingo is the flamboyant leader of the Donquixote Pirates and a major player in the criminal underground. A realist and an opportunist, Doflamingo has his fingers in many pies and has amassed quite a fortune for himself, even while under the World Government's watchful eye as a member of the Seven Warlords. Still a largely enigmatic figure, Doflamingo is a master of manipulation, both literally and figuratively, as his troll-like personality can easily get under the skin of others, and his Devil's Fruit ability seems to give him the power to control the bodies of others like puppets on a string. He is never seen without his trademark smile.

Bartholomew Kuma

Also Known As: Kuma the Tyrant
Affiliations: Seven Warlords of the Sea
Former Bounty: 296 Million Berries
First Appearance: Episode 151

Little has been seen of Batholomew Kuma to date. A large stoic man, he speaks little , but his mere presence is intimidating to even the most hardened of pirates. He is always seen carrying a bible, though the reasons why are unknown. A member of the Seven Warlords, his high former bounty and his earned epithet of "Tyrant" speak to his formidable power as a pirate.

Ow yeah, tryna read all of these information posts that you guys are posting.

Got some awesome people to give that out for us.

Also, maybe OT, for the Fairy Tail hate, there is always some plot ( have to open in a new tab, not on repeat for some reason ) :

I will not die by your technique! *Jumps off a building*

I finished editing part 3 on the guide. I will edit in an episode guide eventually.

I am going to dedicate Part 4 to special moments in One Piece in .gif form but I have to actually rewatch key episodes, capture them, edit, upload them...so you may have to wait awhile.

If you have any way I can improve the guide don't be afraid to ask or drop me a PM! I will naturally expand the guide as we move forward and add/delete articles as necessary. Mostly add.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I'd like to dedicate this weekend's broadcast to One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, who was hospitalized for peritonsillar abscess (infected tonsils). Don't worry, he'll be fine. Get well soon!

Oda and Sanji should lay off the cigarettes. :(

Indeed. 21 hour work days aren't healthy either.

Oda also wrote a personal apology to the fans for taking two weeks off. God damn man, don't apologize for getting sick.
I blame the editors for overworking him. Maybe if they stopped serializing so many shitty manga, they wouldn't have to work him like that.

Yea he really needs to take better care of himself and so do his editors.

Good ol' Zoro/Oda apologizing to Luffy/the fans for something completely understandable like losing/getting sick.

A couple of notes, Raxus:

-Robin can project any part of her body onto any surface she sees, not just her arms.
-You forgot to write a description for Mr. 3 lol.

Really good job on the write-up, though. d(^_^d)

All that it's shown in the anime so far is arms and eyes I think.
