Just to clarify about the Kevan scenario:
I didn't write that to be coy or anything. Our source honestly wasn't sure if it was Kevan (Ian Gelder) or not. However, the fact that there was a man who looked like him in the company of Qyburn and the Mountain would seem to indicate that it is indeed him... who else could it be?

Yeah, unless they just couldn't get Kevan back so they've introduced some new Lannister uncle who is exactly like him, it seems likely that Kevan is in.

If everything we worry about is indeed cut, might as well stop calling this an adaptation and accept this is ASOIAF's Blade Runner (except worse).
Let's take a look at the books considering the rumours are true and assuming unannounced characters were cut.

ADWD will obviously get more content because of Jon, Tyrion and Daenerys, but it doesn't look good either.

We always knew Feast & Dance would be hacked to pieces, neither of them are fit for TV in the slightest and GRRM's hopes of three 13 hour seasons to cover both books sounded absolutely shit tier. Losing major characters like Arianne & Vic really does stink though.

Feast/Dance barely manage to hold all their plot together in written form. It just wasn't going to happen on TV. Honestly, other than the
Jaime
shenanigans, which are a pretty arbitrary change, the outline of what we have here is about as faithful to those books as could be expected. Of course, we don't really have any intel on how they're structuring the Northern stuff, either, so I don't really know if that part will be faithful or diverge wildly.

I hope it's the case.
Maybe Drizz Lannister will finally appear.
Or this....yeah this is better.

So I just saw the promotional shots of Dorne (spoilers ahead)

So Jaime is definitively going to dorne? Could be interesting, but I feel that is a risky move

I also pictured Doran Martell a much more frail person, kind of like theoden in TTT before gandalf. It is pretty awesome that Alexander Siddig from Kingdom of Heaven is playing him, amazing actor

You mean
Alexander Siddig
"from Star Trek", surely.

I love the "...and his father too, I think." scene where Kevan eats Cersei alive. Season 5 wont be too entertaining with the overly sympathetic Cersei we've been getting. I want to see her and Olenna at each others throats.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje cast for series 5.

He's playing Malko, a character not in the books.

Also...

I actually think Daznak's Pit will be an improvement over the book. If they can pull this off, it can be one of the greatest television scenes in recent memory.

- Watchers: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje To Join Game of Thrones Cast
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, perhaps best known for his role as Kurse in Thor: The Dark World, is set to join the cast of Game of Thrones for the fifth season.

While there isn’t a whole lot of information regarding Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s involvement in Thrones, if the current rumors are true, he will be playing a wholly new character:

Details of the role are being kept under wraps but is said to be a character not in the books with the name ‘Malko.’

I hate spoilers, no, I loath spoilers, just shows how tired I'm of waiting for the books that I read pretty much any and all that has to do with the show :(

I think visual effects usually aren't finished when they air a teaser (although something surrounding that event would be a sweet teaser)

It is known.

--------

Siddig playing Doran is still amazing everytime I see it, can't wait to see the performance.

I know someone who worked VFX on the last season and they were working on their scenes until two weeks before the episodes went to air, so yep

Oh. I thought you were being sarcastic, sorry :/

Yeah, they've been looking to cast a young Cersei and Maggy the Frog.

As well as a friend for young Cersei, so that element of it is probably in as well.

But yeah, I think we'd hear by now if they were casting a Rhaegar or an Arthur Dayne or a young Robert or whatever other flashback characters there may be. Part of the reason they avoid flashbacks is because of how many characters they'd have to cast. For this season at least, I think the Maggy the Frog flashback is all we're getting.

When WOIAF comes out can we at least get people to tag/spoiler it for a few weeks so people who are reading it can still enjoy this thread with filming going on right now?

AFFC/ADWD barely have spoilers for the show at this point, why do you think TWOIAF would have any? It's a small wiki in book form with cool art about old fake history.
It is said that it does smash/promote a few theories, but there was a review on reddit saying a full half was about Targaryen kings, so you shouldn't worry too much.

We have a thread for book discussion. I doubt anything in there will apply specifically to the show. And there's probably nothing in it that could even qualify as a spoiler.

I know it's history stuff, just don't want to come into this thread and see discussion about it out in the open while I'm still reading the book.

I'm avoiding the other thread until I finish reading it, same as when ADWD came out.

But with no Vic? What's the point?

He travels with Tyrion before Victarion. Maybe Jorah and Tyrion meet him in Volantis, he advises them to get on a boat, etc. Maybe they get captured by some people who want to kill Dany and Moroqoro leads them to a painful death, as I assume he'll do to Victarion in the books.

Who can say? So far in the books I wouldn't say either of Moqorro and Victarion have any "point". They've both been totally irrelevant to broader politics and to the lives of any characters introduced before A Feast for Crows.
What does that say about Dany, Bran and Brienne, then?

Well at least Dany has some development / a character arc. Bran is himself worthless but at least gives us access to politics / history of the North. Brienne got to hang out with Jaime, Renly, Cat, The Hound, plus gives us flavor of Westeros.

Vic's character arc is "I'm a complete homicidal maniac". Moqorro's is "I'm black and spooky".

I wonder if they simply changed Moqorro's name.

I think he's either a reworked Moqorro or he's going to be the lead pit fighter. I don't really think Moqorro needs Vic to work, since he interacts with Tyrion as well, and all the really matters is he get to Meereen eventually. Moqorro's one of those character's it's really hard to know if he matters or not yet.

Also, the most recent Watchers update with the pics of the Sand Snakes in their matching battle armor is really adding to the medieval Sailor Moon Squad vibe...
