I guess. I mean most people I've spoken to irl about this were wondering what had happened and why he was just suddenly cut out mid season. It's not that weird to be frustrated that they just gave up including him one day.

I'm more worried about Bran. Is he still at that campfire? Who's going to carry him now?

smh. whatever dudes. Clearly not getting it.

This isn't unusual for the wolves. The same thing happened in previous seasons. Ghost especially (since he's really the only one which matters anymore). In some seasons he would show up in an episode or two early on and then never appear again. In some he wouldn't be in the season at all until suddenly appearing in some scene late in the season. There's no consistency because they seem to really struggle with the effects for the wolves, more so than the dragons.

Is it realistic to expect the Citadel to be shown in the finale? I was really looking forward to seeing it and Oldtown this season, and so far that has been the one disappointment. I thought Sam would have a large role this season, but instead he's barely in it...

Does it even make sense for them to design and create sets for Oldtown and the Citadel just for a single episode? Or are they likely just saving it for next season? :(

Filming stuff:
They supposedly shot a scene of Sam talking to a maester on the steps of a building, so I think you're probably going to get a CGI shot of it.

On the wolves, I kind of wonder if the live animals CGed into the scene ends up being the most difficult of both worlds. All the challenge of doing a CG scene, but also all the challenge of doing a live animal scene, which is maybe why we get more dragons than wolves.

Varys was the one who fed aerys' obsession with rhaegar looking to supplant him. He did way more than pycelle to set the downfall in motion.
Opening the gate didnt really do anything anyway. The city had a few goldcloaks left, no targ armies, and Ned and Tywin both had hosts there at the same time.

Rhaegar was looking to supplant him. That was the whole reason behind the tourney at Harrenhal.

But if he actually cared about the realm then he would've let Rhaegar do his thing.

It's funny but you could say that Robert's Rebellion is Varys' fault.

If Rhaegar had succeeded he would've been king and while likely he would've stolen Lyanna still, Robert would've sat down and taken it instead of rebelling.

It's really Aerys burning Rickard, killing Brandon and asking Jon Arryn for Ned and Robert's heads that kicked things off.

The final scene of Season 6 will be Jon in the crypts opening a secret panel in a wall, and finding a hidden chamber with Rhaegar's Legendary Unique Set Armor made of Valyrian Steel. Slow zoom on the armor as the runes start lighting up. Credits.

Won't happen. He hasn't found the five ancient treasures and needs to finish the Winterfell upgrades and repairs first.

Or spend Uplay points.

Yeah I think it all of the sudden becomes very complex production wise to have the wolves in a bunch of scenes. As it should be clear for those that are following the show and production closely, time is the ultimate enemy of producing this show and getting it out the door every 12 months.

Compound that with them never really having the real estate to deep dive into how special the wolves relationship was with each Stark kid early on, and they just kind of become a "nice to have, but not essential" item later in the series.

It's a shame, but looking at the big picture it's relatively understantable in my eyes.

I would totes hang that in a frame in my room haha

Read some batshit theory by a fan that Jon will behead Mel which will in turn turn Longclaw into Lightbringer.

Finale is 69 minutes though, he might manage. We've seen there of the five treasures already - Longclaw, Heartsbane, Oathkeeper. Wonder where the rest are...

I think people who think Jon will kill Melisandre to light his sword on fire weren't paying attention at all.

It was AA sacrificing something precious to himself that made Lightbringer.

Jon doesn't care about Melisandre.

Jon would have to kill Arya/Sansa/Daenerys/Rickon/Bran for the power up.

Also the legend of Lightbringer is how all Valyrian swords were likely created.

Sacrificing people that the person cherished to imbue it with magical properties.

edit: this gif is interesting cause it also shows the difficult of working with horses. Theres some dude hanging onto to the horse and looks like he's used his other arm to give the horse a slap to get it going.

Beware of course. Spoilers don't need to be tagged at this subreddit.

Yeah, for the most part I'm pretty ok with the sidelining of the wolves. Kind of had to happen for TV. Only Summer's death really bothers me, because Bran is the one character where it really should matter, and if that loss is going to happen it should be something uniquely devastating for Bran, instead of what we got where he kind of just rolled with it and was talking to Benjen the next day like no big deal

Imagine if he had slapped Ramsay to death with his rubber sword

From now on we can only call it Floppyclaw.

I can't believe #TeamLSH still lives. That delusion is harder to kill than a White Walker.

I do appreciate them taking care of the horses, since that's obviously a real horse Kit Harrington is riding and it would be very uncomfortable for an actor to wear a stiff sword.

Still, they could have used hard plastic or CG.

There's no fucking way Jon orders Mel's execution.

what are the chances lady stoneheart is left for the finale reveal? Seems like a solid thing to hype people for the next season. Zombie mom, zombie mom.
I'm going with zero percent...like we are moving towards the end game...not making plots that aren't necessary appear.

I hope in Season 7 they put out a casting call for a new character called Lady Stonehart. And for it just to end up being a bit role for someone in a minor house called... Lady Stonehart.

Ghost has been weirdly absent basically all season. I had to go back and check because I thought I'd forgotten that he died along with Summer and Shaggy Dog :/ Like, I get that it's expensive but given how important they have been in the past as a symbol for the Starks fighting etc, Ghost was very noticeably not there - especially in the battle.

There's been more CGI than usual this season, I think. I wish we could see more Ghost myself but Wun Wun was pretty awesome and I can sympathize with their decision making there.
