Dunno. In most of the games I joined, either people were barely speaking, either they were shouting random crap/racist stuff/unrelated gibberish. Not to mention that sound quality can also be terrible :/
Having nice team communication has been very rare, at least for me.
That said, I haven't played much CTF or Zones lately (mainly because of this communication issue, and also because of TKer's and people that do nothing to help), mostly TDM dogfights, so maybe it has improved a bit.

The freinds list doesn't update, if I were to jump into a game that Raist is supposedly in, only to find he's not there because the freinds list didn't update itself, oddly the Clan list doesn't suffer this... problem.
No party system so we can't even play as a clan (manually switch teams till we're all on one side is the closest we'll ever get).
But when you eventually do get a game with some Gaf members it's worth all the heartache.

For CTF/Zone play its a f'n mess sometimes. You have idiots that just want to kill everyone, even on their own team. No strategy being used at all, run & gun tactics, little to no communication between teammates at all. This is why the clan & party system is so usefull, playing with people you know & coordinating team strategy is the way to play these CTF/Zone games.
When the game launched the mics were kinda static filled garbled noise, now they seem pretty clear to me. I have had very good communication both in-game & in the lobby.

. They are fixing issues that did hamper it for first few weeks (stats are fixed, so should be servers).I was big in Q3A,. RTCW, BF1942 and this trumps them all for fun and variety of experience....
p.s. I dont know how it doesnt happen to TTP (all the hours he puts in), but I was driving my Rav4 today and avoided several mines on the road to home :lol

I actually thought that was a feature & it does come in handy. If you leave a game to check up on the clan (see who's on, what matches there in) but you don't want in on there game you can rejoin the game you were in before without searching it on the servers list. I use this feature all the time!

Does anyone have a grasp of the ranking system and the requirements to rank up? From first glance it would seem like when you go to "Rank Advancement" and check the different ranks that each rank has a point requirement and a badge or skill requirement in order to achieve that rank. However, I've leveled up to ranks with point requirements that I haven't reached yet. Is the requirement to rank up either the points OR the badge and not both? Is the system still broken and it should be both but it's just not working correctly yet? What say you?
anybody have cool tips/fun stuff to do apart from the norm? sometimes i like playing just to roam around the map and kill random people instead of being so objective based. that said, this little tip actually nets you more points while denying points to the other team.
in archipelago in CTF, go for a capture and after you have the flag, instead of trying to run back to your base, throw it over the edge by pressing triangle. if you throw it over it'll respawn back where you picked it up, and you can run back and grab it again. since the edge is pretty close to the flag, you can do this about three times before getting killed (15 pts), and if done right you can deny the flag guards those 10 points they hang around for.

Saving the flag a good five/six times can easily net 75-80+ pts depending on how many people you kill in the process.

In general, I'd agree. The average level of jackassery is much higher in XBL (or was at least when I played COD 2 and 3 a lot) and the upper limit of pure dipshit is also a bit higher. But PSN has more than enough complete tools too, and I'm afraid most of the difference probably has more to do with size of userbase and lack of standard voice chat more than anything. Which means I doubt the hey-this-could-be-a lot-worse online experience will last.dionysus said:

This gets you one point, and as for your dozen teammates who are all hanging aimlessly around your base waiting for the easy 10 points, they get nothing.

Another Fun Thing To Do:
If a nearby spawn point/zone belongs to the other team, take it. If the enemy is heading for a nearby zone/spawn point with the clear intention of taking it, stop them. If one of your teammates gets the flag, escort him and kill pursuers. If the pursuit kills him, jump in and grab the flag before they can return it. If you're near your home base and an enemy picks up the flag, kill the carrier and return the flag. If you're near the enemy base, hit it with eveything you've got, grab the flag and run for home. If you're at a spawn point with no vehicles available and there's a sniper rifle or binoculars, snipe until you get a vehicle. If you're flying and you see an enemy grab the TOW missile/cluster bomb, hunt them down and kill them. If you're flying and you see a teammate grab the TOW missle, escort them. Use every weapon and every vehicle depending on the situation. Look at the map constantly. Warn your teammates about incoming jeeps/tanks/warhawks/guys with knives. Go to where things need to be done, and go quickly. Don't worry about dying a lot.
I do this one all the time, and it nets me over a hundred points a game. There's a lot of bonus points to be had in ribbons that are awarded for doing a wide variety of actions that benefit your team. Pretty scummy, I know.

Hmm, my points in my profile are listed as over 9000, and I have the bandit 4x4 badge under awards, but I still haven't been promoted to wing leader. I remember in one game my rank by my health showed one more bar than wingman, but I never got a promotion message. The next game it went back down to wingman and has stayed that way.
Things are at least getting somewhat better, my stats seem to be updating, but sometimes it seems I'm not getting all the points it lists I've received at the end of a match.

That's pretty much how I try to approach each game.
And yeah, it can be pretty frustrating winding up on a crappy team when some of these pretty obvious tactics get ignored completely. My "favorite" is during a bad CTF game when the opposition winds up with every spawn point on the map and you end up playing wack-a-mole trying to keep the suckers off the door step. Meanwhile as you're pleading for help to cap and defend some spawns near your base, half your team is by the flag watching it get ripped over and over again. Love that.

Phew, I freaked out and thought the thread got black holed!
That being said, because of the clan glitch, I haven't been able to play lots of games with GAFers. It'd be cool if some of you guys could add me on PSN and message me if your on to catch a quick game!
