Here's my prediction for the reason why they are doing back to back weeks of directs.

They are going to reveal a ton of Switch 1 games for 2025 so they can soften the blow their stock value takes when next week they announce Switch 2 isn't coming out until November 2025 whereas everyone thought it'd be May/June.

Nintendo probably held on to announcing more Switch games and their release timing until they knew if they could hit an earlier release date for Switch 2 but now they know they can't and they need to save face when everyone is pissed that Switch 2 got "delayed" again.

One direct is just before the end of fiscal year 2025 and the other is just after the beginning of fiscal year 2026. No rumours about delays still and given they already are manufacturing consoles I doubt they will just freeze them for 8 months more. All that takes storage and storage is not free.

Right before Switch 2 next week.

Gotta be taking out the trash. Expecting nothing. Princess Peach Showtime! 2. Mario Kart GBC added to Nintendo Online.

True but it still seems like a very strange thing to do before your big direct next week.

I expect a good couple of years of Switch releases after the Switch 2 launches.

The 3DS still had games after the Switch launched.

Considering Furukawa said repeatedly they want to release with ample stock to combat scalpers, yes I think they will sit on and stockpile systems for 10 months.

Hopefully news about Prime Echos and Prime 3 Remasters/Remakes that have been supposedly done for a long time, along with Switch versions of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

Outside of that, likely some Indies.

I still wonder if Switch 1 is getting a new Tecmo Bowl, and Madden would be on Switch 2. Will be interesting to see. Same with Mario Baseball.

DQ 1&2 seem likely. Also looking to see if we see anything else from Capcom… Resident Evil OG trilogy from GOG for example. Possible Star Wars squadrons or PvZ collection from EA?

Finally tomorrow we will know if MP2 is being remastered at all. If we do not see it, i say it is definitely a GC service release!

What is this madness. Eating good on Nintendo goodness.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after Nintendo Directs, for they shall be filled.

Cant imagine them showing us some heavy hitting cross gen games this show.
Gotta save that thunder for next week.

I expect mostly nothing burger.

Leak was legit despite sounding very iffy.

Probably remasters, as Retro used his work on the Prime remake(ster) to work on MP4 Beyond

metroid prime 5, super mario 4 and pokemon 2 launch titles
the witcher 4 announcement, cyberpunk 2077 launch title
wwe 2k26 will only release on switch#
lego rock raiders HD remake announcement
nintendo VR headset releasing 1 week before switch 2 so you have a week to set it up and get comfortable

Metroid Prime 5? What you talking about? We get MP4 on the Switch 2.

Curious about this.

Switch 2 direct is exactly a week today, I wonder if that's just going to be an overview of the hardware alongside cost and online subscription fee increases? Maybe with a trailer for MK9 and a release date? I thought we'd see a games blow out but not so sure now.

If they keep the megaton bombs for Switch 2 unveil then its gonna be a boring one. How many anime farm RPGs we can have in 30 minutes?

Gotta make good on those marketing deals but don't wanna waste time in the Switch 2 direct. Can't wait to see more of that terrible Hobbit game.

I hope they announce that they will port all of their existing games to Steam, and from now on release a PC version of their future titles within 6 months of Switch 2 release.

I don't think that makes too much sense.
it's not like anyone thought there won't be any games coming to the Switch this year. and any bigger game will probably not be announced tomorrow and released before the Switch 2 launches, even if was very late in the year.
so the only thing this direct could do is announce small games that release between now and the Switch 2 launch, which wouldn't have much of an impact either way.
it's not like they will announce a new big first party title that will release 2 months later or something.

this direct is probably now in order to not overshadow Switch 1 releases by the Switch 2 announcement. give them a few days in the spotlight before Nintendo announces their launch lineup and first year of releases on the Switch 2.

"Look at all the games that are going to run like trash on the switch and please be excited about playing better on switch 2, later this year"

They still gotta throw a few bones to Switch 1 through the year. That long rumored Fire Emblem remake, a Kirby platformer remaster, Wind Waker HD, stuff like that. The most intriguing prospect for this one is if we will see more (including a release date) on Metroid Prime 4, which at this point is still a Switch 1 game only as far as we actually know. Well, that and Silksong, but we know how that always goes...

They may be contractually obligated to show some of these upcoming third party games in a "Nintendo Direct" presentation. Makes sense to do it here than to dilute the big show next week.

Why on earth would it need to be delayed, we've known everything about it for over a year.

Maybe they will show Switch games. Only 150 million consoles out there, probably good idea to show they are supporting it. Just a crazy idea, I know.

I'm holding out hope for a new Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. For Switch 1 & 2.

That's probably one of the more likely reveals.

Doubt big guns like the next 3D Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros. etc. are gonna be there as Nintendo probably wants all of those as Switch 2-only (and rightfully so).

Will probably be dominated by smaller 3P titles and maybe some bigger one, all cross-gen.

Wow

I was totally wrong... but glad Im tho, im excited

New StarFox? StarFox Zero without the BS control?! (Dreaming is free)

Here me out...

ARMS 2.
