Cameron's not frightening people.

THE HUNG PARLIAMENT PARTY.

Except that. He's not frightening people.

...he has the papers to do that for him.

Those papers are briefed by Tory HQ too. Not enough was made of that after Nick Robinson discovered it, AFTER the tory party denied it too.

Also Clegg's closing speech.

It was half-half for me.

First half Brown won it for me, Clegg had a bad start with the first question but got back to his old self on the whole. Cameron just didn't impress at all.

Second half Brown went down a bit and Clegg overtook him again. Again, Cameron didn't impress.

I guess overall I'd put it at Clegg = Brown >>> Cameron. Clegg seemed to have a slight overall lead if the debate's taken as a whole.

So who won and lost this one?

Brown recovered from bigotgate incredibly well.
Cameron didn't control the debate which he needed to do. He wont recover anything close to his 8 point lead he had before the first debate.
Clegg will take his 1/3rd on Thursday.

Any predictions on the polling? I'm guessing big boost for Clegg. Could go up or down on Cameron and Brown though, I have no way of accurately gauging how most people will react to either of them.

edit: If pushed I'd say slight boost for Brown (from yesterday at least), slight drop for Cameron.

Ending statement was nice until he smiled.

Hopefully this debate will move brown back up so that the lib/lab coalition can take place.

That's nothing, I've heard the Labour party intend to introduce a tax on jobs!

I think overall, possibly a Gordon/Clegg tied, with Cameron fairly certainly third.

Gordon won first half, Clegg second half, but not sure either of them stood out too much overall.

Considering the Bigot incident was yesterday, Brown came out swinging like a champ, and to be fair kept on swinging. I thought his mention of it at the start did well at diffusing its impact, he admitted he was wrong, and then moved on.

Clegg's closing speech was superb, best one he's done.

i think clegg won by far, personally. after a shaky start with some failed attempts to distance himself from the other parties in a gimmicky way, he was excellent on education, banking, benefits and the closing speech.

I thought Brown was very commanding for the first quearter - half, Clegg did well in the second half. Cameron had too much talk of gripping things HARD. Made me feel a bit sick.

I reckon so. I might be wrong, they might be callous enough to just cut off funding (I sure would) but I can't see it. Only time will tell I guess.

But if you do that people literally have the choice between commiting enough crimes until they're sent to jail or starve to death. Great solution.

The most significant thing ive taken away from the debates is that people see what they want to see. I guess i shouldnt have been so naive.

Anyone else notice that at one point Brown seemed to intentionally refer to somebody as 'the questioner'?Seemed an veiled criticism of Clegg's whole 'Is you is, or is you ain't mah constituency' malarkey. Scored a point with me anyway, hate that sleazeball shit.

edit: Sun/Yougov has Cameron as the winner.

edit:

Cameron - 41%
Clegg - 32%
Brown - 25%

My point exactly.

Are we in agreement then that when all 3 said they'd stop benefits for those who wouldn't work, they were lying?

I don't really know why I bother posting anything anti Liberal in this Clegg orgy :)D ) but he is just such a damned liar.

First of all, does he seriously believe that capital gains in the same as income tax? Really? And this man wants to be PM?!

He has clearly stated that he wants to join the Euro yet when it's brought up, he denies all charges.

He denied a blanket illegal immigrant amnesty. Again, a lie.

His policy on bank bonuses is just comical. No bonuses to men on the board?! Yes, because they're the only ones who earn big bucks. It's the traders who get the largest proportion of the bonus pot. We'll also be lucky if (God forbid) any of these loony policies get implemented, that the banks don't pack up shop and move somehwere where they won't be massively taxed.

Cameron could and should have totally owned him, yet he just stood there like a lemon. He only has himself to blame if he doesn't win majority.

Of course they do. Thats politics.

If person A has policies you believe in and person B has policies you don't, then person A is going to be the man for you. The debates were there to help people chose who THEY think is right.

Genuinely think Brown won that, and I thought he would implode after yesterday.

He looked knackered, but damnit if he didn't know what he was talking about when it comes to the economy.

Still voting Lib Dem though. My view:

Debate 1 - Clegg won
Debate 2 - Draw
Debate 3 - Brown won.

Brown did a lot better tonight, to be expected with the subject matter but quite an improvement from the first two debates. Clegg gave yet another good performance, had a bit of a bad start but he got going and stood his ground well. Cameron was Cameron.

Ah god, BBC Scotland has the Führer on now. I fucking hate Salmond.
