Go ahead and sign up for both Gamebattles and Consolegaming.eu, we'll stay on both clan ladders. And most of that personal info shit on GB can be ignored, I didn't fill in most of it. Once you've signed up, post your handle(s) and then we can send you an invite to the team. Accept the invite and you're on the roster.

Gotten a number of responses that didn't provide enough info, either availability times or email addresses. If you really don't want to give out an email address for privacy reasons, that's cool, but say so so we don't think you just forgot. The email addresses will NOT be posted on the forum. If you don't give us an email address, you'll have to monitor the thread to keep abreast of clan meetups.

When I've gotten some more responses, I'll post a list of what we've got (again, NOT the email addresses), and what info people still need to provide. Hopefully by the weekend we should have a good starting list fleshed out.

Warhawk Paint & Insignia Contest!

It’s 2008 and the team and I would love to kick-off the New Year by extending a really cool contest to our eligible U.S. players! This is your chance to make your mark on the battlefield by entering the Paint Scheme and Insignia Contest!!

As many of you know, we’re always working on game updates to keep the stream of fixes and new features flowing to our players. As such, we’re currently working on the Warhawk 1.3 patch which will include a collection of new, Player-Created insignias and paint schemes for you all to use when you customize your troops and aircraft.

The team and I will be judging all the submissions and selecting the winners — 50 new insignias and 20 new paint schemes. Winners will not only get their stuff in the game, but will also win a limited edition Warhawk statue from Gentle Giant Studios.

Now of course there are some ground rules…there are always rules

This is common sense but just in case…don’t use other logos or previously created content or imagery. That means you WILL NOT be able to fly around with a official sports logo on your Warhawk or have the face of some hamburger salesman on your soldier’s helmet!! – As cool as that may be. Well…it would be cool for me as I’m big fan of Chicken Nuggets.

No questionable content either please. I’m not going to describe various examples of questionable content…you all know what I’m talking about

So for insignias…Here’s what you need to know:

* The new insignia must be black and white.
* White is opaque, and Black is fully transparent.
* The ideal insignia uses only white, black and 50% gray.
* The new insignia must be 64×64 pixels.
* No words or text. The insignia must be graphic.
* The insignia must be submitted in BMP, TGA or PNG file formats.
* Do NOT submit your insignia in JPEG file format!

That’s the set of guidelines for the creation of insignias and some examples.

Now let’s talk paint schemes.
Once you’ve downloaded the template, you can apply your paint scheme much like using a coloring book. Although, if your submission has the quality of a 3-year-old’s rendering of Dora the Explorer…well, then you are immediately disqualified!!!

Note that you don’t have to be a PhotoShop expert to submit a paint scheme, Keep in mind that not all paint programs may work.

Here are some other guidelines and steps that you should be aware of:

* Go to the official site and make sure you read all the rules!!!
* Use a paint program on your PC or MAC to fill in your design in like a paint-by-numbers … but without the numbers.
* Avoid tiny details!
* The best paint schemes feature clear and bold graphic lines and forms.
* Again…DO NOT use logos or other previously created content.
* The paint scheme template can be submitted in JPEG format.

Ok, now for the critical info…pay attention!!

Please send your submissions to playstation_community_support@playstation.sony.com
Make sure that the subject line reads “Warhawk Insignia” or “Warhawk Paint” depending on what you are submitting. And yes, you can make more than 1 submission. Please also include, in the body of your email, your full name, Telephone Number, and PSN handle.

Lastly, the deadline…
The submission deadline is February 15th, 2008 at 11:59pm PST!

If we're going to do this right, we're going to need to come up with some sort of Roster with substitutes, because let's face it we EASILY filled a 12 v 12 person server and there were still people who missed out in our clan.

Especially if we're going to do one of these official Ladder matches, you have to be signed up and in the roster 24 hours prior to the match, the site has a 32 person limit which is dumb given the max clan limit size. >_<

There's a fearless gamers clan that has had a 20 game unbeaten run... yummy. :D

Is it just me or is Sony starting to totally ignore users that don't buy the expansion pack?

There is only 1 server without the expansion pack that has a decent amount of people and surprise surprise everyone one the server is lagging like MAD. 400+ms

This is becoming the worst purchase on PSN I made so far... I got it for the splitscreen MP and there are no servers that support it and now I can't even play properly.

Ugh...

Change your filter... I hardly play on servers that have the drop ship even though I downloaded the expansion.. i always find my self in non-dropship games..

This seems like PEBKAC to me.... just look alittle harder..

There are plenty of servers that dont have the dropship or omega factory...

In the US maybe, I have my filter set to EU servers only cause i'll probably lag on US servers, and right now there are only 2 servers with people that I can join, 1 of them has like 5 ppl lol, the other one is lagging like mad.

I guess you could have more problems on that side of the pond.. But I suggest you check out the US servers... if the ping is lower then why not right?

For example... I join euro servers all the time and have little to no issues most of the time..

seriously.. it's worth a try right?

Yeah. Also this game appears to have good enough netcode for over seas play.

I'll try it next time I bother clicking the Warhawk icon :p

Is this game out in Japan?

I ended up playing on a server where everybody was speaking Japanese last night, had Japanese names, and the teams and vehicles looked like a box of Fruity Pebbles.

Hard to apologize for TK when all you know is "GOMEN! GOMEN! GOMEN! GOMEN NASAI!" and aren't even certain if that's correct. :lol

Oh yeah, the game's been out there for a long time. There's some very good Japanese players too. They also seem to like map/game combinations that you don't often see elsewhere.

When you're looking at a server in the server list, you can scroll the info panel on the right with the right analog stick, and the region the server is in is listed there.

that was honestly one of the best games of warhawk i had in a long time. it was a nice change of pace to play ctf in the abandoned city with 32 other players on the smallest map settings.

even though i couldn't understand a damn word they were saying, i liked the fact that a majority of the team was using their mics. was kind of strange hearing my name being being muttered though. their tone seemed to suggest that they were laughing at me :(

too bad i had a ping of 300, making it next to impossible to dog fight.

Yeah. The Japanese players were really playing well and communicating, although one of them was horsing around with porno dialogue. Don't ask how I know, but it's recognizable. And as usual it sounded like a little kid doing it. :p

Yeah, every so often I'd hear "Macky!" where I assumed they were messaging me. And every so often the generic Terry Bogard English - "OKAY!" :p

Oh, and I ended up getting a clan invite from one of the J-Hawkers. :D :D :D

Hey Sea_Manky, I'm also available anytime on the weekends, and can volunteer for the clan match this week. I'm really rusty though as I haven't really played that much in the past 2 weeks. 4vs4 seems really small, so you guys better win.
