Because the only concerns voiced so far about May has been regarding her mixed record on gay rights and I thought it was you who posted the pink times article earlier on in the thread, but perhaps it wasn't. My bad.Cerebral Assassin said:So why are you only talking about gay rights?

In the commons where does everyone sit. I assume Tories and Lab swap places but are the Libs mixed in with the Cons or are they in their normal spot? They'd have to be on the opposite side to signify they're aren't in opposition.
If Cameron dies, who automatically becomes PM? The deputy leader of the Conservative party or Deputy PM full stop?
phisheep said:Nobody automatically does. The Queen gets activated. Same as it's always been.
Zenith said:better question would be who becomes acting leader when the PM is incapacitated.
I think it was this that did it for me:Jexhius said:The image of the them shaking hands by No. 10 is just so surreal. It's like I was suddenly aware of how peculiar this whole situation had become.
So true... it didn't actually sink in that NICK CLEGG was DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, the second most powerful member of the government, until it showed him rolling up and shaking hands with Cam on the doorstep of Number 10.Jexhius said:The image of the them shaking hands by No. 10 is just so surreal. I think Cameron has to get at least a little bit of respect for how he's handled this. Many, many pages back someone posted a list of what they expected Cameron to do if he got a minority - and it was basically declare victory anyway, challenge the constitution and threaten anyone who didn't back his proposals by saying they were going against national interest.Gary Whitta said:I am going to risk the ire of UK PoliGaf and say, now that it's no longer a choice and we're stuck with him, I'm actually warming to Cameron a little bit. I went back and watched his TED talk and he seems vibrant and smart and intellectual. Maybe it's just the halo effect standing next to Clegg, I don't know, but so far I'm hating this less than I thought I would.

But, now that the Labour government has ended, Mr Campbell will publish the unexpurgated diaries in four separate volumes.
