Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

i guess i'm not as weak as i thought. skipping velocity ulltra.

so close to the platinum in hotline miami. only a few trophies to go. the game is just instant badass fun. i can't wait for hotline miami 2.

I saw Carl's review for farming sim, and as much as i was stunned to hear he sounds like a 12 year old boy i couldnt really tell if he seriously liked it or if he was being sarcastic haha

I'm on vita and gt6 looks perfect.

This.

The journey one was ok too

We should have higher standards...
Look at whats possible on Vita!

Me too! On all counts!

It was cheap right? I bought it at 15 and enjoyed, my only gripe is that it takes a lot of space. It's not perfect but fun enough in bursts.

My only gripe so far is that I want the DLC, but that wasn't part of the sale. :\

I just emailed rockstar about bringing GTA to vita in some form whether its HD ports of the ps2 games or gtav stories or even a new one, i know they won't bother to answer it, but it couldn't harm to know at least one person took the time to mouth off to them about it

From reading their q&a on gta5 i found they had left a address to contact them to answer any questions, in what they call mouthoff to rockstar

The address is

mouthoff@rockstargames.com

Should someone other than myself want to email them too

I'd be happier if Sony enticed them with $ to do a new Bully game. College Years or Military Academy could work, but a new antagonist at the same school (no need to make it exactly the same... just give a sense of transcendent school history and self-referential continuity) going through their own life lessons, study sessions and hard knocks. The crux would be on how good this character and the other student chars are.

It's not an intensely action oriented game, so there shouldn't be any worries about cramming a shoulder, 3rd person shooter button interface onto the Vita's layout.

I feel like a wide variety of classes, alone, would be great opportunity to take advantage of the touch screen and gyroscope/accelerometer in a good way. Need more hoity toity private school courses, too... archery, art class (scultupure/drawing on touch screen = sick) etc

More sim life hotspots, better skateboarding and BMX'ing, more kart racing, more arcade games, more neighborhood jobs, and kids are decent at climbing... so graffiti mischief + touch = win, and the world wouldn't have to be so much immense as it is vertical and ripe with exploration.

Sounds good too might drop that off at mouthoff@rockstargames.com too

Just came to post that the jaguar dude in Guacamelee is a total C
atnipper

I really hate this joker.

I'm a bit rusty at the moment, and my last save file was on hard, so it was a nice wake up call earlier. Currently there's a room beyond him which puts two damned wizards on EACH plane. What a nightmare.

wowwww - did you all see this thread about Chaos Rings and Tokyo Jungle????

"Apparently it's in this week's Famitsu, I believe. 800 Yen. Optimized for Vita.
Also Tokyo Jungle for PSM. "

gasp! I hope for Tokyo Jungle is cross buy. Bought it on ps3 and enjoyed it but never put enough time into it. Seems like a perfect portable game!

Wait, Chaos Rings optimized for Vita?! You have a link please? The game is great. It would be awesome to have it on Vita. Please SE, don't play with me...

Also, speaking of SE iOS games on Vita, it would be great if they bring over the new version of FFT with upgraded graphics to Vita as well. Nothing wrong with the PSP version, but having it on Vita in native res would be amazing, and since the assets are already there...

It's awesome via remote play. Cross buy would be unreal, it would have a permanent home on my Vita and I'd actually finish the story and work on unlocking all the stuff.

Tokyo Jungle for PSM? Why PSM? Why not native Vita? That seems weird.
Is Chaos Rings that iOS Square title? I think someone told me it was repetitive... :|

so it's harvest moon without the BS?

But it's the "BS" that makes Harvest Moon especially charming.

I don't know why are you guys seem so enamored with this farming simulator. I dunno, from what I've seen it seems like it offers nothing especially special or enticing. But maybe that's just me.

it seems unlikely tokyo jungle would come out on psm considering all the comments about its poor performance especially with 3d

edit: unless it's not a port but some kind of spinoff

I have not seen them, but someone said screenshots showed that it was a top down game, so likely not the psn release. Other PSM games have gotten native vita versions though, so its possible TJ could still come to Vita......I hope.

