I purchased stuff from Book Depository and they sent my strategy guides in a sack.

Now that you tell me about Amazon US, I'm a little concerned.

I purchased a $750 monitor from them 2 years ago and it went half way around the world, luckily it came to where I live just fine. But aside from that, most of my Amazon US experiences have been pretty good.

Anyways - regarding the Vita. I think Sony has to be a little concerned with how the Switch/3DS is doing. Are they really conceding the entire handheld space to Nintendo? Are they betting on mobile? Surely you have to hedge your bets a little. There's 60m 3DS, and probably another 10m Switches by the end of the year. 3DS is going to keep going all the way till the end of 2018 and beyond I imagine. I think Sony are crazy to let Nintendo do as they please here, even if mobile is King, it may very well not be in a few years time. Things change, trends are cyclical, handhelds may not have been cool in the Vita days, but they are making a move now with the Switch at least in Japan. Sony ought to be thinking about how they can create a game that scales well in development between home console and a handheld console without having to do the work twice. TGS is in one month and a bit, let's hope there are some whispers of new hardware in this direction at least.

So Top Trumps Turbo trophies don't even sync to PSN.
They only exist locally. No wonder there's no trophy lists online for it.

What's up with that?

It varies from hub to hub, so you never know.
I rarely have issues tbh.

Hence my comment. They should all be more like Amazon Japan though.

They definitely are the best. Things are packed so nicely from t hem.

Super chuffed! I managed to get my brother to pick me up a copy of Trails of Cold Steel 2 for $10 at EB Games in Australia.

$90 for both games 1 & 2 at ozgameshop was pretty steep for me to get into, but I can definitely pick up 1 now next time I put in an order there.

I wanted to get more JRPGs for the Vita, so these two plus FFX/X-2 and Tokyo Xanadu should fit the bill nicely.

Haha I was afraid to say that in the Cs1&2 PS4 remaster thread yesterday as it might have been port begging but I agree would be nice to have the complete series on the vita. Though I kind of don't want it either if it's going to be a way worse version than switch and Ps4.

And yeah I had resorted to buying the digital versions because the physical simply never went on sale. Probably a publisher thing. Just managed to stumble across it on EBs site yesterday as they sometimes do clearances but it completely depends on stock at EB shops. Most of the time it's just one or two copies left in stores that are too far away but luckily this one was just twenty minutes from where we lived.

Speaking of Tokyo Xanadu, what are the differences between the Vita and PS4 versions? I'm definitely getting the Vita version, but I have a preorder of the PS4 version with a nice discount, so I'm wondering if it's worth keeping or if I should just cancel it.

WTF, are you guys telling me there's a digimon named Sistamon and is actually a... nun...?

Where's Mikomon?

No, Sakuyamon isn't one. It's a scary killer monk with a freaky mask, not a miko.

Edit: It looks like both Sistamon is actually partially themed with Angewomon/Lady Devimon.

The cover doesn't have a female protagonist on it and there's no DLC costume for one.

I wonder why they chose to go with only 1 mc. It's not like they changed any of the dialogue in the first game. While upsetting, it's a digimon game that's being localized. So I'll suck it up.

The Vita original of Cyber Sleuth is one of the most polished games in terms of graphics and performance. It shows what the Vita can do, if you develope and not downport for it.

If that was Amazon US, they would have folded it in half and shoved it in an envelope. I'd consider yourself lucky...

Eh, I order an absolute ton of stuff from Amazon. Games, books, all of our sundries [prime + subscribe and save]... and we almost never have any problems. They pack things too good, sometimes. They even put insulation packing around chocolate bars, etc.

Maybe our local packer is awesome and yours sucks? The only time we've have any issues really is with really heavy yet small objects... like big cannisters of powder. They come crushed sometimes, but amazon always refunds and replaces, so it's kind of like winning the mini-lottery when that happens.

I know it goes against the common wisdom, but I do not, and have never thought, Sony is done with the handheld space. I just can not see them conceding the handheld space. I think it's an epic mistake to allow your base to 'switch' [har har] ecosystems like that. Every time I temporarily check out other ecosystems [steam, android, etc] it's months of lost sales for sony, and while I come back, certainly not everyone will. In a way, the switch is extra 'dangerous' since a user can shift to nintendo for tv gaming as well, essentially reducing sony's ecosystem lock across the board.

