Toys R' Us Winter Clearance Sale

So these all have like green stickers on them, or are they just basically in a big pile somewhere in the store? I'm gonna head to my local TrUS tomorrow to check it out - don't really need anymore games added to my queue, but the more console games I have to play through my home theater system the better. :D

I really need to build a small form-factor PC with wireless keyboard and mouse just for TV-out and gameplaying, though that ruins the whole hi-res aspect until I get a hi-res TV or projector.

The games that have been put on clearance should be placed out on tables/gondolas/bins in the middle of the R'Zone section. If you're not sure if the game you want is on clearance, have someone do a price check on it and have it scanned in the system.

Also, from my experience most games that have a $14.99 tag on them qualify for the 70% off. But again, have the games scanned to double check. :)

Pretty much every PS1 game is going to be 70% off.

I was working today and finally decided to check the official PS1 LCD screens price.

$11.98 for something that used to be $100+

That is insane.

:lol

owned :)

Anyways, I should have said this before, but if you guys want to get prices on specific games just post them here and when I go into work on Friday I will be able to check them for you. If you have the time to go to www.toysrus.com, look some of them up and post the 6 digit SKU number that would make my life 100 times easier, but that is not required :D

Can I go back and price match the new LCD price? :P

Arent the prices different per store anyway? Some people had them ringing up at $30+

Our prices are normally pretty consistent in our region (Pretty much the entire West Coast). I know a couple things are different, but most of the prices said in this thread are true in my store so I don't know to be honest...

Is there a fatty list yet? I went to my local TRU today, but didn't see a display of cheap games or anything. There were a couple games mentioned in this thread just sitting on the shelves still, though.

One TRU had no winter clearance games that were under $15. I'm going to try and go to another one a little further. The PSone screen was $39 as well. :\

I've been wanting Siren for a while now. My local TRU had it ifor 14 bucks not as cheap

as I'd hoped but oh well.

I also picked up Harry Potter: Chamber of secrets on GBA for $4.75

I figured I could through down some info for canadians out there- Superstore has had a clearance rack through the entire holiday season, likely there are still some games left on it. Excess stock from the last 2 years for all 3 systems , I think everything was 20 bucks.

Also, give a checkout of your local Rogers Video rental stores, they always have used games for sale, varying in price depending on there popularity. One of my local stores has R Type Final for 15 bucks, noone else seems to want it so if its still there this weekend I may pick it up....

Also, stock is likely REALLY limited but London drugs may still have a scant few Console games left depending on location, prices from 10-50 dollars depending on the game, this has been a clearance for a good 2 years now though so chances of finding anything are probally very low.

Finally, Zellers had a 10 dollar clearance bin with Onimusha 2 , shenmue 2 , Disaster report and a bunch of PSone games.

No fatty list, but I still recommend asking at the security window to see their list of clearance games. At our store (boondocks) 90% of the clearance games were still in the security booth, and 75% of those didn't even have tags out on the shelf so you'd know the store had them.

Last trip I got:
GC PN 03 $6

PS2
Magic Pengel $6
EJAY Club world $3
King of Fighters 2001 $9
Sub Rebellion $7.50

Also many of the $9.99-$14.99 PS2 "value" games they have in kiosks around the store are 70% off too, but no advertising of the fact. Saw it on the clearance list under simply "$9.99-$14.99" and the clerk said it was all the value games (which is where the $3 Ejay came from)

This can't be the same at all stores though. There's absolutely no indication that some of the games listed here for cheap are that price at the TRU near me. And like I said, when I checked the price of the PSOne screen, it came up at exactly $34.98 which is what it was priced on the box (with an orange sticker).

So it seems to me that their PLU is totally different by store. There's probably some kind of A,B,C store system and some stores have gotten much larger price cuts on games/accessories than others.

I'd love to grab that KOF 00/01 pack for less than $10 but it was $19.99 when I was in there tonight.

Green tag games will be the same at all stores(now 70% off). There was a huge post over at CAG(cheapassgamer) months ago listing green tag games and it was constantly updated. Should still be there.

Some non green tag games will have different prices at different stores. TRU started a new system where based on sales, inventory, etc. at each store the price is determined. Thats why some stores have the LCDs for $16 and it can go all the way up to $110. CAG has a post on this too.

I got:

1 x Final Fantasy Tactics $5
1 X Gauntlet: Dark Legacy $12
1 X Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (XBX) $5
1 x UFC Tapout (XBX) $6
2 x Mad Maestro $3 each
2 x Primal $5 each

Total was about $44

Are either Primal or Mad Maestro worth opening?
