I just drove by a few polling places here in Maryland and I've never seen so many Republicans in one place before (with the exception of church and a Zac Brown concert). There are lines of well-dressed, pleasant people over a mile long.
If Romney can bring out this kind of support in Maryland of all places then this thing is going to be a landslide victory for America's Comeback Team. Let's hope guys. Either that or, since it's not noon yet, most Democrats are still in bed. -Bulbo Baggins reporting live from the heart of Maryland

Bless your heart for carrying on this charade for so long Baggins. I'm gonna miss your posts after this election

Heading out to vote now. Hope it goes smoothly

Election Day 2012 began just after midnight with another historic first — the first-ever tie in a general election presidential vote in tiny Dixville Notch, N.H.

President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney each received five votes. Moments later, in the hamlet of Hart’s Location, N.H., Obama beat Romney 23 to 7.

Obama landslide!!

I feel like this whole story was fabricated so he could have a Rev Wright joke.

A black man with a derogatory Obama button at your mega-church? Righght. That's like finding a born again christian at a Saul Alinsky book signing.

You read that wrong. Many Repubs love to refer to Obama as 'Zero'. So the guy in his story had an Obama button.

Sucks I gotta wait til after work..I was gonna do it earlier but I didn't wake up early enough. Here's to hoping its not packed since our schools are closed today.

Have the polls closed yet.

I'm sorry, but your answer must be phrased as a question.

I opted for early voting and voted on Friday.

It was a tough choice between Giant Douche vs. Turd Sandwich.

Everyone vote today!

Do people vote in person for the novelty of it? Seriously, just absentee ballot.

I like to vote in person, but I try to get in on early voting. The early voting place is only 5 minutes away, so I just went one random day after work. Got there, and there was no line.

I waited in line for an hour to vote in person. Casting an absentee ballot would have meant driving an hour (round trip) to the court house where absentee ballots are cast around here.

There were no good options. At least there was line camaraderie involved with in-person voting; everyone commented on how idiotic making us wait outside in the cold was, how dumb it was to have seniors with poor eyesight manning the desks, and how absolutely batshit crazy it was to only have five voting machines total.

No real line this morning in a suburb in Missouri. In fact a lot less people then I saw in 04 and 08, much much less then 08 and this is probably a 75% Red town. Felt good to vote against that rape rape piece of shit Akin.

You lucky bastard. My suburban MO polling station had a line a hundred people deep.

The very idea that they're using the same machine for voting that my teacher used to use to grade my 8th-grade science tests is disturbing.
Why? The paper ballot is a permanent record that the voter can clearly see how their vote was recorded and if the machine breaks, you can count the ballots by hand.

The ones they use in SC keeps a copy on the machine and on this flash memory thing the poll worker sticks into it before every person votes, so nothing is lost in the event of a power outage

Nevermind, I'm terrible at remembering dates. It was Oct 12. Welp.

I remember the people at DPS saying I could still vote or something, is there any truth to that?

Go, and find out. Worst that can happen is they tell you no. There probably aren't big lines in TX anyways, seeing as how it's not a BG state, and depending on where you live there isn't much chance of there being a contentious down ticket race.

If you are allowed to vote in this election and you don't show up, they'll just toss your ballot into the "Republican" pile.

So I registered to vote when I got my drivers license early last month, but I'm not showing up when I go to check if I'm registered on the Texas website and I haven't gotten anything in the mail. Am I screwed?
How early? Looks like you need to have registered before Oct 9th to be eligible to vote in today's election.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

I have no issue with a paper ballot. In fact, I prefer them.
