Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter launches September 19 worldwide for PS5, Switch, and PC

I wonder if I'll give this a go. I really want to play the cold steel games, but I know the first 3 trials are important to the story.

I tired to play trials 1 on my pc and I kinda gave up maybe 50% way through.

I doubt they will remake trails 2 and 3 either

You can start with Cold Steel 1 if you want. You'll miss a few references, but you can easily look them up online. It's Cold Steel 3 & 4 when both the Sky and Crossbell sagas come into play.

As for remaking Sky 2 and 3, Sky 1 & 2 are basically one long game, so not remaking 2 wouldn't make a lot of sense. That said, they could probably get away with not remaking Sky 3, although some of the stories from 3 are really important for later titles.

Unless this game bombs, I can't imagine they wouldn't at least remake 2.

NISA has improved dramatically since they hired Durante. He loves the Trails series and works to make sure that all of the PC ports are top notch.
I'm not talking about performance and optimisation. I'm talking about NISA's shit localisations and "making jokes less sexist" and then closing any discussion about it. Fuck NISA

Remaking SC is no-brainer. Tons of characters and locations are re-used, they can make it pretty cheaply and Falcom is usually pretty efficient.

Regarding the Cold Steel games, if you think you vibe more with those then go for it. Just play Cold Steel 1&2 and then go back to Sky in case.

But if you plan to play the Sky + Crossbell arcs down the line anyway, then play them in release order starting from Sky FC/1st.

Let's not forget..."game key cards are most beneficial option for our customers" -_-
Oh fuck how could I forget that one. I was in disbelief after reading that. Publishers and developers(not all) have become very predatory and arrogant. I want to go back to the day of being called a nerd again.

Played the pc demo a bit, it's a competent port but not on the level of Durante who did the previous falcom ports.
EN estelle is insufferable i switched to jp audio after like 10 minutes, they doctored with the localization for sure just in the first 2 minutes the "My present is a Boy ?" is already cut compared to Xseed.

edit:
Also i hate how important scenes now are cutscenes with forced forwarding dialogue instead of "press A for the next line"

In regards to how the game feels while playing it, it's in essence Trails through Daybreak - Sky edition.

Mmm curious the Spanish location indeed translated the "My present is a boy?"

Just tried a little bit of the demo last night. It seems it's pretty demanding. My Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RX 9070 XT can only run at 40-50 fps in 4K and high setting.

I'm still hating NISA for this name atrocity

Really liked the demo, but was bummed it's not fully voiced for all dialogue.

Still going to play this later this year when I have time.

This looked more like pure spite from them at the time. Don't know who was the dumb fuck on the localisation team that thought it was funny. Let's see how GungHo does and that it's more of a translation than a localisation because translations tend to be better than localisations(mostly), I mean it can only be better than NISA and not worse(I hope)

That seems a little odd my dated 10700k+3080 is getting a locked 120fps 1440p.
The default setting from the game was native 4K with medium setting. It was running fine at 60 fps. Then I tried turning on HDR and the frame rate drops. I just tried upscaling from 1080p and it ran better. Still need to mess with the setting

If this game can't run with all the bells and whistles at 4K/60 on a 9070xt / 5070ti, that's simply ridiculous.
