I guess that means no 3rd, zero, or Ao at this point. I can understand them skipping zero and Ao, but very disappointed in not doing 3rd.
I expect they'll get to those when/if its convenient. Too bad the PC ports for Zero and Ao sound terrible and the Vita versions have Kadokawa and whoever else in the mix too.

Hopefully, NISA will be able to release the game very close to the American release, otherwise I'll need to get a second memory card for my Vita, lol.

And fucking thank you Xseed. I love you guys. I hope all of this will pay out for you.

Nope. PS3 and Vita were the main platforms for the game. Falcom's main fanbase is on consoles nowadays which is why they haven't done PC releases recently.

Ah ok I thought it might have been that but thanks for confirming :) Not that it matters i'll go where the games are.

No 3rd? Trilogy without an end? Sigh..

Still, happy for Sen no Kiseki.

The story of Joshua and Estelle ends in SC. I don't think that 3rd's localization is dependant on this either, since the translations for SC and Sen must have been done by different people considering that they want to release Sen this Fall already.

If SC is a success on steam, who knows whether or not SpaceDrake and his partner might also work on 3rd (if Xseed is still interested in that partnership).

That's fine then. Still, if they give up hopefully some fans will do it in the future, though I'll not hold my breath.

Point is, SC's outcome will influence any decision by XSEED to localize 3rd, as has been clarified by Tom many times over. I'll speculate that Sen being successful will lead to the same for the Crossbell games. Question is, can XSEED somehow get that duo out before Sen II, which expects buyers to have played Ao? It's gonna be rough.

Can some post a short guide which parts are those starting from Trails ?

Beginning with the 6th game in the series, the beginning of the 'Kiseki games,'

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (Sora no Kiseki)
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter

This is a duology about Joshua and Estelle.

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky The 3rd

This is an epilogue with new story threads expanding into the rest of the series.

Legend of Heroes 7:

Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki
Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki

This is a duology set in the Crossbell part of the same world as the Trails in the Sky. Considered by many to be even better than Sky at some points, as well as better gameplay wise.

Legend of Heroes 8:

Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (Sen no Kiseki)
Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II

This is a duology? set in Erebonia and what we're talking about now.

Nayuta no Kiseki is a spinoff unrelated to any of this.

FC Evolution for the Vita is releasing next week in Japan so maybe there'll be a Evo version for SC.

EDIT:

I really doubt it. Chara-Ani probably won't let XSEED use the Japanese voice acting, which is one of the main draws of this version in the first place. Plus, that's a shitload of dubbing even if it was dub-only.

Oh yeah, I forgot Chara-Ani was involved in the Evo versions. One can only hope.

Got the good word out.

Looks like my prediction about releasing on currently relevant platforms was on the money, though it was an easy one.

And I will say this; a lot of you guys out there (you know who you are) gave up hope on Sen, or thought we would be waiting until 2020 for localizations. It just so happens that XSEED is so based that they can't help but do all this work at light speed.

My only disappointment is that a PC version is not possible. But that's the least of my worries.

Holy smokes, I think I might go for the PS3 version to enjoy it on the big screen.
Today is a good day, and Fall 2015? Xseed is on fire this year!

It's not that a PC version isn't possible, but that Falcom plans and moves slower than other companies, so if they're about to cater to Western PC fans more closely it's taking a while. They're even busier than XSEED given the scale of their pipeline vs. personnel duties/quantity.

So Sen really is coming this year, uh? How in the hell did they pull that one off? Have they been working on it all along while also doing FC PC and SC?

I'm just glad it's coming and I'll be grabbing both for Vita but man, it's such a bummer that they're skipping 3 games. I really hope the Crossbell PC stuff can be sorted out at some point in the near future. And I kinda want to be optimistic here considering recent statements about how much Falcom were pleased with the sales of the Steam releases.

Sucks about the no PC thing, but I will most likely dust off my PS3 for this or hell if possible might even get it on my PSTV I bought recently.

A very nice surprise indeed! But personally, I'm still waiting for SC before I actually get excited about "Cold Steel".

It's a shame that we're going to skip Zero and Ao but understandable. Also, getting it on the Vita since Vita means Life.

I think for the future they will plan ahead for multi a release including PC. Thats how i interpret the last Interview with there COE.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Just so you know guys, Sen no Kiseki is playable on Vita TV.

I'm happy for this localization and I hope it's going to be published here in Europe as well with not to much delay respect of the USA version, but I'm still waiting to be able to play on my vita the conclusion of the story started with Trails in the Sky .... :(

XSEED and NISA getting the job done between them.

Cannot wait. Considering how barren things seemed for my Vita purchasing habits at the start of this year, it's going to be a hectic second half (which has already kicked off with Steins;gate).

Can't wait. Day 1!

Um... so there's a good chance now that us non-Japanese speaking peasants may get the entire series storyline before too long???

The Kiseki games is probably the number 1 reason I am going to take Japanese night classes.

How fluent in the language does one need to be for these games? Should I just import them all for PS3?

Kiseki games use college-level Japanese, a lot of the time, and there is a LOT of dialogue. SC was the biggest translation project in localization history for games IIRC.

I'm really worried that playing Sen without the others will be like watching Return of the Jedi without having seen The Empire Strikes Back. Like, I met Luke in the first one and know what a Jedi is but all of a sudden Han is a prisoner Vader is Luke's what now?! It would still be enjoyable without the middle movie but it would be impossible to go back and enjoy the best movie of the trilogy the way it was intended.

Long winded moan aside, excited as hell and getting both PS3 and Vita physical versions.

For all of the people upset about TC, from what I understand, it's more of a lead-in to the next two games. FC & SC together form a fairly self-contained story.

XSEED is putting out a blog post today discussing the future of the Kiseki series.
It will likely be comprehensive.

Great! These announcements have made me want to get through TiTS and Corpse Party all over again. Can't await to see what plans they have for the Kiseki games.

Based XSEED! Thanks again. You've given many Vita owners our own E3 today.

DAMN! XSEED is really trying to be my favorite publisher in the entire industry. I think they'll be there by the end of today.

I'm pretty damn certain E3 will not be more satisfying than today.

I hope they'll also talk about how they realize Sen's localization for a bit. I remember Tom saying in the past that the Trails games are so extensive that they wouldn't be able to release any other game in a given year if they tackled the series heads on. And now, suddenly, they were able to localize both Second Chapter and Sen at the same time - and not only that, 2015 seems to be absolutely packed with Xseed releases.

Have they outsourced the localization to Sen to someone else (similarly to what they've done with Second Chapter)? Or is this just some kind of magic?
