Tune in tomorrow, March 27th, at 7 a.m. PT for a livestreamed Nintendo Direct (30 Minutes)

I'm definitely surprised this is real. I wonder if it'll take any of the wind out of the Switch 2 Direct. Definitely weird timing, but whatever, I'll take it.

Regardless of what they show their will be something that will peak my interest to play. But Metroid Prime 4 though! Seriously I want a street date for that game and hopefully they reveal it tomorrow!

Metroid Prime 2 & 3 remasters

Zelda WW and TP collection

Those are my two firm bets

Here's my prediction for the reason why they are doing back to back weeks of directs.

They are going to reveal a ton of Switch 1 games for 2025 so they can soften the blow their stock value takes when next week they announce Switch 2 isn't coming out until November 2025 whereas everyone thought it'd be May/June.

Nintendo probably held on to announcing more Switch games and their release timing until they knew if they could hit an earlier release date for Switch 2 but now they know they can't and they need to save face when everyone is pissed that Switch 2 got "delayed" again.
For heavens sake it's not coming out in November. Otherwise there wouldn't be a direct on 4/2 it would be in June. First of all. Also it doesn't match up with the summer play preview tours. Let it go. It comes out in the next 90 days for sure.

I think they'll focus on Metroid Prime 4 tomorrow since it's coming out for the switch. Then on the April 2nd Direct they'll simply show a lengthy gameplay clip of it with a bunch of added visual upgrades that the Switch 2 allows.

Honestly at this point I hope we just get a last round of remasters - gimme Prime 2/3 and Zelda TP/WW. I can see them highlighting MP4 if they're still committed to following through on that being a Switch game too.

Maybe give me DK64 and DKR for Switch Online, little teaser before a potential new DK for Sw2.

That's a sure way to deflate hype...and excitement. They want people to look forward to getting the TRUE experience on Switch 2 as a must-have, Not just a decent upgrade.

The Switch 1 version will be for those who can't get a Switch 2 and still want their promise fulfilled. Think BOTW with Wii U and Switch. The Switch version was considered The true version that they wanted you to get.

My employer purposefully scheduled an all hands meeting during the Switch 2 direct, but they currently haven't scheduled anything for this one, hopefully they won't have time to come up with another slide deck that just says "AI" 50,000 times.

While it's odd that the Direct is now and not in February, there's nothing surprising about wanting a separate presentation to reveal the remaining Switch games. Remember E3 2017 when Nintendo's presentation was 100% devoted to the Switch, and then they just casually revealed Metroid Samus Returns on 3DS shortly after? That was rather awkward and probably didn't help its sales. So there's no reason to find something sinister here. Yeah, it's weird that this wasn't a month ago, but whatever.

In any case, for those curious, the two most heavily rumored games (outside of the long speculated Metroid Prime 2/3 and WW/TP remasters) are a Kirby Planet Robobot port and Fire Emblem 4 Remake. Personally, I'll be happy with the latter.

i want all 4 of those so bad.

Me too man. I think that's all that's left (the Zeldas) from the Wii U era that really needs to be brought over

I really want those NES Remixes as well. That World Champion bs just doesn't cut it for me.

Metroid Prime 2 & 3.

Wind Waker & Twilight Princess

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Chrono Trigger

Parasite Eve 1 & 2

That's pretty much what I want for my Switch collection right now.

That sounds like a good shout.

It's amazing that this game isn't already on the Switch and other consoles.

Yeah it's crazy that it hasn't hit current gen consoles. I love Square Enix but their management is straight up trash and should be immediately replaced by people who want to earn money.

on wc i was hoping that game was nes remix 3 but just a new name sadly no

And people still wonder if Nate is a good leaker.
He was not the first one to talk about it. He was not even the first one to hint the day for the Switch 2 reveal btw.

Sometimes he's right... when everyone say the same thing in the "insider sphere".

ANYWAY, two Nintendo Direct in one week and a full console reveal. E3 is back. 🤤

Parasite Eve 1 & 2

Not including 3rd Birthday...

This just increases the hype, because if MP4 is slated for the Switch direct tomorrow instead of the Switch 2 direct, it just means that Nintendo have so many Switch 2 games to show that they don't even need to fill out the April direct with any Switch 1 game at all.

According to Mr Grubb, the big "talked about" game will come from a 3rd party.

Silk Song?
Older COD? For switch 1?
A new Tecmo bowl? (A Moose can dream)
Banjo remake?

What could it be?

Just received an email from FNAC, an among other things big electronics, consoles and games seller in Spain and France, and they're doing a giveaway for Switch 2 preorders once they open, meaning a few of those preorders will be free once they take out the numbers from the hat. Complete with well designed layout in red and HQ Switch 2 mockup...or is it? 😏

Probably tens of millions of these went out the server.

They say Switch 2 'very soon'. The gears are turning more official.

I'm not surprised at all. I always thought it would be weird thatthey might be spending some of the switch 2 event on switch 1that just seemed strange to me.

What it does prove is that there is no distinction between general directs and mini directs if theyre first party because the direct mini in March 2020 was longer than 30 minutes, and it was a shadow dropped on YouTube. It didn't get a 24 hour pre-announcement like this one did. But of course, this one's really exciting because it means there's gonna be some really good stuff even though it's short.

I would definitely expect Kirby and Metroid prime 4, and fewer games than normal, but more time spent on the games that are there.

Very curious what games Nintendo will announce for this, for me XCX was the swan song to end the current switch on (Definitely holding out for Switch 2 for Prime 4) so what the fuck will we be seeing here? Maybe Nintendo will finally perma drop the Switch's price.

Gotta make good on those marketing deals but don't wanna waste time in the Switch 2 direct. Can't wait to see more of that terrible Hobbit game.

Yep, that's how I see this too. It's the "we're contractually obligated to feature these games in a presentation before the end of the fiscal year" event, and they waited until the last possible minute.

That said, they probably have some of their own Switch 1 announcements to get out the door before they pivot to the Switch 2 too. I think that Kirby: Planet Robobot port is basically guaranteed to be there, and maybe they'll drop Metroid Prime 2 & 3 ports the way they did with Pikmin 1 & 2.

The only big question in my mind is whether we'll see Prime 4. I'm hoping we don't, because if it shows up tomorrow, that probably means that it's not cross-gen, or at least that the Switch 2 version won't be a substantial improvement over the OG Switch version.

Actually, I think that thanks to the Direct this week, the Switch 2 reveal is going to be pure fire :messenger_fire:

Or it will focus on a new shitty gimmick for 90% of the time lol.

I think this'll be remakes/remasters galore. Kirby Planet Robobot Remake/Remastered, Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War Remake, Metroid Prime 1 and 2 have all been heavily rumored for a very long time. Not to mention Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

Considering the presentation is quite short this time I think they have more than enough in terms of first party announcements.

If it's any of these, it'll be Silksong.

If Microsoft was going to release a classic CoD for the OG Switch, they would have last fall, I think. There's very likely to be a current gen Call of Duty (either last year's or this year's) in the Switch 2 Direct, so announcing one for the OG Switch a week before would only muddle the marketing.

Tecmo Bowl sounds like a personal fantasy, and if any sort of Banjo project exists, it's likely years away and for the Switch 2.

the mini name was dead after 2020
