When he can't wrestle people, he looks a lot weaker than when he can. Frankie has high output, but he can be hurt and Chad is a nasty counter-puncher.

He's also never been KOed before, though he sure has come close.

Can't wait. Should be an awesome fight.

Conor's movement coach comes off as the biggest quack on earth. It's worrying seeing Conor devoting so much time to the guy

Creativity is a big part of Conor's game though. His MMA striking is somewhat unorthodox. Little wasted movement, he implements different martial arts styles, and manages distance extremely well.

If that movement coach got him this far he can't be too much of a quack.

I've got Mendes over Edgar. I don't see him winning standing up, and I'd be surprised if he could consistently get Mendes on the ground enough to win rounds, much less finish. Think he's going to get beat pretty cleanly when they're standing.

Aldo v McGregor though... I really have no idea. My best guess is it comes down to Aldo's attack on McGregor's legs, but I have to imagine that is exactly what McGregor is preparing for. The only thing that would surprise me in that fight is it going to decision.

He literally stated with this camp.
As long as Conor believes he is helping then that's all that matters.

I do think a lot of what these guys show on social media, embedded, etc are all for show and meant to throw off the scent of their opponents' spies and such. Makes their opponents rethink their game plan, maybe train for something different that they think they might see in the fight, etc.

I agree with the aldo/McG assessment. If he can nullify Aldo's leg kicks then it should be an interesting fight. Just can't forget the memories of the Faber fight and what it looked like the next day. Ouch....

I think it is a match made in Heaven (Hell?). While I think it is a stupid idea to ever interact with someone like Ido Portal, Conor has been talking like Ido for a couple years now. The whole "Dey dont move like I do" speech comes to mind. I think Ido is a scam artist, and trying to establish a bullshit philosophy around capoeira/tricking. I think that Conor's approach to fighting in that flowy way makes him prone to look for "movement specialists", no matter how much bullshit they spew.

Yep plus it was the week before the fight so Conor was focusing on his stretching and balance.

No spoilers, that outcome seemed inevitable. L-fighter was trying to win on volume, but it was super sloppy and inefficient.

Seeing Mcgregor spending a lot of time with Ido Portal isn't a bad idea imo. I'm pretty sure he's mostly hanging out with him cuz they have a shared interest for "movement" (cringe). Staying loose and flowing is a big part of Connors success and I really doubt he's sacrificing the orthodox training sessions for these movement-exercises.

Oh god, a "King" Kevin Casey fight is coming up. I still remember when he called out Weidman...after his shitty TUF run, plus 1 year suspension for steroids.
