Yep... this high tails it into high gear starting on chapter 8 and doesn't let up. Welcome to the club guys! Seems more and more folks are seeing this in the same light as I am aka amazeballs!
I'm not gonna lie, maybe it's because I've played the past few UC games. But I've gotten a bit emotional on more then one occasion.
ND, you glorious bastards!

I could say the same about Uncharted 3. I felt empty after beating it. Then I realized my wallet was lighter. But that MP though whoooooMan, I really wish I enjoyed the story as much as you guys. I feel empty and I haven't even touched my game all day to just play it. I don't want to touch it.
Same here. Actually cried a few times.I'm not gonna lie, maybe it's because I've played the past few UC games. But I've gotten a bit emotional on more then one occasion.

There are some really good tracks in the OST. But one just kicked in that was absolutely beautiful. And just implemented so, so well with the game.
How would you compare the soundtrack to the previous games?
So.........
I was wrong about the story and this game as a whole. After Chaper 7 things pick up considerably, and this becomes the best Uncharted without question.
What a fucking game.
I'm predicting 94/95 Metacritic when reviews drop later tonight.
To be honest, I was never a fan of the previous games soundtracks. It's not that I disliked them, but I really don't remember much outside of Nates theme.
Here, the music fits the action and the scenes in particular quite well.
You know, I think the same about previous soundtracks, that's why I didn't care much when Greg left (or wasn't called), I think the series has good music but nothing really outstanding. U4 might not have a great score either but from what I have listened on some behind scenes videos I'm hoping some tunes in line with what you're highlighting here.

Just finished. Almost lost it at the end. Gotta gather my composure and then I'll write my final thoughts. Spoiler alert: it's a masterpiece.

You know what, I have to say, I think UC3's soundtrack is better than UC2's.
There was much more memorable tracks that I liked compared to UC2.
Really ? I'm fond of Uncharted 3's soundtrack, even more than Uncharted 2's. Though, I'll keep this one as my favorite of the series. (with Nate's theme)

I could list the whole thing, but it's safe to say that Uncharted 3's score left a positive impression as far as I'm concern. The Arabic tones and themes were quite refreshing.
I'm nearing the end and should have a decent write up as well to tide folks over until the review embargo.
The question I keep going back to: this or TLOU?
Ill probably have to sleep on it to be honest.

Uncharted 3 was built around the set pieces, and it showed.
UC4 feels like a labor of love with a heart and a soul and action that services its story.
About halfway through now.
Super fucking impressed.
I think that'll be a debate many have. I'm personally still in the camp that thinks that whilst LoU is a better made game compared to Uncharted 2, I still prefer the latter in terms of overall enjoyment and replay value. I think the issue with LoU, and to a greater extent games like Bloodborne, is that they're so dark, emotionally draining or at times dreary or depressing, that I'm unable to continuously enjoy them over and over. The difference with the Uncharted games is that they're a bit more adventurous, light hearted and blockbuster esque in nature, which I personally find appealing, especially with respect to offering a sense of escape.
I'm hoping Uncharted 4 sits somewhere in between Uncharted 2 and Last of Us, where it's still a light hearted adventure and romp, but at the same time a bit more mature, nuanced and emotionally resonant.
I was looking forward to your impressions the most lol.
Fuck.
FUCK.
FUUUKKK
DRUCKKKKKKKMAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!
Your expectations are good. And UC4 is no where near as draining. I had to take breaks from TLOU. UC4, I'm about to complete in two sittings.
There are no words. I don't understand how this is on PS4.

I was just concerned they wouldn't be able to wrestle some of the pacing issues in the first third, but it all makes sense now. It is deliberate. ND know what they are doing.
I should have never doubted them.
This is incredible stuff. Gameplay is taken to a whole new level. That MGS quality of just wanting to replay a section over and over is in full display.
Dat replayability.I agree with this completely. Every encounter becomes a giant puzzle. And it is thrilling, thrilling, thrilling stuff.
The grapple hook is a game changer.
The vertically and scope of the levels is epic. Think UC2 tank sequence x 3.
Dat replayability.
I feel like the GAF impressions are so overwhelmingly hyperbolic that I'm setting myself up for dissapointment. Someone please tell me this game sucks.
Honestly, you won't be disappointed at all, puzzles can be a bit mind boggling but that's my only gripe tbh. Everything from the combat, sounds, voice acting, graphics, animation etc have been improved so much it just blows any other UC game away.Dat replayability.

This is music to my ears! The tank sequence from U2 is easily my favorite part from the entire series.I agree with this completely. Every encounter becomes a giant puzzle. And it is thrilling, thrilling, thrilling stuff.

Just expect a fun game with characters you enjoy. That's what I'm doing. It's not hard to keep HYPE in check with some basic self control.Dat replayability.

Uncharted soundtrack has never been great outside of Nates theme. Gustavo was a significant improvement in TLOU
Just the size and options of the encounters is what I'm referring to. The gameplay encounters feel like that x 3.
And the platforming/exploring is amazing due to the grapple hook, with the exception of some early parts.
GOTY, I'm calling it.
