BREAKING: Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe says ex-director Comey had broad support in the FBI, contradicting White House claims.

I don't mind the GOP making the point of confirming the Russian investigation hasn't been effected, because it will make it much easier to hold people accountable if the new Trump appointed Director takes a single agent off that investigation.

Been hearing this on other news networks last night. As I've said, WH lying as usual just to try and change the perception with the public.

Ignoring Trump and that circus for a second, it is quite amusing to see the US making a big fuss about Russia interfering in elections when the CIA has been doing that (and worse) for the best part of 60 years.

Do as we say, not as we do.

This is kind of a liberals versus the left thing, or put another way nationalists versus internationalists. The government and the media are all nationalistic, which is part of the built in problem and paradox with the Democratic party.

To be fair to GAF, post a story about the CIA interfering somewhere and you will see many angry replies.

I don't know where you're from or your intentions, though. If your perspective is just the opposite of an American nationalist, take a walk.

I'm pretty sure McCabe is smart enough to know he never had a chance at keeping the position anyway.

Zero reason to suck up to Trump and his whims.

Jesus Christ, if this doesn't completely and utterly tank Trump and get Republicans to finally flip then I don't even know what to say. Firing the guy investigating you is one thing, but the clusterfuck of a story around it and the fact that the FBI is going directly against them should be a nail in the coffin.

McCabe is basically daring Trump to fire him too.

I've seen enough of this shit not to predict any act as Trump's downfall, but immediately firing McCabe would certainly not help him out.

Rosenstein seeks meeting with Senate Intelligence leaders

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has requested to meet with the Senate Intelligence Committee, including committee chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and vice-chairman Mark Warner (D-Va.), sources told POLITICO.

Rosenstein was seen walking into the Senate Intelligence Committee space as the panel was holding a hearing on worldwide threats.

The request came after President Donald Trump unceremoniously fired FBI Director James Comey, citing a three-page letter from Rosenstein questioning the director’s fitness to serve. It also came amid reports that Rosenstein, a well-regarded federal prosecutor, was furious over the White House’s characterization of his apparent recommendation and even threatened to quit.

He needs to be fired to continue along the Nixon timeline.

whats your point? USA sanctioned Russia and moved on.

Thats not really what this is about, this is about the current elected president potentially colluding with another nation to win the election.

This would be like Columbia investigating their own president if the CIA helped to get him elected.

I assume the people in those countries are also totally mad about it, so it seems pretty much the same to me.

Come on Rosenstein. Appoint a special prosecutor and dare Trump to do anything about it.

He got his name tarnished he is probably pissed the fuck off.

He's gotta be pissed. His letter didn't recommend a firing and was probably only written under the condition that he could actually write what he believed, which was that Comey was wrong in what he did but that's about it. Trump throwing him under the bus has to be a last straw.
