GoT on IMAX was pretty hot. I hope they do more things like that.

Season 5 early premier on the big screen would be incredible.

hehe cast as "a" Thenn doesn't sound very impressive

Kind of weird that the show is putting so much emphasis on the Thenns. I guess the point is to show that it makes sense for the Southrons to fear Wildlings; that in addition to lovely Ygritte and guffawing Tormund here also are these monsters. I dunno, though, Wildlings make sense to me if it's a huge mass of humans from dozens of tribes but if all we're exposed to are basically-good-and-honorable freedom fighters Mance and Tormund and then savage vindictive monster cannibals it starts to strain credulity that the Wildlings would be allied amongst themselves.

Heads up for book readers since this thread is more active. Possible major book spoilers incoming.

Anyways, to business: I was scrolling Twitter, when I noticed this tweet from Waterstones (Don't judge me). For those too lazy to click the link, it links to three photos consisting of a letter from Georgie himself to his editors, giving the broad strokes of the over all story line.

So, is this the genuine article? Do you believe that Harper Collins would truly give the info to Waterstones to publish for the world to see? I'd read somewhere that his editors had thought of publishing this letter, but only once the series had been competed.

I read the letters. I wouldn't worry too much about them.
First and foremost, it's all very different then the actual novels. For example, there's a part about Sansa having Joffrey's child, and another about Tyrion burning Winterfell. Benjen is Lord Commander and Cat is killed by an Other. It's pretty much all like that. But also, the paragraph about the end game is totally redacted so even if it was accurate, the info is not out there. It's worth reading just to see how different his initial plans were.

You should spoiler that since the angle may just have been altered not removed from GRRM's writting. And there is absolutely spoiler material in the letter.

Isn't it a bit late to get 'casting news'?

I mean, haven't they already shot this season. How did we not know Kevan was back.
Not a complaint, I really just assumed he would be there. They kind of need him for Cersei to talk to someone now.

I knew that the
Jon/Arya pairing wasn't just my imagination.
, and it could still happen.

Interesting to see what seeds he had originally been planting in the first few chapters.
That Joffrey would eventually become a battle ready warrior, that Tyrion would get a chance to lead an army. I guess being an acrobat and tumblr he could become the head of an army. :p

The pairing was hinted at in that chapter early on, but I didn't see that as a pairing at all, but how those two were bonded. She talks about missing him greatly.

How great that she of all people was this person that everyone was falling in love with. ha. I guess it's the ugly duckling thing.

I'm still waiting for Jon/Sansa.

It's usually dependent on whenever the actor or their agent updates their CV.

GRRM Statement from the Letter about writing:

if I know exactly where a book is going, I lose all interest in writing it

.... Fuck.
So thats why he is slowing down. He sees the end and loses interest :/

contribute something
There is some disturbing stuff in there.
Love triangle between Arya, Jon and Tyrion. Wat. she's like ten.

She would have been 15-17 by this time. GRRM wanted the series to span a wider length of time, and he very sorely abandoned his hope of a 5-year jump after the third book.

- Making Game of Thrones: 3 First Looks in Sunday's "A Day in the Life" Special
This Sunday, Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life will let you step onto the set. The 30-minute special documents one epic day of production as tackled by hundreds of crew members across three countries. In addition to a behind-the-scenes look at the action in Dubrovnik, Croatia, Belfast, Northern Ireland and Seville, Spain, the preview includes several never-before-seen features. Below are three things to look forward to:

1. THE WATER GARDENS OF DORNE

Prince Oberyn Martell mentioned to Cersei that her daughter Myrcella enjoyed the Water Gardens. Now, the Dornish setting makes its on-camera debut in Season 5. The real-life location attracts an average of 8,000 tourists each day.

2. A NEW CHARACTER IN ACTION

See Jonathan Pryce, aka the High Sparrow, play against Lena Headey's Cersei Lannister.

3. A NEW NORTHERN OUTPOST

Go inside the creation of a fishing village north of the Wall.

Any chance for Victarion this season? The Greyjoys need some redemption after D&D made the ironborn look weak last season.

Well depending on which theories you believe, we may have already had Euron last season.

Who the hell wrote that?

"Never betray me."

*Missandei throws Dany off the balcony*

"No."

Well, it's in the books but boy am I glad they cut that, the tone is just so different from the books it feels wrong. Also, I don't think it works with the older Missandei that the show has.

Well the actresses did a piss poor job of conveying it. I mean I get it, but Dany comes off as more silly and aloof than usual. It's almost like something out of a soap opera.
