I do find it absolutly baffling that, in all likelyhood, this election is going to be closer than 2008. Just...the fact that a significant portion of the country apparently considers Romney a more credible candidate than McCain is incomprehensible to me.

+1 Obama in this southern hellhole of GA. I like to think that I'm displacing some confederate flag waving hick.

Already voted the other day. I've been paying attention since the very beginning of this whole thing with the Republican primaries, and it's been a crazy ride. I'm pretty confident in an Obama win, though I'm pretty disheartened that it won't be as big as it rightfully should be. Honestly Romney is such an absolutely terrible candidate that I have almost no respect at all for someone's opinion if they're actually voting for him.

I think Obama will win but I do remember what exit polls were like for Kerry...

More curious about the Massachusetts Senate race. There are much worse politicians than Scott Brown but I'm voting for Warren

Who is that on the left? I vaguely remember him but haven't seen that face in weeks.

it is really bizarre how they tucked Paul Ryan into a cubby or something, isn't it?

Really, though, we should say the media has a part in this, since Paul Ryan HAS been campaigning in battleground states. He just gets no play anymore...

And oh crap, I can't believe I forgot to list the Vice Presidential Candidates in topic..

I know that feel. The best I feel I can do is help get better people elected at the state and local levels. I'm keeping some hope alive that there is a Dem wave in 2014 and we can get Nathan Deal out of office.

LOL. Those ads Kerry and the Pro-Dem Super PACs are running against Kerry are dirrrrrty. And the Pro GOP Super PACs seem clueless on how to respond. I am interested to see if Fischer pulls it out or not.

I just can't see Lee Terry losing, though. I know that bastard pushed for that PROTECT-IP act before finally backing down, too.
They responded by saying New York bob a little louder. Don't know how the ads are dirty though since everything I have seen says they are pretty much true.

I'm in the CA 36th District which has the race for Congress Between Mary Bono Mack and Raul Ruiz. It's interesting to see the gap between the old majority comprised of an older, white vote and the young, hispanic vote shrink every year. But really, the ads for this race have been brutal. Cant wait for them to end

I'm not qualified to judge the candidates since most info I come accross with is 100% biased and I really don't have time or motivation to investigate everything. I do sincerily hope that our US brothers can elect a good president and I wish the country luck. Hard times ahead especially over here in europe and stable USA is good for everyone :).

My impression on Obama is fairly positive and I don't even think Romney seems as bad as some say so at least I don't think either one will lead to a catastrophe or anything.

How will Husted be able to swing .5%?
Probably should've phrased it a bit more succinctly. I use .5% as a pull-it-outta-my-ass guess simply to ridicule Husted. I'm being incredibly generous to Husted's reach with that kind of a number. All these scare stories of "lost" ballots, power outages in Dem-heavy precincts, disqualified provisionals, and arguments over early voting aren't going to amount to anything that turns the state away from Obama to Romney.

Haha, yeah.

Oh god.

I'll be fine with it if Romney wins legitimately, as in there are no glaring issues with exit polls not actually matching the results, there are no issues with votes not being counted in poorer neighborhoods, ect. If there is even a sniff of that occurring and that causes the results to shift one way or the other I'd be really pissed off.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
Interested in Colorado marijuana legalization (not medical, full) initiative as well as Massachusetts assisted suicide initiative. Both are likely to pass based on pre-election polling.

This is one I'll be watching closely as well.

That's what's keeping me from voting for him in Indiana, but if you need some other kind of motivation he could always use your vote to establish a popular mandate.

An Obama win won't be as nearly as terrible as Republicans think it would be, just like a Romney win won't be as nearly as terrible as Democrats think.

Both will hilariously overreact if their preferred candidate loses, and will conveniently forget any prior pledges made to work together for the good of the country regardless of who wins. Expect salty tears from the losing party, and an inclination to give voter fraud and third parties a larger share of the blame than warranted. Hopefully no violence will result.

The election will be closer than Nate thinks, IMO, but I guess we'll all have to just wait and see what happens next week. Perhaps I will make money on the outcome.

A Romney win in a vacuum probably wouldn't be too catastrophic. A Romney win with a GOP controlled house and senate on the other hand could genuinely be terrible. I do not expect Romney to have any spine to stand up to whatever the crazy tea party representatives shove across his desk

Polls are weighted for a higher democrat turnout than Republican. If that happens then the polls are right and Obama wins. Since the trends so far on early voting are signaling a higher republican turnout than last time and lower democrat then it could be a great night for the republican party. We shall see :).

On Nov 6 after I vote, I'll be watching Fox News in HD, I need to see every pore and thread of hair on their frustrated faces.

but besides my slightly childish need for schadenfreude, I'll be looking at my list of romney win predictions, see just how far off the mark Dick Morris and the rest were (ex: Romney taking Pennsylvania). Also the idea of a state finally legalizing marijuana is amazing, it could really happen folks, high times they are a changin. Gonna be an exciting night.
