UMVC3: Phoenix Wright and Nova Revealed!

Mode playable online. Battle online as clans in one-week events. Earn cards playing offline. Mode is free DLC post-launch. Howard the Duck is a card. We'd like to speculate that Vita players will be able to trade cards, since "additional Vita functionality" was teased but not announced.

I'll never agree with automatic blocking or tech throws. I don't care the stipulations. One throw tech can change a match. One missed block can change a match. I will never agree with any of these existing.

I don't know anything about the rest of the gems. These two shouldn't be options. Period.

Gems are like items. Traditional fighters always have the same stage so comparison there is retarded. Things like the dimension cape and stalling are equivalent to glitches, which are banned all the time in other games. Gambit glitch anyone?
 
Just watching the stream, and saw a few Phoenix Wright things.

- A missed Objection does NOT make you lose your items.
- A blocked Objection does NOT make you lose your items.
- You can call in the Maya Hyper in Turnabout Mode.

So you can blatantly fish for Objections, although you probably should combo into it anyway.

No word yet, but I can only hope. Maybe they got rid of the Neon/black alt and replaced it with the Spider Armor alt, that way they'd still have an open slot for this alt. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Probably cause it severely hurt other characters that arent blessed like MvC3 Mags?
 
I'm super hype about Heroes and Heralds, but I got a bad feeling there will be a lot of DLC cards eventually lol

Guys on stream mentioned some cards will give characters dashes, invisible health bars, etc.

You can win cards off of other players. There are degrees of rarity, and cards have strengthened if they're at the top of your deck or at the bottom.

I don't really follow comics, so I can't give a lot of specific details, but the article I read said it is someone other than Ben Reilly. They haven't revealed who it is yet.
 
Its not lazy to remove blocking from airdashes. You have to commit to the airdash now. You can't just dash in for free pressure anymore. Great decision imo.
 
Apparently there is a nightcrawler card.

I'm so using that with Iron Fist, Hulk and Nemesis.

Everything Morrigan does is an airdash. Now I have to flight cancel everything in the knick of time.

Meh... I see it more as a buff to characters who have low mobility. It's only bad for characters who have slow dashes like Morrigan, Ammy and Zero. The other 8 way tri-dashes shouldn't be affected that badly, they just need to think before they dash around.

Although one might argue it's a buff to teleporters. And of course it's a major buff to zoners which is basically what Capcom is pushing with this game.

Its not lazy to remove blocking from airdashes. You have to commit to the airdash now. You can't just dash in for free pressure anymore. Great decision imo.

I respectfully disagree, but this isn't the right thread to discuss all of this.

Anyways, I can not wait for UMvC3 to come out and see if zoning is really better in this game. Always had an appreciation for it.

It's not the scarlet spider then. Just another person in a spiderman costume. Its probably the girlfriend. I haven't been following the comics, but I'd wage if anyone keeps their powers from the current "everyone is spiderman" arc, it's her.
 
Magneto uses Magnetic Shockwave
Dr.Doom activates Magic Card "X-Factor"
Magneto activates trap card "Anti-X Factor"
Magneto dhc's to Storm
Dr.Doom loses all of his life points via chip damage.

Can't wait!

This is probably true and I would agree with. No reason to not allow Tron to block in her dash. Although if I had to choose from 10 top characters getting nerfed vs one Mid character getting nerfed... I will take the former option.

Only a few powerful characters in the game had real pressure because of air dashes. The only thing air dashes did for most characters is that it gave them a chance to actually touch Mags and Co.

Oh lol I just remembered Hsien Ko has an air dash. Stay free low tier Mahvel.

Although this change nerfs Phoenix and I am always OK with nerfs on Phoenix.

Oh and I just realized... GAMBIT CARD! Too bad most of this stuff is going to be DLC bull shit.

Its not a perfect system. I'm sure Capcom's done something for Leilei that hasn't been fully revealed. It seems that they have been looking at each character and trying to balance them the best they can. Just wait and see how things turn out.

Her primary modes of transportation are her dive kick and teleport. I don't see how this is a nerf on her at all.

Wait... I didn't say anything about Hsien-Ko lol. I'm not using her for serious ranked stuff anymore. I'm about 98% sure that I will be rocking Ammy/Nova/Morrigan, Ammy/Trish/Nova or Ammy/Ghost Rider/Nova.

This is about all characters besides the top ten or so.

Why is this a certainty? Its not like Capcom hasnt had tons of fighters where low tiers stayed low tier, even with obvious fixes (that were never implemented). I mean we still have an Arthur with fucking hard knockdown on armor break and no way to renew armor. How much more obvious than that can you get?

Oh god and her air walk is like 5 minutes.

The gambit card makes the roster interesting.
 
Tri-dash pressure is still an important part of Phoenix's game plan. Teleports are punishable low and dive kicks raw can be chicken block punished just like Wolverine Dive kick. Also Phoenix's Dive kick gets her killed a lot... never forget the random Weapon X at EVO.

Oh and random rant but I totally hate Phoenix's IAD j.H. Stupid thing crosses up and yet another tool that she doesn't even need.

It's not confirmed but there most likely will be. Although I expect these cards to be dished out via DLC packs.

Anything that makes characters invisible is going to sit nicely where it's powered up the most.
