I'm so awful at CTF on archipelago, which is my favourite map otherwise. I'm just always half doing stuff and not accomplishing much.

Our one win in Ruined Capitol was nice though. :D We earned that one, when I saw I had been switched to Eucadia against you guys I was pretty sure it was going to end in tears but that hard-fought 1-0 win was sweet. I did have a good laugh when PlayerBeyond started mining our mine spawns, then throwing them around our base. :lol I didn't even shoot the last half when we were clinging to that lead, I just flew back and forth to the mines.

The next round, the one in archipelago, was painful though. I felt we were lucky to only lose 0-1, we lucked out on a few wild flag rescues. One thing I absolutely love about Warhawk is just how freaking INSANE it can get at times. Especially in larger CTF maps, the chaos and shit going down around the flags can just be numbing. Camera shaking, a dozen guys running all over, everything blurred from the explosions, 'hawks hovering focused only on ground attack and ignoring incoming missiles knowing they'll die in 3 seconds but not stopping, guys just spawning and running up to chuck both nades then going to pistols/knifes in sheer desperation... god it's fun. :D

That Archipelago map was MINE! I was holding the center point with my tank and demolishing anyone who came close! It was great! :lol Ruined Capitol is soo hard to take the flag. That thing is so well defended you always killed me when I went for it.

From the kills I that I got with it, they were just body shots I believe. All 1 hit deaths. Really scary to go up against :eek:

Indeed. Odd there is only one entrance to the flag room in that map but maybe I've found another way in. I've still to try it but if someone stands over a hovering Warhawk, he might get lifted to the upper floor, right in front of the flag!

Also very hard to hit when they're running and jumping and getting into a Jeep or Warhawk I don't think you'd get any snipe kills at all if it was more than one hit. :O

We did managed to come back and win, but the next match was Archipelago. I say, "Let's get all three center zones up to level 3 quick." I get in a warhawk with someone, he flies to the closest base instead. Everyone else just putters along, and of course the enemy gets a really strong foothold in the center. We lose badly.

Next game was Eucadia. I emphasize that we need to take the center zones first. Some guy argues with me, saying that if the zones aren't linked, they're useless. I try to explain that if you have the center zones up to 3, their nearby ones can only grow to 1, making for both an easier defense and attack, but he just calls me a dumbass. They own us again.

Then the server shut down, thank goodness.

Zones really requires teamwork, and if there's even a little imbalance in clue, it becomes a landslide.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot the best part, when I asked everyone to jump in warhawks to get to the bases as fast as possible, I got some people saying stuff along the lines of, "I'm no good in a warhawk, I need a tank." YOU CAN GET A TANK AFTER YOU FLY TO THE BASE YOU'RE AFTER. Good grief, if people are so allergic to the aircraft that they won't even use them for transport, why aren't they playing a different game that's 100% ground pounding?

I know what you mean. I stopped playing zones with random people and stick to CTF and Death Match.

I just got done playing ctf where I was the only one making shit happen. Capturing the flag defending etc. I defended the badlands all by myself (kill after kill after kill) killing wave after wave of enemies. Once 3 of them showed up in a 4X4 and I took them out with just grenades and my AK. I didn't mind pulling shit out of my hat to defend the base just that none of my other team mates even got close to capturing the other teams flag.

It wasn't untill I loaded up on ammo, jetted over and crash landed the enemy base and blasted almost everyone to hell did we manage to get the flag out of the base and down the street (I ran out of health after taking about 7 guys, 2 warhawks, a 4X4 and a Tank with me). After that they were able to take it from there and we scored.


now my stats are reset. *sigh*

We need to organise some gaf meets or something. Lots more fun.

yeah, 31/32 usually doesnt work, but then again there are several thousand players competing for those spots... I almost always get into servers with 29 or less so this issue is probably fixed now...

Just finished playing for the night. I have yet to see more than one person from GAFn playing. I have played almost every night. My stats reset in the middle of my playing tonight, awesome recruit again. I bet nothing i did got recorded tonight either. You would think with all the beta testing something like a stat server would work. They better get their shit together or there isnt going to be anyone around to buy downloadable content.

They are clearly working (hard) on it. That's why stats go "on and off" recently. I'm Recruit again as well, but I'm not worried about it. The server list fix was huge as far as I'm concerned. So happy about that.

