I doubt its MSFS and I don't think most would consider it a "big game" from a financial point of view. If I had to bet then it will be Starfield, Indiana Jones or both.

I see XGS stuff like Halo, Forza, and Gears staying exclusive and Bethesda and ABK being multiplatform in the future.

But if you are right about MSFS then I'll shout out to you.

Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment are arguably the best new games XGS has produced in years, despite their size. Not even kidding. Especially Pentiment, had heaps of fun on PC and the writing there is terrific.

It's literally cream of the crop that is going multiplat.

Anyway it was a joke, I already downloaded it and put zero hours into it on PC, I will add it to my account and never download it when it hits PS+.

It's just not my kinda game.

These games that the verge are suggesting arent gonna move the needle with sales. Basically there is no ROI in porting those and nothing else. Most PS5 owners arent gonna even flinch at those. Waste of time. There has top be more than this.

Even if Microsoft doesn't intend to ever release the heavy hitters (Starfield, Indy, etc..) on Playstation, there is absolutely no way they are going to be able to believably communicate that to consumers at this point.


They're actively creating an expectation of "eh, I'll just wait until it comes to Playstation" for their first party titles.


They either need to go all in to exclusivity or all in to publishing on all platforms. This muddled, noncommittal, milquetoast approach benefits no one.

This is a pretty good post. I don't see how this strategy helps them. I'd go so far as to say I don't see how this strategy helps the entire industry, but that's another conversation, but I don't see how this helps Microsoft's Xbox brand.

I think they think it makes sense, I don't care either way but I find the extreme takes on all this funny as hell when the reality is nothing of the sort Don't you see it? I'd name and shame but I can't be arsed. I'd be happy to see one big franchise go to another platform just so they'd be half right but it doesn't look likely does it?

I just looked at what Pentiment actually is and yeah, they can keep it. Looks like something hipsters would play just because its avant-garde.
And after looking at Microsoft Games catalogue for the first time, the only ports I'm actually interested in are Ori, Gears and Forza Horizon.

I think MS has to make Indiana Jones, and other blockbuster budget games multiplatform. I can understand why they would keep it exclusive for a 6-12 months (to provide value to xbox owners), but I imagine it would sell well on PS5/Switch 2 (if it doesn't suck).

MS should figure out a way to provide a box that provides unique OS features like the Steam Deck. Features like "in OS" frame limiter or custom resolution scaler. Allow custom shaders in the spirit of Reshade, with the ability to download user created profiles.

The idea that PS and MS put out a box that basically does the same things, with a similar performance envelope is BORING. MS has got to figure out a way to shake things up.
