Uncharted 1 was much more cinematic and movie-like than MGS4. MGS4 was literally a movie. Uncharted 2 is where games should be looking when trying to tell stories with a cinematic feel.

That's my only point. However, it's nothing serious. Just a personal belief.

It's to make good production values so you aren't taken out of the action and making fun of it. See 99% of the games for an example how not to do your acting, dialogue, facial animations, camera work, etc.

In terms of a general sentiment, I totally agree with you. But I think the argument here is not that the game is like a movie - it's that the production standards and graphical fidelity are so high, you could almost confuse the two. I get what you're saying though - games should be games, movies should be movies.

OBVIOUSLY, but you have to remember that this is a commercial for general people, not hardcore gamers.

I'm pretty sure their point was that it's such a technical marvel and a thrilling ride that it could pass as a movie to those who don't play video games.. at least that's what I got out of it.

Yeah that's exactly their point, in my opinion. The mainstream gamer could care less about "9.5- IGN!" and stuff like that. This ad does what it needs to, shows actual gameplay footage and talks about how cinematic the game is, its selling point.

They've always had a knack for getting the most out of the hardware. But gameplay wise I miss their platformers.

My order is now 100% payed off, so Uncharted 2 is mine, I can only wait now. I went with in-store so I can get it as soon as they open. I doubt my gamestop will be doing a midnight launch for a PS3 game, but I'd sure be there if they did. Pumped.
