Trump to introduce immigration plan. Campaign denies path to citizenship

That is sad. Why is that? Is it because Bernie didnt win which tends to be the overwhelming comment from those who are now disenfranchised on the liberal side. I mean, sure, they cant see the forest for the trees and would rather sabotage everything that liberals have been working for for years because "anyone but Hillary" but I am sure that is a mature and rational response.

It's because he's a Trump supporter and thus more likely to meet other Trump supporters and the people he knows are less likely to bring up the fact that they would vote for people other than Trump to avoid confrontation. It's simple.

Ive been paying some attention to gary johnson, the guy is literally right up my alley, but sadly its a lost cause. Maybe ill vote for him just to vote for someone I like, even if it is a lost cause. But depending on how bad things get with either clinton or trump, it may not be wise to waste a vote.

I mean, if things haven't already been burned to the ground by Trump for you, I don't know what to say.

Trump never actually said he'd deport all illegal immigrants. Remember the big, beautiful door he used to talk about? Trump will spin this as saving money on transportation costs, he is a persuasive genius.

If in the end his platform has the most benefits to everyday people, is pretty consistent and his opponent continues to be a chronic liar, I think you'll be surprised at what people end up believing.
What is this? What am I reading?

Your vote is your own private personal statement. It won't alter the outcome of the election.

I don't believe this. Why bring Bannon, a notorious racist/anti-immigration advocate, and then offer "amnesty" to illegal immigrants? I'd be more apt to believe this if Manafort was running the show.

Guessing they're going for the subtle racism approach now. Tell Hispanics what they wanna hear while making Merkel comments about immigrants that only white supremacists will understand, and putting out an ad about scary immigrants where he references a group that is just crazy about eugenics and racial purity.

Isn't his base largely independents?
This is fantastic for independents that hate seeing party line policies.

Did you miss the pom-pom waving for Trump during the RNC for 4 days straight? Dude is every bit a Republican as everyone else in that party. The only reason why they're not supporting him is because he's losing badly. If he were winning the pom-poms would be waved so hard their arms would fall off.

There's also a big, big difference between an independent, and an "independent" (aka no party affiliation but vote almost exclusively for one party and align perfectly with that ideology).

This idiot has been spouting out that he wants to deport all illegals all through the debates and the primaries, Fuck off with this, you don't care and this is bullshit

Pretty much. He's already lost the Hispanic vote and I don't see it getting better with any BS he spews for the rest of the campaign.

How many indepedents do you actually know, and many already lean Repub?

The independents I know are mostly from the workplace. Most are graduate degree holders (one is in grad school atm). All live very comfortably in the suburban areas.

I don't have proof of their voting history but last election cycle I'm guessing they mostly went for republican local elections and Democrat in the national arena based on the conversations we've had.

It would be interesting to see Trump pivot into a much more conventional Republican candidate. The person who pulled the veneer from the Republican base, showed the world what it is, and revealed the cracks in the Republican coalition, then going on to be the one to give the traditional approach another shot. After he loses, and regular Republicans continue to be regular Republicans, Trump supporters won't be able to say, "Way to ditch us! We'll be back in the primaries! blah blah blah," since their own candidate ditched them first.

You're in the Diablos zone.

I am. As someone who is looking to begin the process of working in the US and potentially living and starting a family here, this presidency and the next one are incredibly important. I also come from Southeast Asia, a region of the world with increasingly expanding ISIS cells and terrorism attacks.

Also: Trump's base is silly, angry and blind.

Granted, I don't have that much experience with US politics so I'll take you guys' words for it. I want nothing but to see Trump's campaign burn and collapse and take the current incarnation of the Republican Party down with it.

The Republican party now officially treating Trump like that dumb kid in the group project. They're just plowing ahead on their own.

I hope you are able to feel comfortable starting a life here, bud. There are lots of us who welcome that.

not sure what this does for him. it might get a few more Hispanics on his side, but he'll lose support of some of his base.

I think it's indicative of how dumb and one-dimensional he thinks minorities are. He objectifies them and thus thinks that brief talking points are enough to affect them in a real manner.

I was stunned by this news.

I hope he only makes his situation worse because my dream is Hillary gets as close to 538 electoral votes as possible.

Certainty his campaign does and some of his supporters. It looks like they think he has some kind of personality that people will like if he changes some statements.

I think that's definitely true, but we're talking about millions upon millions of voters in the general election. We've had well over a year of Trump the Completely Indefensible Asshole, for people who aren't already looking for reasons to like him, things like this aren't going to change enough minds to make a dent in the general.

We'll see what he does in the future. Personally I think his campaign is way too far gone for a hail-Mary moment. The amount of shit he has to overcome is insurmountable, and this is assuming that 1) Trump never ever fucks up again between now and the election and 2) Hillary doesn't do anything to fight back. Remember that Hillary has essentially done nothing these past several weeks while Trump continues to implode. She hasn't even needed to go on the offensive.

Schrödinger's Trump
For and against everything until actually elected. Let's not find out.

I mean, aren't you at all curious? It might be hilarious lol lawl gbye America

Anyway, I'm off to get some Skittles from the suburban convenience store whilst statistically not worrying about getting shot, deported, denied a loan, or pregnant. Can't wait to watch corrupt and pandering Washington burn this place to the ground lmfao.

Stop calling Democrats the "Amnesty Party" Reagan gave 22 Million Illegalls Citizenship Amnesty.
The score card is Dems 3 Million a temp stay & Repugs 22 Million Citizenship Amnesty

I worked for the INS back in 1986 - 1987 durring the Reagan Citizenship Amnesty. I stopped voting for the Repugs after having a front row seat to this horror.
I don't think that's the real James Madison btw

Interesting to see if this hurts him at all with his base. I figure it won't.

I doubt it's going to help him with Latinos. He made that bed months ago.

Says shit about Mexicans
Takes back shit said about Mexicans
Is a certified truth-teller

I'm so confused. None of this makes any sense!

Cruz wanted his New York Times private interview tape because of these rumors, seems similar, I doubt this is a policy he'll be speaking of, or it will be a vague "let a few of the good ones stay"
