Back to check in this mornin' :)

I guess those of us that took the Ebay route will have to wait a few days??

I'm still the high bidder on my item and will most likely stay that way...but I actually want to buy the item for my wife so it works out perfect :)

Now I just need to set up my referals.

Glad to see more people joining, and some tolerance from the mods to let us hang our own necks :D

I would assume you're on your own. If you step out of the chain then you can't help anyone here above you you can only be the top of a seperate chain. Just find some IRL people to finish it off for you.

I'm like 4th in line. I have another email address and address to use and could put the name under my girlfriends if that would work still for you mason so i don't screw up the line.

If you have a different email and street address, as long as you use a different computer, I suppose that would work. If you're not able to use another computer not in your network, though, it would be easier to just take you out of this line. It's not that big of a deal.

btw...I agree with whoever said that people should do one or the other here. If people do both they eat up a lot of referrals. So if we stick with one, then do the other on our own, it's fair. Otherwise the people in the top 5-6 spots will use up everyone we have signed up already.

For the record, I am willing to do this again after I complete mine to help out others. I'll complete another offer then just not bother with referrals or get em on my own some other time...that should help people here I think.

Come to think of it, that would help a lot if lots of us did that....then you get one item from GAF, and help someone else get one item.

That does sound like a good idea, but we've already started this way. I guess as soon as the people who we're waiting on sign up, I can make the people under them who want both to choose one or the other. That's not completely fair, but it's the only way we can do it now.

I'm going to work, and I will be back about 9 hours from now. Since nothing is going on at the moment, this shouldn't be a problem. We're waiting on the people who have been sent the links to sign up with them. Hopefully when I get back we'll have made some progress on this front.

if you go the ebay route..do you have to use the same e-mail address as your account on freeipods? I don't see how freeipods are going to know if you completed the ebay offer..I did mine last night and it says I haven't done it yet. I used a different email account for ebay.

From what I read, it doesn't have to be the same email as when you followed the EBay link through them they undoubtedly got the correct info anyway.

Plus there are ways to "prove" it if you should not get credit for a few days.

No, you don't have to use the same email, and they don't do verifications over the weekend, so you'll have to wait until Mon or Tues next week.

ok, so what if I've got two PCs in the same household on Dialup? Can I use both of them?

I would imagine this would work.

Actually, I might be in a good position. I can sign up for it from this house, and we're moving and losing our cable connection in a few weeks. I can probably sign up here, and then use both PCs at the new house on dial-up as two referrals.

Does this sound plausable?

Is there a reason we wait for people who signed up under the referral to complete an offer before we move the list? They have to complete the offer anyway to get their ipod (thus they won't hold up the person they signed up under) and if I'm not mistaken, it'll streamline this process alot (we wouldn't have one person at the top of the list for 3 days while waiting for eBay to validate).

and don't forget that you can get your family and friends to sign up, too!

Why do we have to wait until it's confirmed that the referred person's order is complete? Why can't we advance to the next person on the list once the guy at the front of the line gets 5 referrals?

I didn't know we were waiting until the offer was confirmed, I thought it was just until everybody was confirmed to have signed up. I could be wrong, of course.

We just started this last night. A few people in the thread have gotten stuff from other offers by the same company, though.

Basically, because if someone doesn't complete their referral, or doesn't get credit for it, or doesn't do it right, or whatever, then the person they were completing the offer for gets screwed over.

But that's irrelevant anyway since all the people with the links haven't even created accounts yet.

EDIT: I'm going out for the night. I'll be back in a few hours and will be able to devote a good portion of tomorrow to this. It is especially important for the people with flatscreen links to sign up and complete an offer, since it takes 8 referrals for the flatscreen (as opposed to 5 for the iPod) and less people are signed up for it. I anticipate moving on to the next person in the iPod line tomorrow morning, but not the flatscreen.

Seriously. I've already finished thie iPod deal by having a bunch of Co-Workers sign up for AOL, but when I did Ebay for FreeVideoGames.com, I bid on a newly listed Ms. Pacman arcade machine for $10.00.

Well it was my mistake, I guess... I bid on a Vectrex ($15) but I didn't notice this one didn't come with games or a controller.

Feel sorry for the guy because I'm probably not gonna pay if I win :).

I hate it when people back out of deals because they didn't read :(

At least email the guy and say that you've changed your mind and why....don't wait until it's over.
