I just saw a clip on Sportscenter where he was talking about him wanting a new deal, and from the looks of it there was tears streaming down his eyes while he was talking about taking care of his family and this whole thing being "just business" :lol

CNBC tonight I think, 10pm EST

And Drew Rosenhaus running damage control when Dan Patrick grilled him was a pretty good segment as well on sportscenter.

Yeah that's true - the ESPN clip only showed him in tears talking about people not understanding what went on behind the scenes and so forth. Maybe it's ESPN trying to bury him or dig up some more drama.

Eh, I don't see why folks are getting on TO. NFL deals are not guaranteed and the team could rip up the contract right now and send him packing for no reason. If he can re-structure it so it's front-loaded or even get more cash, more power to him :lol

the eagles went to a lot of trouble to get T.O.

they sent draft picks/players to the 49ers and ravens when they weren't required to. THEN, instead of making T.O. play under an "unprofitable" deal (the one he was still under with the 49ers), they give him a new, better one. now he is crying about this

i understand that NFL teams can cut a player whenever they want, but that's the business. you think you can go make more money doing something else? then stfu, retire and go do it. these players aren't a slave to anyone. if they had actually taken advantage of the incredible opportunities afforded to them (free athletic scholarship to some of the best schools in america) and took the time to LEARN something instead of prepping for the nfl then they would have some options in life.

but nope. they take the minimum amount of courses, bs their way to get minimum gpa, and leave school early without graduating. this isn't all players, but my point is this:

if someone gave me $5 million right now, today, i would be set for life. there is no way i would squander that money and i would be content at that point. T.O. and many other players who whine about contracts have made a lot more than that over the past few years, so i feel no sorrow for them. yes NFL teams can cut you whenever they want, but that is the profession you chose to enter

on the one hand, TO is one of the smartest players in all of pro sports when it comes to money. Like it or not, the guy is a marketing genius in terms of sports, and if he went to law school he could buy Drew Rosenhause's family.

that said, don't forget that this comes less than 24 hours after he also slammed Donovan F. McNabb, saying, "Hey man, I wasn't the one who got tired in the Superbowl!" So yeah... bye bye TO. Now what'd be funny is if they shipped him to Baltimore and he 'got' to play with Ray Lewis now. The rumors of trade are out there because they could trade him for a top 5 pick and try to land Braylon Edwards or another receiver, maybe a Mike Williams.

I dont think the Eagles will budge. They will trade him before they renegotiate. It would suck to lose such a great player but we were on the brink of winning the superbowl without him. If all those panthers players werent a bunch of roided up, cheap shotting bastards things might have been alot different. :)
