United States Election: Nov 6, 2012 |OT| - Barack Obama Re-elected

That's what's keeping me from voting for him in Indiana, but if you need some other kind of motivation he could always use your vote to establish a popular mandate.
The education amendment on the ballot is the most important thing in all honesty for GA. Yeah I hope maybe this state can change, I've see some billboards with "BlueforBarack" so maybe the creep of sanity is starting.

I know that feel. The best I feel I can do is help get better people elected at the state and local levels. I'm keeping some hope alive that there is a Dem wave in 2014 and we can get Nathan Deal out of office.
I still shake my head that this state elected a birther. Perdue was also a terrible candidate but I hope the next election brings a strong democrat to challange Deal. Though after the "tax scare" people killed T-Splost we are a long way away.

Actually, more like 16%, but the point is the same.

More like 5%. Nate is being overly conservative with the possibility all of the polls are skewed.

If the polls are correct, the only swing state right now is Florida. NC leans Romney, Virginia/CO lean Obama. Everything else is locked up.

I was so hyped and proud on election day in 08... now I just feel like I'm voting because it's my job as a registered voter. *sigh*

GoBama.. I guess...sure, why not?

They responded by saying New York bob a little louder. Don't know how the ads are dirty though since everything I have seen says they are pretty much true.

Didn't mean dirty in a fake way, but in a "damn, girl!" sort of way. They are making her out to be a psycho killer or something.

Polls are weighted for a higher democrat turnout than Republican. If that happens then the polls are right and Obama wins. Since the trends so far on early voting are signaling a higher republican turnout than last time and lower democrat then it could be a great night for the republican party. We shall see :).

They're weighted by demographics, i.e. age, race, gender, etc. Almost none of the polls are weighted by party.

An Obama win won't be as nearly as terrible as Republicans think it would be, just like a Romney win won't be as nearly as terrible as Democrats think.

I dunno, I tend to think millions of people dying from being denied for pre-existing conditions and losing healthcare if Obamacare is repealed is terrible enough.

On Nov 6 after I vote, I'll be watching Fox News in HD, I need to see every pore and thread of hair on their frustrated faces.

Oh yeah. If anyone is confused as to which network's coverage to watch, don't be. If you think you know who'll win and entertainment value is your priority, stick it on Fox.

You will see people who think the world is ending. You will literally see the fear of death in their eyes.

Not to mention all the progress that could be made with gay rights and the Supreme Court nominations that will have decadaes lasting effects. The false equivalency with these are always funny to read.

Fox will love you for tuning in. They'll cry on air while the producers smile in the booths.

RE: Supreme Court justices, I really think only Ginsburg is a guaranteed retirement in the next four years. Kennedy, Scalia, and Breyer would be likely in the next 8 and possible in the next 4, but only Ginsburg is a lock imho.

When did florida go blue?

Florida was lean-Obama up until Denver, went Romney for a while, and recently has pulled into pretty much even keel. The three polls on Friday were Obama +2, Obama +2, Romney +6. Personally, I'd expect Florida to go red.

Unless you mean the image in the OP from 2008, where Florida went for Obama.

I do find it absolutly baffling that, in all likelyhood, this election is going to be closer than 2008. Just...the fact that a significant portion of the country apparently considers Romney a more credible candidate than McCain is incomprehensible to me.

No I think if McCain was running with a credible VP he would beat Obama this time. There are a lot of people that are not happy with Obama. I wouldn't vote for Obama at all except I just can not allow someone like Romney in office.

Yeah, when you put it that way...

Granted, McCain had Palin as a running mate.

Yeah... I don't think she could hold out another 4 years even if a Republican won

Yeah.. that statement is a cousin of "there's no difference!" RIt brings to mind the saying "elections have consequences."

Obama may be gone in four years if he wins, but his court appointees will remain on the bench for decades. To the Republicans, this could be a disaster. Vice-versa for if Romney were to win. A court appointee put in place today could be still sitting there, issuing decisions at the middle of this century.

We're not just voting for one man's four-year term. Assuming that the winner gets to nominate more than 100 justices (actually a low number for recent two-term presidents), we're voting for several centuries' worth of judicial seating. The importance of this cannot be understated.

I'm staying off of Facebook and Twitter until a week or so after the election. I am so sick of this crap I could punch a kitten.

Edit: I will be voting however. Still no idea who for. Probably flip a coin on it.

I wish we could just limit the length of elections. So sick of it all at this point. Semi expecting riots of some degree if Romney were to win.

I do agree with you on the Supreme Court. I think the retirements everyone expects are no where close to happening unless there is a major medical issue that suddenly happens.

I fear that amendment will get passed. The wording on the ballot is horribly misleading and meant to deceive people who don't know what the amendment actually does. Polls haven't been reassuring either.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I'll take a trip to stormfront the night of.
Why would they support either one of the candidates? Sure, Obama is a Democrat and African American but doesn't the right believe that Romney is more in favor of Israel, aka Jewish state? Seems like a no-win situation for the Stormfront guys.

2008. It's also pretty much 50-50 this year, so it could also go blue this year.

As I said over on Polligaf, if either Ohio or Florida goes to Obama, I'm happy to declare the game over and Obama the victor.

I feel confident in calling Ohio a sure thing at this point. Florida is certainly possible but I think that its a genuine toss-up

The "they're using 2008 numbers" seems to be the talking point of the day thanks to that baseball dude's blog.

If Mass goes to Obama it's over and that should be reported early on.
I'd be willing to give-up my job and do a "Weekend at Bernie's" thing with Ginsberg to keep her going over the next four years.

It's think Breyer will try to hold out but I think he wants Obama or another dem to pick his replacement.

Many people don't (or can't) go beyond the analysis of:

things good? VOTE FOR PREZ!

things bad? VOTE FOR NOT-PREZ!

Why? Is there something about Obama that would make his supporters more likely to riot?

Rampant voter suppression by the GOP such as defying court orders about voter ID in some states. Not to mention the whole voting machine issues in ohio that would be shady in a fucking highschool election let alone a presidential election.
