Ah, sorry, no brit experience. Only american female friends. I've used it on rare occasion around them when expressing serious displeasure about a rotten woman, but not really loosely or in jest. Talking dirty is a different story, but entirely unrelated...

EDIT: I should also note, in addition to what I said above, I never use it around a girl unless I've heard her use the word at least once with my own two ears. Better safe than sorry.

You're getting into dangerous waters here. <psst> The whole thing is completely subjective. It's why Cooter was banned and Triumph never will be. Some mods might not be offended by the term "cunt" but this one was. Thus, banage.

Yeah, honestly. People have said worse in those anti-Michael Moore threads and gotten away with it (or worse, got encouragement from other moderators.) I love on-the-spot additions to the Terms of Service...makes everything lively

Hell I was banned for two weeks for calling out someone who called me an idiot. The name-caller got one week. I was officially banned for trolling in a troll thread. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason.

Uh, are you referring to me? Because I was banned for one week and you got two, not too long ago. Yet I did as much as tell you to "shut up" which was apparently, by itself - nothing more, enough for a ban, according to EviLore.

You're right, though. It's completely subjective and often ridiculous. Sometimes I think it's just the moderator's particular mood at the time. Or maybe the power is fulfilling. Whichever.

I, personally, have no idea what flies around here and what doesn't (especially once I got banned for a week because I called a PC war game "generic" while people were trolling like mad in Star Ocean 3/ToS topics with no repercussions) so I've been tempted on more than one occassion to just stop caring about it and post anything and see if it gets by

LOL I love this. It reminds me of when I first got banned. I had been on the board for 3 years with no problems. I thought the board was run pretty fairly and didn't understand how people got banned, even though in hindsigtht those people did nothing in any real since most of the time to get banned. Then all of a sudden I started getting popped for absolutly no reason and then i saw the other side. That's when I realized that this board is run on the whims of the mods. TOS is a joke and means nothing. I've been popped for telling someone to "eat a dick," after they threatened me first. Been popped because a mods pet didn't like me because he DCed on me during an online game and I called him on his BS. Believe it or not I've loged on and been banned even though I hadn't made a post in 2 or 3 days. Asked a mod about it and he told me, "Maybe it was for something you were thinking," and kicked/banned me from IRC. The only rules to this board is not to get on the bad side of a mod or one of his or her pets. If so expect to take a week vaction from the board every now and again.

My point is, someone so quick to judge without ascertaining facts and saying such inflammatory ignorant hateful things, shouldn't really be wishing for bricks to be thrown at another person's face... on the basis of their ignorant hatefulness.
