Cheers. Irony is it's promotional stuff from In The Loop which I wasn't all that fussed on to be perfectly honest. The Thick Of It is of course absolute comedy gold. The first six episodes might be the best British comedy of the past decade.

fake edit: Mandelson on Sky News right now. Cable playing the Obi Wan to his Vader.

Comres:

Cameron - 35%
Clegg - 33%

Missed Brown because Sky skipped straight back to the Yougov poll for some reason...

Cameron looks to be the winner of this one.

Cameron really pisses me off, he doesnt answer anything.

I think right at the end Gordon mentioned 3 things Cameron was going to cut and instead of replying to that he just talked about what he wanted to do again. It's fucking annoying. Same with the inheritance tax. My Gran really seemed to like him though.

Cameron could and should have totally owned him, yet he just stood there like a lemon. He only has himself to blame if he doesn't win majority.

Cameron couldn't have 'totally owned' him. The only person who knew what he was talking about was anger man Brown. It was a debate on the economy what do you expect.

Everyone responded badly to Cameron wailing on the so-called Amnesty policy by the Lib-Dems. :lol :lol

I am really suprised Cameron won by such a margin. I could've expected a 1 or 2 point win but not by 5. If the polls reflect that over the weekend who knows where the hell we'll stand come Thursday.

My favourite bit out of the whole lot:

Brown: (referring to proposed Tory inheritance tax cuts) He wants to save the richest people in the country £200,000 EVERY YEAR

What? People can die more than once now can they?

I watched In The Loop recently and was surprised by how good it was because the reviews were fairly mediocre.

Back on topic, how anyone can seriously consider Cameron the winner of that i dont know. You have to ANSWER SOME FUCKING QUESTIONS to win a debate.

He should have called out Clegg's lies more forcefully instead of letting him laugh them off. And it's quite funny to put Brown as the man who "knew what he was talking about". The same man who led us into recession, failed to regulate banks properly, destroyed the housing market, failed to prevent unemployment increase etc.

I don't agree with cameron about many things, but he did come off pretty well I think. I still think the Lib Dem policies are the best, so they still get my vote.

I honestly do think that the initial "cleggmania" as it's been dubbed has worn off though, he's not done anything to set himself up as being inspirational really, which is something Obama did do with his campaign. Though relating UK politics to US politics is all in all a bit silly.

Well nobody can deny that Cameron did well tonight. I'm just surprised that everyone else believed their own hype. Clegg supporters are always going to say that Clegg did better, Brown supporters will call it for Brown and Cameron supporters will call it for Cameron.

But ultimately, I thought Brown came across very negative tonight and didn't really have an upbeat message for the future. Clegg was alright, I don't think the polls reflect on him personally, just on the thorny topic of amnesty and joining the Euro. Cameron didn't make any awkward gaffes tonight like how he 'met a black man' or whatever, and seemed confident in his policies. Also I thought he mounted a good defence for raising the inheritance tax (which I support) by appealing to voters' aspirations.

Ending statement was nice until he smiled.

LOL, cringe-inducing moment am total.

Cameron didn't leave any real impression on me, can't recall much of what he said or stood for during the whole debate (except for the spending cuts). Clegg's closing was strong, more of the same from him. Brown was confident in his Mastermind specialist subject of teh moniez, much stronger than the first debate.

Ah god, BBC Scotland has the Führer on now. I fucking hate Salmond.
Wha? Why?? He's one of, no the best party leader in the UK [/spit]! Quite aside from the fact that I'm an Englishman who hates the fuck out of Britain, I'd love an English party with the competence that the SNP have demonstrated in Scotland.

I think Brown's closing speech was very misjudged.

Especially doing the vote Labour or die of cancer thing again.

Exactly. Didn't Brown pay attention to the American election? McCain and Palin campaigned on a negative future under Obama, whereas Obama campaigned on 'hope' and a positive future for America. Cameron was onto something when he said he envisioned a 'better Britain'.

Tedious and uninspiring... Clegg played best to the voters but the lib dems still lack focus...overall, none of them impressed me and I won't be voting for any of the three

Odd, I had this one scored as a win for Brown, despite his horribly negative closing statement.

For the record I though Clegg won the first debate and Cameron and Clegg joint winners of the second.

Janet Street Porter on question time thinks debates are a male thing and she, as a female, couldnt relate. Hmmmmmm.
I couldn't believe she said that :lol Are we going to have to make sure one of the leaders of the three main parties is a woman now? Maybe an old school style Prime Girl and Prime Boy?

Also someone needs to punch her every time she says HELLO? Maybe she'd stop.

In the even that Cameron wins, what exactly is going to happen?
Can someone tackle this for me?

I'm not sure on the specifics of how it will happen, but basically, in a nutshell, the world will end.

Edit: ^ lol

I like Janet Street-Porter so far on this show. At least she has conviction in her opinions and can be light-hearted when the time arises.