In my opinion, they do need to release something. Perhaps they feel so burned on the vita they don't... but I truly hope they do, and I truly hope they learn from their mistakes with the vita. I hope they also [as i've mentioned before] market it as a portable ps2 player for maximum leverage of their back catalog, which alone might be enough to secure it some level of decent success.

Sony has always been a gadget company. I just can't see them leaving the space. Time will tell.

You guys reminded me that I never did beat Cyber sleuth. How's the vita port?

The vita version is fantastic, imo. I burnt out a little leveling digimons... but that's on me, not the game.

Picked up Disney Infinity 2.0 from GAME since it was randomly in stock for £8. Guy asks if I was buying it for the figs, wife proceeds to rail on me for being a huge Spider-man fan.

Just stood there muttering "I- I collect vita stuff...".

Also add me to the list of people that succesfully got a copy of Collar X Malice from Bazzar-Bazzar. Might use them for other stuff too, I ordered yesterday evening, it dispatched that evening and arrived in the morn on unpaid postage.

Ah, a voice of reason.

This will totally go against their previous design guidelines, but if there's a Vita 2 I hope they strip out all the unnecessary bits and keep the cost down. Things like back touch, gyro, cameras, memory (make it internal), don't make the screen any higher than 720p.

The vita version is fantastic, imo. I burnt out a little leveling digimons... but that's on me, not the game.

I wonder if hacker's sleuth will have an asian english physical release? I hope so.

This is news right?

Seems Valfaris (from Slain creator) is coming to Vita.

Also Iconoclasts running on Vita:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_lTk7siIsg

Good news, but only if they get the thing running better than Slain which felt very uncomfortable for me to play on the Vita - the frame rate felt like it was running under 30FPS at all times, and it had weird pauses throughout my playthrough. The PS4 version was silky smooth though so I just went back to playing it on that.

Great news! Game looks amazing, and speaking of Slain, just got the LE from SRG. Came quick and was packaged well. Will definitely buy from them again.

Iconoclasts looks fantastic, too!

I'm so conflicted with SRG. I loved their package for Slain, it was amazing... but I'm just not really interested in Count Lucanor or The Long Reach.

Question regarding activated Vita. If you sell an used Vita, do you have to deactivate it first? I mean, does this have any effect for the person who buys it, if its not deactivated first? Mainly wondering about PS4, but i assume its the same with Vita.

On the PS4 you don't need to deactivate, since it does that automatically whenever you switch primary console to another one. Leaving it will let the new owner play your games on his account, but also strips you of the benefits of having a primary console like starting downloads from the web store.

A Vita however has to be deactivated, either on the device itself or using the deactivate all function on the SEN website, or it will continue to occupy one of the 3 activation slots you have available. And leaving it won't be of any benefit to the new owner, unless you let him keep useing your PSN account.

I see. Thanks for the info :) Then its just to do a factory reset on the PS4, and its good to go (regarding selling or gifting it).

Despite what was announced on the EU blog, Plague Road is not releasing this Friday in Europe.

Dev seems not happy with the Mecho Tales (lack of) coverage on PS blogs:

https://twitter.com/LucBernard

Honestly, I was bigging up Luc for the longest time but I'm a bit tired of the melodrama he's been posting over the past couple of weeks.

If he's Switching to Switch, fine. It's his decision, don't keep teasing it on Twitter and moaning about Sony.

It's been a few years since I was done with the whole "make some noise for ______", specially being a Vita owner. I still make a lot of noise for stuff I'm passionate about, I just don't like when companies ask me to do it.

I was keen when the whole Oceanhorn campaign was going, that felt good.

With Luc, it's just the rapid turn from "I'm making everything for Vita!" to "I'm done with Vita" in the space of, literally, a couple of days. I can understand his frustration with the blog post situation, but still.

My biggest issue at the moment is that he keeps saying things along the lines of "we were investing money to make Vita exclusives" despite the fact that Death Tales is currently PS4-only based on the beta; Plague Road came to PS4/XB1/PC and Mecho Tales is PS4/Vita. Even the games under his last company were PS4/Vita/Steam (Desert Ashes).

He's just being melodramatic to try and make the blog team cave, and being kinda insulting to all the Vita fans who have supported him. I can kinda see where the negative opinions of him from the past are coming from.

So I found a copy of Yomawari: Night Alone at Gamestop. Didn't even know they carried it. It was an open "new" game and $55 CDN (the price of a normal $40 USD release), so I passed.

Sounds about right since the game has been out of print for several months now, even though I will always think the open "new" thing at Gamestop is some bull.
