The only way to get out is to run through someone's private property as their lawn is the only thing leading to the exit. It's like the fucking Truman Show.

I think as the game progresses, and the path to completion becomes less linear and more open ended, the game will become tougher to complete since each commenter may have different ideas on how to progress in the adventure. So you have all these conflicting agendas that will ultimately result in the character going no where in the game.
