Showed up to a viewing and they were out of glasses. Thankfully a nice lady shared a pair with my group. People are so nice.

It's weird, it got colder and darker, but the sky is still blue. Kinda creepy but I'm loving it. Definitely gonna have to see a total eclipse some day.

I have a welding helmet with a shade lvl of 13. Is that enough to watch the eclipse

i seen people mention online that 14 was what you needed but also 12. if i were yo i would go for it but to stare too long.

No. It's just from looking at the sun period.

The issue with an eclipse is it's an abnormal event that gets more people looking at the sun.

thats fair, that aligns with other things that I am reading online. the biggest concern is that people are going to star when they normally wouldnt stare and there are no pain receptors telling people to stop