Psm is seeing some really good releases now. Xcited for Tokyo jungle. Loved Cyrus lambda last week (it is free! Try it!).

As soon as I bitched about him I beat his ass.

Now I'm on the final boss and I'm just about to snap my Vita up, and set it on fire after pouring gasoline on it.

I'm probably going to beat it, delete it and never look back...

yeah, I would say it could be argued that Cytus ( for the price) is atleast equal to DJMax, if not better.

As a side question I was curious if anyone else would be happy if the Ico/Shadow collection, and FFXIIHD were announced for the Vita. I know FFXII is not confirmed yet, but it would be pretty awesome to have every mainline FF outside of the MMOs, and XIII on Vita.

SE may not be willing to bother with a Vita port this time though since we arent getting Kingdom Hearts HD on vita.

So, 2 interesting releases coming to PSM... I can deal with that.

I find it easier to deal with the lack of trophies and leaderboards on PSM, than I do with older PS3 games.

I enjoyed PSM for it's early releases like Aqua Kitty, but since Yu-Nama: The Puzzle, I've been enjoying it just as much, if not more, than any Vita releases.

Mononoke Slashdown has become my go-to game to pull off some fun stylish combos (easier to get in and out of than Muramasa), Cytus Lambda really is making it hard for me to want to buy any of the PSN sales this week (I have less Rhythm games than any of those other things on PS3, y'know?), and things like Sea Run and Rysymaswhatever also have been calling for my attention.

I really like having this option of potentially really cheap, yet enjoyable portable games. I guess if you've played these all on phones and tablets, this is much less exciting, but for one who keeps to gaming on platforms with buttons, it's nice to get to play a lot of these titles.

I think I would just buy Harvest Moon Back to Nature if I need a farming fix. I may just do that once I clear some of these ps+ games.

i wish psm games were just vita games(leaderboards and trophies) that also happen to be available on android devices. i'm just worried we'll get full on vita versions later on.

that said i really want to see what this tokyo jungle looks/plays like.

Final boss is actually easy once you get the pattern down.
On hard, I could take 3 hits max... took me a bit to remember the timing, but it's really predictable and easy, especially the FINAL final boss.

I'd buy Cytus for $12 in a heartbeat (provided I liked the music) if it had trophies. :\
I don't think I'd care about FFXII, as I don't really care about FFX. PS2 FF games are not my jam. Though XII > X.
I think I'd play through X and X-2 again before I ever touched a KH game again though. ;)

SE recently came out and said that they lost all the assets to the first game meaning they had to do everything from scratch for the HD collection. So IF Kingdom Hearts HD port were to come to Vita it would definitely be after the HD collection was released on PS3.

I thought PSM games will be getting trophy support soon?

Started playing P3P tonight; got a quick question: What's the canon name for the main character supposed to be?

Yeah, after months of seemingly only releases from Thomas Hopper (ugh), PSM is actually starting to look like what I hoped it would be.

Those would be awesome. In fact, I have hopes the ICO collection will come over as native since the GoW collection is already on the way. I loved playing SotC via remote play, but it would definitely be better as a native game.

As for FFXII HD, that would be just glorious. Thankfully, SE has said that it is the next on their list for porting depending on how FFX/X-2 does. Of course, I assume that if the game does decent numbers on Vita they would port it there as well.

I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to care about PSM until the PSN leaderboards and trophies are implemented (if ever).

That's fair. My main issue is with the lack of advanced modern graphic APIs, even like those seen on Android and iOS. It's very behind the times, feeling more like a 2009 service. I don't care so much about trophies, but proper PSN integration and leaderboards would be great. I still have hope for the service, whereas a couple of months back I had absolutely zero, so we are getting somewhere.
