Why should you tune into the fights?
Nick Diaz and Carlos Conduit are fighting for the interim UFC welterweight championship.

How did we end up with this main event?
Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz and UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre were scheduled to fight on October 29th, 2011 at UFC 137. UFC President Dana "Fucking" White removed Nick Diaz from the main event of UFC 137 for missing some promotional obligations. However, there was some speculation that GSP pressured Dana White into removing Diaz from the card. Carlos Conduit was eventually gifted the title shot in place of Nick Diaz. GSP ends up pulling out of the fight with Conduit with a mysterious injury. Good friends Nick Diaz and BJ Penn are forced to fight each other in the main event spot to save UFC 137. Nick Diaz proceeds to retire MMA Legend BJ Penn with his patented Stockton slap and following the fight calls out Georges St. Pierre. GSP reluctantly accepts Diaz's challenge and once again they were set to face each other for the UFC championship. The fight was supposed to take place at this card, but GSP pulled out of the fight with an injury again.

Yaco just wants a thread in which he can dream a full week before his 209-era dreams are crushed.

The under hyped aspect of this card is we are going to find out if the HW division gets a new contender to the throne. The first and only man to tap out the former GOAT Fedor, and who made the man of the hour overeem look bad.(albeit in a shitty showing himself)

The people's championship is on the line.

Whoever wins, the fans wins too since both of these men are warriors. Well except for GSP fans. The only thing they get is to find out is which of these two warriors will be beat the hell out him. From one hospital trip to another for old Georgie boy.

I thought Condit was getting thrown to the wolves when they announced his fight with GSP because I think this kid could be the future of 170 but 5 rounds of dry humping would probably demoralize him to the point where he'd never reach his full potential.

But a win over Nick Diaz, who even the most ardent GSP fans have to admit is one of the top fighters in the world, could harden him and give him enough confidence to beat the hell out of Rush.

yacobud is the best. i don't care if they think our threads are barbaric and human cockfighting. we will never go mainstream with a sticky thread and will be glad when we slip into a second dark age to escape the fickle neogaf fanbase. that is all.

1st: A fight that decides which two people get their asses kicked by the champ.

2nd: We will get sent to communities before we get sticked.

Let's be real here. GSP was caught on tape after Diaz slapped BJ saying "Boss, I want to beat that punk up. I want to fight Diaz!" and you think he is afraid of him?

I think Rush has complete confidence in his ability to decision any 170 lb fighter in the world.

let's be real here. i make an OT that is informative, has all the pertinent information, and is relatively troll free, but the GSP white knights still can't handle it.

GSP wanting to actually scrap with Diaz is exactly why he'll lose. Playing right into Diaz's hands. He can definitely beat Diaz if he just wrestles him but trying to outscrap him? Not a good idea.

i think nick would put up just enough of a fight to activate gsp's wounded animal instincts, forcing him to escape his mma boredom and lash out in a way we haven't seen in years.

tell us about your ufc experience, yaco.

I sat next to two of the fattest women in the audience. When the event went to the main televised portion live on FOX, they sang along with "It's time to end this suffering." The entire song, it was like I was watching the downfall of western civilization in person. It was quite horrifying.

Like I mentioned in the previous thread, Brittany is quite stunning in person. It's worth repeating, but her ass looked great. TBC looked quite yummy as well. Arianny is a distant third compared to the other babes, her body is pedestrian by comparison.

It seemed like the crowd ended up boo-ing the last 3 fights on the televised portion of the card. I'm sure Dana is going to be pissed again and not come back to Chicago for another 4 or 5 years. I ended up getting to the venue really late because my wife was on call today, so I missed most of the undercard.

JBJ was generating a ton of heat by fucking with the audience during and between matches.

I'd love to go to a UFC card. We haven't had one here in 9 years (UFC 42). Closest we got since was Ortiz-Shamrock 3 and Evans vs Salmon five years ago but that was a county over.

All we get is Bellator and Bad MMA cards from Glen Rice's promotion. The last major card we got was Strikeforce:Miami a couple years ago and while Nick Diaz was on it, so was Bobby Trashley and Herschel Walker. Fuck paying for that.

Just watched the second Primetime episode. Already hyping Diaz vs GSP which seems quite disrespectful to Conduit.

Diaz has got this though.

Nick has the best combination of cardio, bjj, and striking GSP has ever faced. He's dangerous standing up and off his back. It's an intriguing matchup wherever the fight goes. And I think Nick will be in his head, so GSP may open up in the fight for the first time since Serra knocked him out.

It's best potential match-up at 170#.

War Diaz for sure.
I cant see anyone beating Nick and Nate these days.

Probably the guy that can slam the other person head first into the concrete. Just saying.

Interim titles are such shit. If only because Bruce Buffer also likes to recognize them in the announcements when fighters are introduced.

"and the FORMER INTERIM HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION ..."

Shut the fuck up, it's meaningless.
