Stannis being shown in an almost positive light? Whaaaat.

It's almost like he's the Lord of Light. I can't wait to finally see Stannis get into some Northern action.

Oh and someone pointed out this screenshot likely proves a book theory about Tyrion seeing Drogon while on the Rhoyne:

Book text in question:
“This was the most beautiful city on the river, and the richest,” said Yandry. “Chroyane, the
festival city.” Too rich, thought Tyrion, too beautiful. It is never wise to tempt the dragons. The drowned city
was all around them. A half-seen shape flapped by overhead, pale leathery wings beating at the fog. The
dwarf craned his head around to get a better look, but the thing was gone as suddenly as it had
appeared.

Yeah, in all the Sansa hype, I forgot to mention, Stannis looks fucking AWESOME in this trailer. Cannot fucking wait for his dialog with Jon on top of the Wall when Jon is offered Winterfell.

Is there a reason we're spoiler tagging officially released trailers?

OP says:

ON SPOILERS

There are no rules!

Kidding of course, there is one spoiler-related rule. Any content from books beyond A Dance with Dragons needs to be appropriately spoiler-tagged. Please use the tag TWOW or ADOS so everyone is on the same page.

Yeah guys. Nobody we know dies in the trailer, and no one has a clue what these scenes portend aside from a bunch of conflict that is heavily tied to things that have already happened.

Things are messed up.

Speculate away.

Who are these people?

There's no way she's fArya. What's going to be fascinating (besides my hunch that as I previously stated, I'm convinced she's going to lead the Grand Northern Conspiracy to take out the Boltons), is when she comes face to face with Reek. I think they're the only two people who would know each other on-sight.

I can't get over how bad Emilia Clarke is when she's trying to be authoritative but calm, and collected at the same time. Not that her rage face is better, though

Is Sansa in the Winterfell crypts?????

Remember that one theory someone on here had that she would be fArya?

Well, the more alluring theory now is that she's going to lead the Northern Conspiracy instead of Wyman Manderly. The one thing that makes no sense about her being fArya is that she isn't a fake, SHE IS Sansa Stark! That means any marriage to Ramsay would be legitimate. Ramsay would actually be able to legitimately control Winterfell provided it's discovered that she is Sansa Stark.

Dammnnnn, haven't seen that trailer yet but the whole
sansa being jeyne pool/in winter fell thing
is kind of freaking me out.

Thus far I have tried to withhold any info on the show, as its passing the books, but its going to be hard to have all friends that dont read the books talking about the show. This might seal the deal for me

I've always secretly liked this about her. I think Dany in the books is a basically incompetent pretender, too. She's all affectation and putting on airs. Makes sense to portray her as projecting force but being actually hollow. It's either a good acting choice or a good casting choice.

Yeah. It's funny to say, but I feel like Emilia's shortcomings as an actress conveniently play into Dany's weaknesses as a ruler. So it kinda works for me. I do sometimes imagine a more talented actress in that role, though...

I dont agree, there are ways to convey weakness and insecurity besides reading your lines with no emotion and a plank face

I just think the line itself is pretty bad, like why is she now all of a sudden talking about Westeros? You've got Ser Barristan Badass Walking History Book Selmy, walking by your side and you haven't once asked him about Westeros or your family and now you wanna start talking about Starks and Lannisters? That line hasn't been earned yet in either the books and especially not the show.

It is. The stories are going to be very different from here on out. You can't look at the books for guidance on characters anymore.

This is why I don't care that George is behind the show schedule. Even when they have the book template, they make big changes.

I got relatively high quality grabs of every single shot of the trailer from the 1080p Quicktime off the Apple site.

Here's the album.

That's awesome. Thank you. Looks like Bronn is in Dorne, too.

Fighters in a mini fighting pit at an auction.

Edit: I might have to bow out for a while. My head is threatening to explode from all the hype. The Mannis has come.

After going through the whole thing shot by shot, looks clear that these guys are involved in this scene where Jorah is fighting and Dany is watching (probably unaware that it's Jorah).

Also looks like Jaime and Bronn steal their attackers' clothes:

From a production standpoint this season looks absolutely insane. That footage is genuinely impressive for a TV show.

Probably has to deal with the news of Tywin's death and her going to Westeros eventually, but is going to stay and fix Meereen first

On Topic: This is an awesome trailer.

I may be alone in this, but I don't so much mind Sansa taking the place of fArya as I do her also maybe taking the place of Manderly. The fArya merger is weird, and kind of convoluted, but as long as they don't revictimize her with Ramsay, I think it's ok. And I think the Sansa/Theon scenes could be legitimately great. But giving Manderly's role over to a Stark kid just irks me. There are no Stark supporters right now in the show besides the Starks themselves, and the Tullys who are tied to them by marriage. Right now, it's like why should we even care about the Starks retaking the North, when as far as we can tell, no one save for the Starks themselves cares much about them being there. I thought an merging Manderly into Umber was smart for TV, but going a step further and giving it all to Sansa strips the whole element of Northern loyalty to the Starks out of the plot.

Not to be too negative though, I think everything else we're seeing here looks great.

Edit: Reading through the non-book reader thread, and just happened to see some of the results of my complaint about the Northern lords situation:

When they had an independent North and the Lannisters on the ropes -- before Robb Stark alienated 60-70% of his army?

The idea that 70%of the North full-on turned on Robb, rather than just a small percentage, seems like something the show needs to combat for that plot to have the emotional impact it really needs.

Your reasoning above is the one reason I can't see her as fArya. I can't imagine they have her go through even close to the amount of shit Jeyne went through in the book. Plus, I can't imagine having her victimized by Ramsay would make sense with where they're trying to take her character.

Something interesting could be her having a hold on Ramsay like Margaery had on Joffery, but that just doesn't fit Ramsay's character, I don't think.
