I saw it more as she's just high af lol.

It's a bit on the nose (or should I say "in") but wondering if they're setting up Seyfried to be another Laura, "death" and all. Hairstyle seems to be trying to capture how Laura wore it.
I hope she's there to subvert that old trope. It would be nice if Cooper And The Incompetence Brigade could actually solve a case and manage to save a life for once.

I was so confused! I heard Norma say Toad and I got excited, then I was like... That's not Toad. That's the cook from the Missing Pieces.

Also I noticed Heidi was in the credits but I didn't see her.
I think this could be Heidi. She barely made it into the episode - must have been busy jump starting the old man, again. Again.

Could be, it was really subtle so I had to rewatch it a couple times to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

re-watched it, changed my mind. definitely something to that

especially since that's the first response 'dougie' ever had that wasn't repeating somebody else

i figured it was some incidental lighting effect reflecting from that ugly neon green jacket coop wears

but it's twin peaks so you never know

Are you guys serious lol

It was front and center and very obvious, the light even shakes. It's the same sort of shit as the lights floating over the slot machines with jackpots

There's obviously something to it and it seems like Cooper has some new fancy tricks up his sleeve. Based on the end with Evil C in prison, he does too but he's not a walking vegetable

Was hyped to see Jane Levy

Episode was so so good but the wait between episodes is killing me. All questions, no answers

I said the exact same thing earlier, but was ignored lol

I don't really like the idea of Coop having magic powers. It would have been reasonable for him to detect the guy was lying based on his repressed experiences with the FBI, no need for spooky green lights.

You know you can have a discussion without being condescending, right? Some of you guys need to chill out lmao.

The light wasn't that obvious. You know what was obvious? The black lodge symbol in the casino when they focused on it several times. In this case, it was more of a subtle green light, almost like a dim green flashlight. I didn't catch it on the first time I watched it. I'm in agreeance that it's one of Cooper's new tricks from the lodge, but it wasn't as blatant of a sign as the casino symbol.

So maybe the Giant's message concerning Richard and Linda is about remembering what doppelcoop did to/with them while Coop was stuck in the lodge. Maybe Richard is possessed.

Sorry, that came off more dickish than I intended

It definitely looks like a flashlight (in fact I'm sure that's what they used) but I'm just surprised to see people saying they weren't sure if they saw it. Unless it's how you're streaming it?

So I went back and watched the Sonny Jim scene of him in the car. I can see a little of that Black Lodge "reverse" action when the camera goes to him the third time.

Could this be because Sonny Jim is technically a product of a clone/doppelgänger? Does he even exist? Is he a little marble too?

He does seem somewhat lodge connected, and well if his dad is Dougie that'd make that even more of a reality. Sonny Jim is in tune with something that's for sure. Curious what the crying episode with Coop while staring at him was all about.

This dude has such fascinating features. He's like a living art deco sculpture... a particularly slimy art deco asshole sculpture.

It only recently struck me how little the original "Falling" theme fits this show. It's weird hearing it open with such a warm and welcoming melody before throwing us into this cold world where even the town of Twin Peaks took on this unmistakably 'Deer Meadow' smell.

I'm hoping it's explained further as well.

I'm wondering how much of these new character stories they will touch up on during the rest of the season.
I'm talking about Matthew Lillard, the kid and his drugged up mom, Dugie's family (after Coop regains his memories), and the glass box.

I'm over Dougie. He has too few interesting moments relative to his time spent on screen.

I'd take even the dumbest season 2 subplots over Dougie at this point. Even James and mega Nadine

That's something I've been noticing about this season of the bits actually taking place in Twin Peaks. It seems like the town's clean exterior has been 'corrupted' more by its seedy underbelly over time, not in a bad way but it's notifiable. In the sheriff's station we learn a school died in highschool to overdose, everyone in class just thought he was sleeping. Drug problem in general in the town seems rampant, Jacoby going nuts in a trailer in the forest feeding shit-shovels to Nadine and a high Jerry laughing at it, along with shady characters in town. We learned this episode if I saw correctly that one of the cops in the sheriff's department is in on the drug trade.

We'll see more of the town over the series and saw more of it in the second half of this episode, but it's giving the distinct impression so far the town has both gotten a lot more crowded than it once was, and not all with the right sort of people.

Anyone know why Cooper was crying when he was looking at sonny jim?

There's a few ways you can interpret this. My personal take is that Cooper realizes deep down despite being in a far away place from his old self, part of him recognizes he's taken this boy's father away from him.

But you can also interpret it as Dougie liking the son or something else.

man fuck you guys I love Dougie and I want more of him, that stuff in the insurance office was cracking me up

I love Dougie too, you're not alone.

Also I just fucking realized the Insurance Office guy who tells the guy his resume is shit is fucking Mike (Bobby's friend) from the original series.

Dougie has produced some of the funniest scenes in all of Twin Peaks, but it's frustrating how people around him simultaneously act like it's totally normal but also uncharacteristic.

Like, based on Dougie's job and relationships and place in life, it's obvious that he had to have been a relatively normal, functioning dude. So it doesn't make sense for people to just shrug it off.

On the other hand, Jane Eyre made a comment about him having another one of his episodes. If that was the case, then why was everyone acting confused by Dougie's behavior?

Any theories why Janey-E's ring was inside the stiff? I get the feeling she's gonna go nuts on Droolcoop once he begins stabilizing more into his old self as some sort of failsafe to keep Dougie/Coop reigned in and secure within Rancho Rosa. Truman Show type shit.

Twin Peaks "The Return" is clearly the story of Cooper Returning from the Black Lodge. I'm genuinely curious what the people that want him immediately back to normal, think the rest of the show would be, if that happened so early in the run.

Would he immediately be trying to vanquish his doppelganger for 13 remaining episodes? That's a lot of episodes.

The story would collapse if he reverted in the next immediate episode. Once he has all of his functions back, he explains he's not Dougie, contacts Gordon, and figures out a way to get his doppelganger (who is contained in a prison) back into the lodge.

He's not going to be completely 'returned' until his doppelganger is back in the Lodge.

I think the Dougie scenes are still fantastic and hilarious but I admit it is going to wear pretty thin soon. I hope the conclusion to Cooper's journey back to reality is solved within the next few episodes with what I assume is the death of his doppelganger. I am dying to have classic Coop back.

I am 100% sure it has something to do with the fact Dougie was wearing the Owl Ring so Cooper's Doppelganger is definitely involved, but outside of that not quite sure. Could be some long con like he had the ring there as a failsafe if Cooper wasn't killed.

So what did that receiver transform into at the end of the episode?

It looked like one of those rings that prevent the wearer from being possessed. Laura Palmer had one given to her by Mike in Fire Walk With Me and one appeared after Dugie turned into a marble in the black lodge.

The girl in charge of the assassins dialed a number that communicated with the receiver but it seems like when Dooper made his call and said "the cow jumped over the moon" it made the receiver transform.

The connection between this lady and Dugie may have something to do with why Dooper put the ring in the dead guys stomach?

If they did this, then Classic Cooper would just hang out in Twin Peaks for the remaining 10 or so episodes? Nearly all of the threads of this season would be tied up if Cooper was back to normal, and was the only one of him around.
