Taxpayers also voted for no service cuts, guaranteed, but he doesn't give a shit about that one.
He's finding efficiencies, durr.

Did transit city go to the humber loop?
What's the message though? The message is "War on Cars" and "Council is wasteful and spends too much" and "Need to build subways, above ground transit is BAD". None of these is support of LRT and two of them are directly opposed. Stintz tried to find a compromise that Ford would go for with Busways but even that is not good enough for Ford.
You'd be fine with a busway down Islington as opposed to a LRT right?
So transit City is still happening?
When will I be able to commute from the heart of Mississauga to Downtown Toronto seamlessly?
There's hope for your grandchildren, but little for you.
The coup that Stintz is raising is partly because she's now versed in the file and knows damn well that burying every line is infeasible, and partly because (I'd bet) she's got mayoral aspirations and knows that Ford can't last, with this many people hating him this much.
Will she succeed in making Transit City *THE* transit plan for Toronto? Maybe. Is Transit City *THE* best solution for transit in Toronto? For transit, for now, maybe. But not for 50 years from now, and not for businesses in the city.
But then, we've had that part of the debate before.
Had Ethiopian food for the first time. It was really fantastic! I love the different kinds of cuisine in this city.

Ethiopian food is very underrated. Which restaurant did you go to?
Ethiopian House by Wellesley station. It was definitely a great meal and I would definitely recommend that place. I forgot to take pictures of it unfortunately, was too hungry I guess.
What's it called? I don't do Ethiopian nearly as much as I should.
I've eaten there before - I ranked it as "ok".
Etobicoke sucks so hardEtobicoke is my soulless wasteland.
What's a better place? I would love to go and compare.
Etobicoke sucks so hard
Suburbs are for people who aren't good enough for to live in the city proper.
Convenience really. I'm only an extra 5-10 minutes north of you and most times I'd rather drive when possible. Don't want to deal with the 60 bus that can just infuriate me sometimes and then dealing with the drunk riffraff on the subway/bus ride heading back home.
Oh and then walking from Steeles back home at like 2:30am.
Ford may think people voted for him to get them subways, but people also voted for council
And if councilors feel they were elected to be responsible and not waste transit money then taxpayers didn't vote for subways at all costs
A 'busway' as I'm using the term requires buses to be separated from the rest of the traffic on the road by exclusive lanes reserved just for them. I don't think I've seen anything like that on Islington. There is a busway down Islington.
At least you guys aren't Brampton.

That looks cool. As usual, much appreciated!
Being just north of the 401 makes a pretty big difference, and Wonderland is preeetty far north.
I'd never live in the city, can't stand the constant bustle and commotion. I'd go mad if I had to stay down for a week - I get enough of the city at work.
There's a bakery on Augusta south of College that sells them. They are great. I've had their churros many times. They even have chocolate filled ones.

Whaaaa? I live right across Wonderland. Takes me 25 minutes to get downtown.
That's not bad!
About Ethiopian food, I've been to Addis Ababa and I had a really good meal. Blogto posted a top 10 a few months ago:

A new pinball cafe has opened around Queen and Roncesvalles. It's called "The Pinball Cafe".

I haven't been there yet but I love love love pinball so I'll be down to check it out soon. The machines are only 25 cents to play.
Unfortunately, they only serve coffee and snacks and no alcohol. I think they will live to regret that decision.
If anyone heads down there before me, please give a report on how it is.

Or that would rather not deal with the constant headache that is driving downtown
Oakville's where I was born and grew up. It's a nice little town. Nice houses, tree-lined streets, it's safe, has minimal sprawl, a classy downtown. Great for families.
However.
If you're between the ages of 12 and 35, it is one of the most boring places imaginable in the GTA. There's been an organized war on youth there for the last 50 years. (I wish I were exaggerating.) Plus, all the snobby fucking rich people that moved in over the last couple of decades. I lived there for waaaaay too long.
People who live downtown don't have to deal with the constant headache that is driving period.
I work all over the place, and my 9-5er is in Markham. I need to drive. Pretty much everywhere. Hence downtown makes me angry lol
Clearly, Toronto-Age is going to have to break up.Yeah, yeah, keep talking inferior suburbanite scum.
At least you don't live in my part of Thornhill, there was a concerted effort to not build places that teens would hang out =/ Now things are a bit better but still, good thing Toronto is not far
Oakville actually banned arcades for that reason sometime in the '90s.
They turned a youth centre in a seniors centre in the '60s when my mom lived there.
When you try to get young people out of sight they just go into basements with their friends and drink and do drugs.
