Watch Dogs has gone gold

It's actually coming out. Man, there have been some true sagas so early in the 8th gen already. When Titanfall go an OT, I couldn't even believe it with all the talk, all the hype, all the cynicism, and it turned out pretty great but a story none the less. Watch dogs however, what a journey. If this game comes out and is generally well received (maybe an 82+ metacritic) that will almost be a miracle. Just seems unreal at this point, This is the first "Fable" of the generation.

Let's play the wait for reviews game. Because all the crap that I've had to sail through with pre release has left my boat very dirty. And I don't know if I'll land in the island until I get some time to smell the surroundings.

Basically needs to be above 80 metacritic for me to get it, but the closer to 90 the more I'll consider getting it early.

This games looks incredible cant wait to play it.
Woah!.Thats "The Division" engine! alias Ubi E3 engine. As soon as E3 finishes it evaporates...

80+ metacritic seems like a given, I'd be very surprised if they didn't reach that.
I'm sure it's a given. But 85 and above? There's a lot of negative views this game has to overcome on consoles. If the game itself is so good it can get an 86 aggregate then sure I'll download it on psn day one.

I thought it was not on steam.....

Yah done goofed
It is on steam. I just cancelled preorder.

I will try it out via steam family sharing.

I am buying it on XB1.

If it is horrible on XB1 and amazing on PC then I may double dip.

Backtrace me all you want.

A lot of hypocrites all up in here.

Surprised they don't have a gone gold trailer.

With a specific pre-order bonus to match!

I feel so ambivalent towards this game. The premise is interesting, but I don't think the gameplay looks at all notable from any of the videos they've shown, and I know it's going to be an amalgamation of all those Ubi open world quirks that I've come to hate.

Congratulations to everyone who worked on the game! I'm sure they are super proud after finishing a 5 year project of this scale. That feeling of achievement is seriuosly one of the best feelings ever!

Looking forward for the Wii U version since it's the version I'll be getting :)

Surprised they don't have a gone gold trailer.

LOL!!

I'll probably get it when I order my graphics card in the next couple of weeks, but I may dip into the PS4 version if I hear good things so that I can try it. Then again, I'll probably still be on my Titanfall kick.

I'm really concerned though. Lost interest in UBI open worlds after AC3 and FC2, despite not minding the core gameplay of the AC series. Watch Dogs looks like more of the same, and I'm concerned that it's going to be a bit of a mess both on a technical and gameplay level. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

I'm pretty sure I'm picking this up. I just hope the side missions and extras outside of the main plot are interesting. What's the point of a sandbox if there is nothing to play with.

Turns out you are playing as Aiden Pearce's ancestor using ancient tech to control a future relative. Naturally there are ancient sections that bring gameplay to a grinding halt.

I sincerely hope this game turns out good. It might not have the amazing next gen graphics we hoped for, although it's still looking good on its own, but the concept seems a honest attempt at creating something new, a fresh take on the usual open world GTA formula.
And honestly the summer period doesn't look so hot on next gen consoles right now so we need more good games...otherwise it will be a long wait until fall...

This game has desaster written all over it, but I am still hoping it will turn out well. Also happy for the devs that it's over, I am sure this was a ridiculous project. Ubisoft needs to re-evaluate their project management and (if this another checkbook AssCreed copy) school of game design.

GAF can test run the game for me first, I'm just not interested unless I hear its a must own from hundreds of you. Ubi haven't sold me on it, perhaps owners of the game will.

I thought the same about Assassin's Creed 1 and that was a close call (81). At least it could meet the expectations about the graphics. Still looks great.

How many building do I have to climb to unlock the map?

How many cell phone chargers do I have to find?

How long will the credits be?

Well, its totally different. You have to hack a ctOS tower, one for each Burrough. Climbing towers are old .. Hacking is phreaking fresh.

You will be looking for dossiers not chargers!

Totally different!

Credits will be long. No change there. But everything else is new and fresh!

One of the biggest titles that went from "hyped as fuck" to "I don't really care" the more footage emerged after its reveal.

Rabble rabble rabble graphics rabble 30 fps rabble. Good to see Ubisoft pushing it through the gates, can't wait to get my hands on some open-world action.

The delay gave me enough time to re-evaluate my hype for this game. Could be another Assassin's Creed. A nice-looking new IP with a lot of fluff but no actual substance or gameplay variety.

I can't shake this feeling that this game is bound to disappoint, and that's really bumming me out.

I actually upgraded because of AC4. I had 560Ti before, and AC4 just ran like shit.

Imagine my surprise, when AC4 ran like shit even on 280X. BUT, I was able to make it run well (50-60fps, mostly 60) by forcing triple buffering via D3D overrider. So it ran at this framerate in 1080p at stuff on high, and the experience was much better than on, say, PS4.
So even unoptimized dogshit port was made good on my PC.
For Watch Dogs, we have no idea since they are using new engine. It might be well optimized, it might not.

IIRC the problem was core utilization on processors. Guys running MSI or whatever while running ACIV would barley get second core utilization, let alone third or fourth on a quad core. I used the d3d trick too but that had more to do with real shitty v sync implementation on Ubis part. Guess we'll see if they make good on games like this and the division when they say made for next gen...
