Trump plans withdrawal from South Korea trade deal.

President Trump has instructed advisers to prepare a withdrawal from the U.S.’s free trade agreement with South Korea, several people close to the process said, a move that would stoke economic tensions with the U.S. ally at a time both countries confront a crisis over North Korea’s nuclear weapons program.

A number of senior White House officials are trying to prevent Trump from withdrawing from the agreement, including national security adviser H.R. McMaster, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, and National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn, these people said.

Signed during Bush 2nd term. But SK sort of got the better end of the stick here and that is why Trump wants to reverse it. He apparently thinks everything should only benefit the US first and foremost. He doesn't understand how trade and diplomacy work.

In the end,just another wary ally who will look to China and India instead. China is rubbing their hands with glee. They can now use this as leverage to say see, the US only uses you for NK. Just a senile moron.

This is exactly what he campaigned on.

This is all to renegotiate better deals so "America doesn't get ripped off". He's been saying this shit since the 80s.

Problem is, trade is a mutually beneficial agreement that benefits both parties! It's not a zero sum game like the only kind of game a "fuck you, got mine" bully from Queens would understand! Oops!

China already is SK's largest trading partner, tho, and by a significant margin.

Not that they won't love this, of course.

Guessing Trump asked SK for their blessing to nuke NK and they said "uh are you fucking stupid", so now he wants revenge.
