Twin Peaks Season 3 |OT2| It's Just A Change, Not An End

Showtimes streaming compression is so bad it makes me sad. All these beautiful forest shots don’t deserve this. Has anyone found any solutions to this?

Going to get some donuts and coffee for the last couple of episodes. I haven't been this excited for a show since season 2 finale of Carnivale and the series finale of Rectify. I think Lynch and Frost will go all out trying to top the season 2 finale.

It's been a hell of a journey. I have enjoyed taking this trip with you fine people. Too bad it has to end. May your coffee be black as midnight, your cherry pie sweet, and your dreams ever strange.

Sincerely,
Ray Donovan's tulpa

Also I noticed when Andy is sent to the “white lodge” that he was grasping Naido’s hand pretty tightly before he disappeared. They kept zooming in on their grasp too. I wonder if Naido is the human equivalent to the black lodge’s ring.

No, even the broadcast doesn't do it justice I'm told. Basically we have to wait for the blu-ray. Still any excuse to rewatch right?

the way I saw it is that the white lodge chose to take him because he displayed compassion and caring in making Naido feel comfortable

Wait. WAIT.

Someone else in the world loves Carnivale, too?! My life has meaning again!

Carnivale was great. Shame it didn't get a proper finale though, and a shame they kind of hyped up the end of season two as something close to that.

Still I knew about that when I started it and I loved it.

Haven't watched an episode as it aired "live" since the premiere, pretty excited for this even if I'm expecting to be thoroughly trolled.

It was my favorite show of all time until this season of Twin Peaks. It makes me extra sad that Micheal Anderson lost his damn mind because he was fantastic in that show.

IT truly has been a trip, Twin Peaks-GAF. The OT got really heated a few times but I still always had fun.

Oh man, I really wish I could watch live. I have to wait until Netflix releases the episodes but I have no idea at what exact time that's gonna happen.

The "HD" TV broadcast has a higher video bitrate than the streaming services, correct? I wanna watch the best possible version of this available today.

I just realised exactly what I want Frost and Lynch to do next - season 3 of Carnivale. They're going to have to find something else to turn Michael J Anderson into though.

You might be waiting a long long time if ever. Only a handful of showtime shows are on Netflix.

It's not worth spending what 10, for one month subscription? Lol

Yeah I tried all of the offerings and Hulu has the best image quality out there. Still eager for the Blu-rays though.

I hear Amazon's on demand is technically the highest bitrate available. I have no complaints with Hulu though, looks better than most non-Netflix services I've used.

Hulu puts the episode up instantly on demand the second it airs too so you don't have to worry about live streaming buffering.

It's on Netflix in several countries outside the US, and their profile says they're from Brazil, so I'm assuming that's one of said countries.

Actually, Twin Peaks: The Return has been uploaded weekly on Netflix for LatAm, so it might not be out of the cards?

I watched it so many times back in the day, it was the new Twin Peaks for me. I even wrote a third season premiere as my spec script for a screenwriting course, haha. But what there is of the show is incredible.

I just rewatching the Cooper scenes from ep 16 and man, it just makes me laugh, at the recognition of unfiltered emotion. It isn't just seeing him come back, it's the way he interacts with the people around him. The Mitchum Brothers are such great characters - they are apparently basically scam artists and thugs, but on a personal level are the most giving and soft-hearted guys on the show. When Candy agrees with Coop that they have hearts of gold you can see them just react with such pride. Him sitting down with Janey-E and Sonny Jim in the casino is the purest expression of emotionally blunt kitsch in this show so far, when Sonny Jim cries 'no, you're my dad, you're my dad!!!' and Coop replies 'I'm your dad, Sonny Jim'. It's all so ridiculous but at the same time you just buy completely into the moment and you laugh like you wish life was like this, not that you are laughing at it, because why would you?

The entire Dougie storyline this season has been great - a great cast of characters surrounding him while Coop was in a walking coma, and seeing the payoff of it was just hilarious and heartwarming, which the whole storyline has basically been from start to finish. Yeah, the show could have gone a different way and given us a full season of normal Cooper, but this is by no means bad - it's had so many funny, sad and kind moments along the way and it leaves you thinking - what was Dougie all about? What is this all about? Not out of confusion, but curiosity.

I hope the finale tonight has some more great moments from these characters and I'm looking forward to seeing the overall story come together.

FINAL COOPER DAY PEOPLE.

You were so just...
Looking across the sky...
Can't remember...
I can't recall, no.
I can't remember.
Anything.
At all.

<3

Tell me when
Tell me when is this over
Chewed you out
Chew me out when I'm stupid

The song is just incredible.