I thought so too, until I failed repeatedly tonight to get into a match thad 25/32 players. On the plus side, I got my rank back, and then a promotion. Had a lot of fun playing Zones; before that it was CTF where we always tied, 0-0, as the other just played all-out defense. Very weird.

I am just frustrated tonight :lol I played in beta and had less issues. I was still getting the server full error tonight on games that were 26/32. Seemed like it was off and on working. I also got TKed about 15 times in two games which always puts you in a foul mood.

Refreshing individual servers seems to work, but I'm still getting a ton of Game Full errors regardless if there's 4 or 5 slots reported open. I have my PS3 in DMZ so if it's something on my end I can't think of it.

BTW, am I the only one that cannot stand the official forum? Man it's like kids are on the loose there. It's like they make a new thread about stats not updating THE VERY MOMENT they get an error. By the time I've read the title, everything is back to normal again. I'd like to cluster bomb that forum.

Has there been any news as to why the game freezes so much for some people post-match? My PS3 connection is fine (NAT 2) and other online games work very well. Without fail, Warhawk will lock up on me on the post-match screen between games, forcing me to reboot. Frustrating because the game itself is so enjoyable...was wondering if anyone had any luck fixing this problem. I've looked around and I haven't really found any solutions.

For the record, I've tried playing with my headset both on and off, and have reinstalled the game once. Didn't have any noticeable affect on the frequency of the freezing.

Nope, youre not the only one. Those forums are actually what drove me here. :D I'd been poking around on the PS boards for years, the whole time realizing that is just full of a bunch of mindless little punks...much better here.

its been happening everygame, its sucks because i am finally getting good with the sniper.

Hey Oni and Calder, where were you playing? I didn't see any GAF servers up, so I got into some SCEA servers. Finally found a team worth fighting with, and we kicked some ass for a while. Saw dark10x in my gunsight a few times too. :p

I haven't seen any GAF servers for the past couple days, and to be fair, I've been slacking in that department too. So I'm setting up GAF_EST(#1)-CTF/ZNS overnight, and I'll try to keep doing it from now on.

Another great moment, I was in a jeep with the flag in Eucadia rounding one of the final turns to get up to our bridge, and I see an enemy tank come down the hill right in front of me. I waited for the inevitable shot, but then my warhawk escort came boosting in at full speed and flipped the tank over and I zipped right by safely. Awesome. :D

Oh, and one more thing, in a game of zones, we had the whole level locked down, so I just started flying around and killing anyone who got in a warhawk. Apparently someone got pissed enough to try sneaking into our base, but he didn't try to reduce it, he just went around destroying warhawks on the ground. XD

Edit: Ok, server's up.

I know your sentiments buddy has happened to me soooooo many freaking times and the worst this about it too is that I was playing with another clan which made it even worse.

Well, some non-beta people are finally discovering that they can kill to get the points.

I had the flag and was around 10m away from our home flag, and one of my teammates knifed me to kill me. So he grabs the flag and before he could return it, our was stolen and they drive away. So for 15 minutes, we hold the flag at our base (well, it was just me as this guy got killed a few times and gave up), and our flag NEVER came back. So instead of a win we tied 0-0.

I think that team-kills via knifing should be heavily penalized, as it's not something you could do by accident.

The TK that goes on in some of the freaking Ranked server believe it or not is still stupid, you would think that after begin penalized for killing a team mate you would stop but noooooooooooo they @#$%@#$@# don't.

The way it should work is that after 1 TK it should start a multiplier so 2 TK = -2 3 TK = -4
4 TK = -6 and so forth and once you get to -20 which should be 10 TK you should be baned from the freaking server or suspend at the very least.

Doesn't killing your flag carrier make you lose something like 32 points instantly? Surely returning the flag after doing that can't make up for it.

hahaha... yes, it is extremly annoying to the point of me only going there to quickly check if dylan has posted anything new and thats it... reading other posts makes no sense at all.

TK of the FK is HP... :D

I lost at least 20 points (probably more) when I accidentally killed flag carrier while trying to kill his entourage (5 other team players trying to kill him)...

So yes, it is heavily penalized.

Yes :(

It happened to me when I escorted the flag carrier to base an enemy was chasing us and we ran right into a mine I placed, thanks to the enemy triggering it, it blew us up took a huge point hit.

Just logout, quit the game, restart the game, and go back to your profile. Then, go back another screen and it'll say you've increased your rank back to whatever rank you were previously at. You might have the whole thing a few times.
