Wow haha... US never got such an arrogant president in the past right?

I can't believe that our president is an alleged child rapist and a fraudster.

Well, while that is true, I wouldn't be gloating that they could have got more from you.

Wait... by saying that he opted to settle because it would result in a smaller award (for the prosecuting party) is he admitting that he would have lost (and paid a huge amount)?

He's implying he would win and receive some sort of substantial payout. Instead he took the moral high ground by settling the suit to focus on being the leader of the god damn most powerful country in human history.

The fuck is happening in our world?

The future President of the United States paid $25 million for defrauding people of their life savings.

Fuck

The allegations against Trump University were public knowledge at a time in our history whereby any one can access vast amounts of information from a device in their pocket.

People still wanted to vote for a man who defrauded others of their life savings as their president. If there is anything worth noting here, it is the failure of the education system in the United States; tens of millions of people are unable to think critically.

This was expected.

The judge wanted them to settle, even. As someone who went through this from the victims side (accepting a plea bargain) there's a TON of pressure to just do that and not let it go to full court.

so he says small fraction of potential award... which means he admits that the allegations were true?

He's just saying that even though he's paying money, he's won because they could have asked for more. Also he's president to so yeah, WINNER

And if that wasn't clear... the second tweet reminds you that he would have won the trial if he tried. But he couldn't, because he won the presidency and there is only but so much winning a guy can take

"I'm not guilty, I did nothing wrong, I'm completely exonerated by these actions today. I only paid them a very very small portion of my fortunes in order to dedicate myself to preparing to run this nation with 100% of my focus. No distractions. That's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for this country, and it's just the first of many."

Or something along those lines.

Prepare to get plagiarized...

He settled because he can't do more than one thing at once. Sad!
The judge actually recommended that the parties settle due to the results of the election. Can someone tell me why NYC would listen to him though?

<sigh> There is no justice for peasants

President elect settling a case of fraud lol

this fucking country man

We've had a lot of fraud cases settled out of court within the last decade where you pay a small fraction of the potential fine while admitting no wrongdoing. It's normal now in the US unless you're a small fry instead of a high roller.

Fraud settles fraud. Well done Mr President!

Anyway, this means his $10 billion has probably dropped to 10% or so...considering how much more 'Trump dollars' [my brand inflates my worth/my ego/my fatassself] are worth than anybody elses dollars.

Edit: Hahaha Trump's response haha. This fucking guy

It's pretty gross that people will accept this as him having more money than time, instead of him being a snake oil salesman.

If there's one thing I know, it's that someone who would steal the life savings of desperate people, is that they REALLY REALLY care about desperate people.

Can't wait for Trump to start building a new University chain in the rust belt.

Free unicorns for every student.

Just sign on the X!

Jesus Christ.

Emails vs this....and this was considered the lesser evil...

Amazing, absolutely amazing.

America is truly going to be the laughing stock of the entire world.

This reality where Trump is his own laywer that handles all the lawsuit is so odd.

Too bad because building the case would've given a us a glimpse for his MO.

This thread has under 200 replies and the Hamilton thread is up over 1000. Working exactly as intended I guess.

what are people supposed to do lol

he settled. You want people to riot over that? Make it a big deal? What is that supposed to accomplish, exactly? "He settled! Take him down!"

JESUS FORBES CAN I READ THIS ARTICILE I CLICKED 10 TIMES ON YOUR CONTINUE BUTTON

I hate these sites, I'm just sitting here, looping on quote of the day page, click to article
You can but you'll have to disable your ad blocker or you'll continue to run into that.

There is something about how, even on a forum that rejects Trump like neogaf, this gets less attention and coverage than measly "possible scandals" about someone like Clinton. Here's a massive condemnation of Trump as a business man and a law-abiding human being, but the story just doesn't explode. Almost as if Trump successfully entered the race as a lawless candidate. Sad.

What a mockery of our modern day systems this man has made of it. It has only shown how more clearly lopsided and uneven it is to the average citizen.

This man bet big and will be going home with a huge payout from his presidency along with his friends and family. Enjoy the idiocy, it's going to be a deeper hole we will be digging from.

I bet he will quickly amass the actual billion dollar fortune he has proclaim.

The media at least could have maybe tried spending as much time on this as they did on Clinton's emails. They certainly made a big deal over little to nothing there, shouldn't be hard to drum up some interest when there's actual substance to an accusation like this one.

Liberals voters took an issue with Trump University, the conservative voters I knew didn't give a shit about it. But, many liberals did give a shit about Clinton's emails

big difference

How many liberal voters cared about Clinton's emails before the news networks were practically throttling everyone with how "important" they were 24/7 for months on end?

Do the same for Trump U and I'm sure you'd find the number of conservatives who care growing the more they hear about it.

I don't have exact numbers, but the Trump voters I knew were unfazed by any Trump U coverage, they just thought it was media bullshit. But many liberal voters I knew were quite fazed by the email scandal and some didn't vote or even voted for Trump

"any Trump U coverage" was a whole lot less than the clinton email coverage, esp. since it can blur together with the Benghazi investigations, since there was a lot of talk about emails there too. We've been hearing about "clinton emails" in conjunction with possible wrongdoing for years now. Trump U coverage doesn't compare in the slightest, which is why the "big difference" in concern that you noted exists. Keep attaching the word "fraud" to the majority of Trump coverage for next few years and see how well he fairs, even with conservatives.
