lol. The awkward dinner scene with Stannis, Selyse, and Mel.

Must be awkward knowing that both people are thinking they want you out of the room so they can go at it but won't say anything about it.

Whatever happened to coldhands? Wasn't he supposed to be introduced by now, or am forgetting something they did already?

Bran saw coldhands in his vision when he told them they had to go north.

Great episode, and a lovely rendition of the Rains of Castamere there at the end. I really enjoyed the banter between Oberyn and Tywin. Now if they would just stop moving things so fast, Bran's practically at Bloodraven's doorstep.

The episode's only flaw was the inattention to the food. I think there are over 75 courses served at the wedding, and the show did not describe a single course. Roast capons stewed in goat's milk and honey. Or mashed turnips dripping saturated with butter and saffron. Or oysters mixed with onions and a fine Arbor gold.

Psychological Intellect is clearly either a book reader or wiki reader, You don't just immediately stumble on the truth like that.

What a shame. I was enjoying the whodunnit theories developing.
I wondered about him before tonight. Not to say it would be impossible to figure who killed Joffrey, but he's been a bit on the nose about other things.

I watched the east coast feed and am going to watch it with my sis for our west coast showing in hi def. Will be interesting to see how quickly she figures it out since she hasn't read the books.

Reliving this scene kind of makes me think this whole business of putting the blame on Tyrion was just pure nonsense, as was the poison plan. Why did the poison need to be carried in in such a convoluted way?

Is it still a hugely popular belief that Coldhands is Bran's uncle? I remember that being a very strong theory but I don't think it was ever outright confirmed, unless I missed something.

I see. I wonder if they would write extra material for Coldhands then, in order to include him. If Bran's reaching the cave this season, he'll have nothing to do.

They could really drag out the time it takes him to reach the wall and then the time it takes from the wall to their destination north of it. He'll basically just be traveling for a while.

The second I saw the hand in his vision though I thought of Coldhands, I don't know what else it would have been.

It is a theory, but we don't know at this point.

Yes, that would surely make for high quality TV.

That's what I thought, but the theory about him being The Night's King seems also plausible.

And no dancing bear.

I wish they'd done that too, but hey at least we got to see some dwarf jousting (Penny was nowhere to be seen though). I also envisioned the cake waaaaaaaay bigger when I read the book but maybe I was wrong about that.

Yeah. I guess it all depends on whether Coldhands has any significance beyond just escorting Sam and Gilly back to the Wall and Bran and Company to the cave.

Then again, the way in which they downplayed the Black Gate beneath the Wall last year and the more supernatural side of things there makes me think they might just ax Coldhands altogether. Which would be a shame since he's basically a cool Bob Fett like character- sort of a badass but you don't know much about him.

I like the theory that he's the original Night's King.

John Bradley (Sam) said he was cut but that may have meant only for his parts but I think that he's cut from the show completely.

Yeah, that theory is better than Benjen. I always thought it was Benjen until I read the new theory.

Benjen theory is basically we don't where he is and Coldhands is wearing black. The night's king has more.

We don't know that. One of the dwarfs was masked the entire time.

Ah, I hadn't seen that idea. Need to reread Book 5, but that sounds interesting.

What are you talking about? Bran is already north of the wall on the show.

I thought that was smart. It allows the showrunners/writers to have that dwarf be Penny if they want down the road, without having to do like they did with Beric in season 1 and having a extra play him only to be recast down the road.

After googling some pictures seems like it was Sigur ros as the wedding band, hilarious.

Also I love Olenna speech about how only a monster would kill a man at a wedding while she is fiddling with the necklace. Soooo good.

"Not now, Mace."

Diana Rigg and Charles Dance have such great chemistry. They should just get married in real life and kill the fuck out of everyone.

Leaf said that Coldhands "was killed long ago", so yeah, he's probably not Benjen.
At this point, I don't think they'll introduce him in the show at all. I don't think he is needed.

Cornballer gonna be calling Ilyn Payne pretty soon in the other thread. Jeez.

They definitely left enough of a hint between the framing shots this week and the necklace scene last week for non-book readers to figure it out. Have we ever seen an episode open immediately following the previous one? Given how this one ends there's not really another way to do it.

In the preview
Tyrion has a pretty good stumble going. I wouldn't be surprised if it picks up a week or so after.
