Watch Dogs has gone gold

My origin account and 280X 2500K powered PC is ready.
I am really looking forward to trying to recreate the 2012 demo. Hopefully the location is in the game, and environmentals will be possible to set up (time of day and weather).

780 GTX here. Really, really, really hoping (naively) it isn't an unoptimized pile...

AC IV was a massive letdown at launch

I've gone back and forth on this game, especially after the re-reveal downgrade. But I've lost faith, preorder officially cancelled, I'll wait till it's cheap.

wait, the game is coming out on the 27th? Of this month? What the fuck.

I've been lurking WD threads but damn I did not pay attention to its release date. Resolution shit, framerate shit, I've read just about everything about this game except its release date lol.

I think I'll be picking this up. Been jumping back into ACIV in the meantime. Though I already finished it, save corruption saw to me losing everything. As it was my first AC game maybe that shielded me from getting burnt out as quickly as I know a lot of others have. Though it still a slow burn compared to the first time. Still want some reviews ASAP.

I had it preordered on steam. Have a 2500k OC and a Titan

Cancelled.

Gonna get it on XB1 for MP.

Gonna "test" SP on my PC using steam family sharing. If it's worthy I may double dip. But for now it's XB1 first.

Edit: clarification, because of all the kneejerk reactions

Congrats to all the ladies and gents that worked on the game. It's no doubt been a long haul for them. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game has come together and, obviously, if it's fun to play.

5 years. Man.

I hope this turns out well for them. GAF has torn this game apart over resolution, graphics, framerate and because its "another souless ubisoft game".

I really want this game to turn out great.

Is this on PC or PS4?

You will not be seeing anything like that, this is from the first reveal at E3 which ran on a decked out PC with dual GPU. Probably configured to show the best while being unoptimized. I haven't seen anything as impressive from the PC version since then.

I'm going to have to figure out just how to overlook my 2500k. I have no idea how. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to this game. Have it preordered.

I actually upgraded because of AC4. I had 560Ti before, and AC4 just ran like shit.

Imagine my surprise, when AC4 ran like shit even on 280X. BUT, I was able to make it run well (50-60fps, mostly 60) by forcing triple buffering via D3D overrider. So it ran at this framerate in 1080p at stuff on high, and the experience was much better than on, say, PS4.
So even unoptimized dogshit port was made good on my PC.
For Watch Dogs, we have no idea since they are using new engine. It might be well optimized, it might not.

Please support Ultrawide res (21:9) on the PC. PLEASE...

I really hope so. Recent AC and Splinter Cells have been 16:9 or bust. I live in hope though as Far Cry 2, which pretty much all of the dev team on that moved over to Watch_Dogs when that shipped and was near perfect Hori+ (needed a few FOV tweaks at launch) and Prince of Persia 2008 was perfect at 2540x1080. Don't know about Far Cry 3, I'll go have a look-see

At least all the drama surrounding it will be done, also I will own it.

Xbox One 20 fps 480p resolution confirmed.
PS4 21 fps 520p resolution confirmed.

:)

i will be picking this up, Been a long wait, That resolution and what not can take a back seat and hopefully we can all discuss the actual gameplay in the future.

Since it's PC, I believe he's referring to BLATANT PIRACY.

I don't agree with people who pirate just because they don't want to pay. However, since companies have decided to blatantly say "fuck you" to the consumer and dispatch with providing demos - especially true for PC - I see no problem with this.
