I have to agree with all the Street Fighter fanboys that Machida will win this. He looked great against Munoz. Meanwhile Sweet and Sassy is decisioning guys without wikipedia pages.

Mousasi coming off surgery and his last fight was 1 year ago against a nobody. Even though I hate Machida, I don't see how he will lose this.

As long as Jacare beats Camont I'm cool. No real interest, I just don't want to see the Black GSP run amok at the top of the division.

And Machida will win a split decision with the only people cheering being the parochial crowd and the Machida marks on GAF.

Chris Weidman says hi.

He'll put him to sleep, him and the audience.

Machida's striking is amazing to watch. I love watching him fight. His technique is out of this world, as is his wrestling defense and his ring control. Yes, he isn't very active, but his percentages are very very high for accuracy, and when he sees an opening, he's got plenty of power.

I find your post agreeable. I do have friends!

wtf why all the hate for Machida?
Probably more to do with Machida fans combined with that time Shogun lost a decision to him controversially.

Unlike GSP, Machida will actually attempt to finish, and often violently.

wtf why all the hate for Machida?

Irrational hate for one of the greatest, most talented, and exciting fighters today? What else is new?

The kind of person who finds his fights boring is the kind of person who I find boring.

machida is great. looks like ryu and riles up all the ex-wrestling mmagaf guys

I've been out of the UFC game for a while, when did Machida become Fight Night material?
Machida dropped a weight class recently.

Finished three of his last four wins via highlight KO. The decision was against the unfinishable Hendo.

He did lose a decision to Phil Davis recently. I think the drop to 185 is appropriate.

I only remember the Henderson "fight". Certainly one of the most boring fights I've ever seen and I regularly watch Klitschko fights.
I think that's a fair assessment. This is sports entertainment after all. It's Hendo though.

Ah, ok. I can see a drop in weight class knocking someone back to Fight Nights. At least he's main eventing though.

The hate really started after Rogan had started hyping the "Machida Era", which literally ended by the next fight as Shogun put a hurting on him but judges wrongfully gave Machida the decision win. Was KO'ed in the next fight and fans cheered. Just look how many hate GSP because the judges didn't give Hendricks the win, as if it's the fighters fault lol.

Oh thats why I've disliked GSP for 5 years?

It's like the hate Jose got for that clinic he put on the other week. Oh no! He's only finished 2 of his last 4 opponents! His accuracy and the percentage of power strikes he was landing, was brutal. He's hobbled people with less.

I want to slap Joe every time he mentions weight cutting. Jose put on some extra muscle mass for a couple of fights and tried cutting more. It got him into trouble during the Hominic fight, and he dropped the extra muscle mass and hasn't had any trouble since.

Yet Joe still goes on about it. Probably to try to convince us that anyone other than Frankie Edgar has a competitive chance against Aldo.

No, but you could just see the hate he got after the fight as if it was his fault. People have hated GSP for years (boring, smothering, doesn't go for the finish). But that Shogun fight instantly turned a lot of fans off on Machida, so much so that many were happy Lyoto got KO'ed.

but come on guys machida was closest to beating jon jones

No one put a hurting on the champ like Gustaffson though.

street fighter fans marking out for a guy who's dropped 5 of his last 9 fights, and was part 2 or 3 of the most boring fights of the last 3-4 years.

and they throwing rocks at ex wrestling fans?

who ya crappin?

Ordinary guy getting bopped.

Arguably that'd be Vitor. Jones even thought he was done when he was in that arm bar. He wasn't going to tap, but he was stood there expecting his arm to snap and thinking to himself how sucky a way to lose the belt that was going to be.

I'm going to watch this fight while eating handfuls of Botan Rice Candy with the Street Fighter OST playing quietly in the background.

Hopefully that 6-pack gives Machida the confidence to, you know, actually fight his opponent.

That is such a weird fucking thing to say considering he's got some of the greatest KOs in the history of the sport.

Hyperbole. How's it work?

No matter the age of the person on the receiving end, that jumping front kick to the face is one of the best knock outs I've ever seen. Also, his KO at the last second of round one against Thiago 'Giant Piece of Human Excrement' Alves was another for the ages...

Or are we forgetting that one?

The only thing less impressive than knocking out Thiago Silva is having an affair with his wife.
