Trump campaign has just $1.3M cash on hand

Does he need money when he's already convinced people to vote for him? I think most people have decided and are making up their own lore about the man. He can just do online support? It's not like bigots are going to vote for a woman, or any other gop representative.

Er...he's down big in every poll and with no big campaign spending it hurts down ticket races as well.

When are people going to realize the primary and GE go by completely different rule sets

Holy shit is that real?

There is no way. No way. Please tell me this is true. And why isn't this the final straw?

Good time for everyone to re-read this article: https://heatst.com/politics/donald-trumps-money-is-a-myth-will-he-bankrupt-the-rnc-too/

The evidence is mounting, and quickly, that his promises to fund his campaign are just one more Trump con; a shell, a hollow edifice of fake-it-til-you-make-it. Trump, is by the standards of 99.9% of Americans, a wealthy man, but he’s not liquid enough to fund an actual modern campaign. It’s not simply that he doesn’t have the money; it’s that his mythos requires that no one ever figure out that he doesn’t have the money

So ..... imagine Trump steps down and the GOP picks someone else for him to endorse so his supporters (basically the Republican base today) show up to the polls. Would have to be someone palpable to the lunatics who wanted Trump but also a legitimate threat to Hillary in GE.

Not sure that person exists for the GOP. Their party is divided. If Trump drops out his lunatic supporters will probably convince themselves that he was forced out and riot.

No. He would just keep loaning his campaign money. I guess they can choose to be publicly funded? I assume the deadline hasn't passed on that option. He can choose to get around $100 million in taxpayer funding:
http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/pubfund_limits_2016.shtml

Trump would only take the public money if he's desperate, although with these figures, he might be.

He can get $96m in public funding, but he can't fundraise on top of that for more campaign funding. He can take private donations for legal and administrative fees directly related to complying with campaign finance laws, but the actual campaign has to be bankrolled from the public money otherwise.

For an idea of what $96m for a presidential campaign looks like, in 2012 both Romney and Obama raised over a billion. Each.

It's impossible. There is nobody like that because if there were, we would have seen them in the primaries. I don't think even Ryan could put up a good fight at this point. Who do they got to put out there, Cruz?

God, he is so damn fucked. I'm still digesting this.

He has to spend time fundraising. She's on a low-risk, media-friendly tea-sippin' tour of the swing states.

Trump only wishes that he could take a tea-sippin tour of the swing states, considering how he's going to have to work to keep states like *Utah* in the R column this time around. Between the collapsing support, the complete lack of campaign money (Bernie has 4x as much on hand and he's not even really in the race anymore!) and the across-the-board hatred of the man by everyone who isn't a straight white male (and even most of them too), it ain't looking good for the GOP this year. My only hope is that this shitshow can hold on long enough to lock him in at the convention. I'd rather not see the GOP go to replace him with someone (marginally) more electable.

Yes, he needs money. He needs to buy ads in competitive states. That isn't even a suggestion, it has to happen for him to run a general election campaign. The self funding lean campaign during the primaries was very effective for the base he was speaking to, but the comments that get him free air time aren't going to win over undecided voters. Combine that Hillary bombarding local networks with negative ads with no response from his side and he'll have lost before the game has even started.

I think this is going to be a low turnout election for Republicans. People will just stay home. Democrats will drum up the troops with a Defeat the Dragon that is Trump narrative and it's done.

There's no defeating Hillary Clinton this year. The election belongs to her.

This would be about mitigating the damage. Save as much of their downticket as possible.

Kick Trump to the curb and run the most respectable politician that ran for the nom this year:

Is Trump Ice an ice cube company?

7 Trump Businesses You Didn't Know Existed

"Trump Ice is a bottled water brand owned by Donald Trump. The winner of "The Apprentice" season two, Kelly Perdew, served as executive vice president of the organization until recently. Currently, the company's website has been taken down and the product can no longer be found in national grocery chains and stores.

Trump Ice was distributed by Mountain Spring Water in the East Coast. The company was used as a gimmick in season one of "The Apprentice," where contestants had to market and sell the product. Since then, it has fallen on hard times and out of distribution."

I wanted him as the nominee; PoliGAF can provide the receipts going back to last Summer. I knew that for Hillary to have the best chance at victory, knowing her flaws, she'd need an absolute trainwreck as her opponent.

I had a pretty good hunch that he'd be a horrible GE candidate, but never in my wildest dreams did I think he could be this disastrous. So. Very. Disastrous. This is amazing to witness.

Indeed. But ... I'm worried the GOP will try something at or before the convention. I wish it wasn't so far aware. I want him locked down as the nominee.

I mean, that ultimately, he's not going to convince many people that aren't already full fledged kkk members moving forward.. bigots aren't going to have a change of heart and go Hillary?

On the fence states, are sort of as they are. There's only so many trump supporters to gain with campaigning, that haven't already signed up for the hate parade.

Reps vote more than dens by default.

No one even came close to winning that nomination outside of trump. They would be hard pressed to explain giving the nomination to someone else now. How are they going to explain their continued support for him up until the convention?

Classiest bottled water ever.

That definitely makes more sense than ice cubes.

Wait, wait. Trump's entire campaign staff is 30 people? Has it always been this small?

Doesn't Hillary have hundreds of direct employees?

Only 30 staff members ? Is that standard ?

He hasn't needed staff. Trump, for all the despicable stuff he says, is an absolute expert and keeping media attention on him. He hasn't needed to spend in the primaries to get noticed. He gets free promotion from the press. As far as engaging the Republican Base, it's the perfect example of "there's no such thing as bad publicity".

To be fair, all of that plus the $5M for his plane and $423k for his Mar-a-lago home are about 10% of the total campaign expenditure during that period.

Taking contributions and putting them back into drump businesses doesn't cover the 47m he put in himself. Unless there's some weird tax laws going on

And the RNC still won't kick him out because Paul Manafort will convince everyone that things will change.

Like, I'm sure he'll hire more people in swing states over the next few weeks (and lol pay them with what?) and make some moves with big RNC fundraisers, but, like, wow. There are few words to describe this disaster.

She's going to eat him alive.

I imagine the election going thusly: Trump loses by significant margins. But having funneled all the money from his campaign to himself, he chooses to move into the newly opened Trump International Hotel at the Old Post Office which overlooks the White House. He then spends his days feuding with National Park Rangers who refuse to let him back into the Old Post Office Tower after he tried to steal and sell one of the bells.

I cannot fathom how dumb the person at the GSA who agreed to Trump's 140 year lease on the Old Post Office must feel. Or, should feel.

First presidential debate: Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio

Vice presidential debate: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.

Second presidential debate: Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Washington University in St. Louis

Third presidential debate: Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

From UsaToday

The Vice Presidential debate will be interesting. The VP is going to have to support Trump's platform and it's not going to be easy to be as full of shit as Trump.

Trump playing Americans like a damn fiddle.

Hillary should slip him some cash too, she could get away with murder as long as he's her opponent.

I'm not a expert in American politics, buy why don't he just makes Mexico pay for his campaign?
Not so
serious question.

There are enough GOP members who are still in the "hold their nose and vote" mindset. Hillary is going to turn him so toxic that even they can't justify it

Please. The lines have be crossed many many times. He's getting endorsements saying mexicans can't judge him. And that isn't even the worst.

I really want to know who these hold outs are.

Are they cave dwellers? No media? The sun hit their tunnels, then they come out to vote..? Still on the fence about supporting him all this time, I need to see receipts.
