接受(A) is accept.

Deleted the folder, did the reddit trick, ended up redownloading and it still fails during install in windows update, I'm guessing this is still isn't ready here. (France).

I did the same thing and kept getting errors in the windows update. I had to use the taskbar icon to trigger the install.

What are the steps to clean install from that link? I just started downloading the iso.

I did "upgrade this computer" from that tool and at the point of install it gives you the option to do a "fresh" install, deleting all files... at least on mine it did... have not tried it just saw it as an option.

Edit... if you don't want to use the ISO, there is a link a page or two back for how to clean install from iso

I tried to install the Preview version but kept on getting a frozen installation at 27%. Anyone else had this?

Totally depends on your computers spec, but I've seen it hang at a random percentage for over 45 minutes on my slower laptop.

Just let it do its thing. Keep the faith.

Well I got Windows 10 running without a hitch so good luck everyone I'm going to bed now.

I'm trying to use the creationtool to upgrade but I'm getting the vague "Something happened, something happened" message as well.

Yikes, mine is continuing but hopefully it won't crap out due to files already having been downloaded to my surface and hose my chance. Guess we'll find out

Yeah it sucks. I'm just downloading the ISO now. I read you can mount it in windows 8.1 and upgrade from there. So even if the $something folder is busted it should still work.

So, how to do a clean install after I downloaded it? I read that I have to update first and then I can do the clean install - but how?
Assuming you have a retail 7/8 key, google for "Sean Windows 8 SSD guide" and use the steps that apply.

To those people who have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 (Upgrade, non-clean install)

1. Do all your drivers still work?
2. How fast was the update?
3. Did it break any software compatibility? (Especially important question for playing old games)

wait, so i don't actually need to burn this .iso?

i definitely do not have a blank DVD around lol.

i can just mount this image and install?

actually?

Am i the only one whose cpu is hitting high percents on idle? I don't have this issue with Win7.

Give it a bit to settle. It has to install all the updates in the background.
Mine normalized after a while (and a couple restarts)

My idle is now down to 2-4%

Well got Windows 10 on my desktop this morning and installed. (UK here). Had to do the "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" command after deleting files in the software distribution download folder, then on windows update, it had "Windows 10 is downloading" message then after it downloaded it had "preparing to install" which happened for a while. Not sure how long as I was trying the same things on my W7 laptop which I couldn't get W10 upgrade message to pop up. (At least got the "notify message for that.)
Anyway went back to the desktop upgrade message appeared, took a while to finish installing then was all done! Just had to restart a few times after that as 980Ti drivers and Geforce experience needed to be restarted to finish for some reason.
Funnily enough only reserved on my desktop a few weeks ago, (as it is new), and my laptop on the day they opened up reservations for W10. Might be a combination of newer components and/or having Windows 8 or 7 which determines the wave?

Only problem I had is Edge. I quite like the look of it actually. Only problem is when going to import favourites, Firefox wasn't an option for me. Only IE and couldn't see anyone else who had the same problem online so have to look again later.

Good luck to everyone else hoping to get it today!

No issues and I didn't bother with a clean install. OS feels snappy and game performance is basically the same as it was on W8.1. Briefly tried Witcher 3.

I'm guessing games will need updates to use DX12 though? Maybe new GPU drivers too?
