I just wanted to comment I think that the general reaction of "Are you afraid of your own sexuality" to your more purile and immature critics isn't, y'know, helpful. Whether or not they're afraid of their own sexuality, repressed homosexuals, in the closet etc. doesn't really matter, and engaging on that in a combative fashion probably isn't going to help, and is probably just going to aggravate matters.

Luckily, I have been exploring transgender specific forums and even joined one. 
I tried shaving my thighs earlier last week, which was a huge mistake. I screwed up and had some very bad razor burn on my thighs for a few days. :\ I did shave my arms, though.

Hopefully you have a good experience at the TG forum that you joined. I found one last year that I joined, and ended up getting turned off by the experience pretty quickly. Don't get me wrong: it's a great resource, and a nice place to talk about things or ask questions without feeling weird about doing so. For me, though, I found being on a forum specifically dedicated to that topic to be incredibly heavy emotionally; it's hard to talk about things casually when you always have this huge cloud of mental, emotional, and physical issues weighing down everybody who is a member.
Plus, I actually like having people who aren't TG taking part in the discussion most of the time. There are those times when it's nice to get away from that and be able to talk shop directly to people who understand your situation, but that's what things like IM and whatnot are great for.
As for shaving, I remember some months ago when I decided it'd be a great idea to use an electric razor to shave my underarms. I think, years and years ago, I had learned why that was such a bad idea; obviously, I forgot the lesson that I had learned, and had to learn it again.

I was so disappointed, I even printed out The Harry Benjamin Standards of Care. :\ He set up an appointment for me to meet with someone who will hopefully be able to find me a therapist for the summer. Unfortunately, I don't believe there are any gender therapists near where I'll be for the summer.

Well, you seem to have a pretty good grip on the situation. *laughs* Lately it's gotten REALLY bad, and then cooled down, then gotten bad again, then cooled down again. A few weeks ago I was pretty certain that we were over, but the next day things got better.
A little under a week ago, though, we had a fight, and that came up (as it tends to do), and in talking about things she told me with 100% certainly that her mind will not change (concerning not being able to stay with me should I decide that I need to transition). I was kind of hoping that, in thinking about things, she might at least budge a little bit on being open to at least trying to see if things would work if that were to happen, but no go.

Damn, sorry to hear. Your situation is a little different from others like lexi and Jamie, as while they're single and going through this transformation now, you've gone and done the whole married thing . I guess that's why I'm interested in seeing how it goes as there's a close second party in the whole thing.

Shidoshi, I'm really sorry to hear about your wife's ultimatum. Love is often converted from romantic to platonic through a transition - not just gender transitions, but all kinds of life transitions. It sounds like your wife is just being honest and upfront with you about what she knows would happen in her heart. Maybe you would find yourself unable to love your wife in the same way you do now as well once you go further down the track, growing into a different version of what you are now. It's a real issue, I'm sorry you have to face it.
