There are rumors it constantly dips under 30 fps for xbone. Who's to say it doesn't do the same for ps4? I mean rumors are rumors but they're coming from beta testers.

Still not hyped for this game but maybe near the end I will be and end up buying it. Not pre-ordering it though. Doesn't look like it's worth it.
This..I am still buzzing for this game and I cannot wait for mine to turn-up and get involved, all the Downgrade crap has just created such a negative spin on the game I can just put all that aside and enjoy it, just like I did with my 720p BF4 and my 900p BF4, same game, looked great, (lets ignore the broken mess part for now)!
There may be beta testers that enjoyed the game and didn't see such issues but don't want to break the NDA.
Not sure I'd trust the opinion of someone who would violate a signed legal agreement...

The very first time a company's PR ruined a game for me. Preordered it a long time ago, cancelled it some weeks ago, lost all interest in the meantime.
Will perhaps buy it for 10 bucks in the winter sale if reviews are good. I honestly expect mediocre reviews.

But I understand how to keep my personal hype levels under control as from the get go it was obviously going to be Assasin's creed in modern day with hacking.
It looks pretty much like that!
The environment and pure breath of the city looks pretty good so far not sure how the gameplay and story will go but no doubt it will be something worth playing especially as nothing decent has been out for a while now.

Origin had the game for $28 and the deluxe for $30 not too long ago.
I expect that overall people here will not be exactly blown away, but that wont mean there's no enjoyment to be gotten from it.
I've ordered it on PC and I expect to play it to completion. I suspect the gameplay will be rather lacklustre at times. The hacking mechanic seems to be little more than a QTE, which I fear will give little gratification to the player. It's probably why they seem to always show the player blowing up something or causing a pile-up. If the hacking is not gratifying in itself, the result of the hack has to be.
All of which is probably done because they couldn't get an action game, with hacking as a central mechanic, to play well unless the hacking consisted of a button-press. I can't help feeling that the game might be almost identical if the player's character was just psychic; reading NPC's minds and operating machinery with invisible powers.

Does anyone have any experience with Uplay? I got the game via nvidia GPU voucher. Just wondering if there's any chance I'll get to preload or even get it at midnight on release.

I have it preordered and paid off for PS4, but I'm still very skeptical. I'm going to pay close attention to the reviews and if it sucks, I'll swap my preorder for Mario Kart instead.
AC4 unlocked day before release for me so i could download it before official release date. But Uplay doesn't have pre-load option.

Contemplating xbone or PC version. Have a 680 with an i52500k. Would a low setting run better than the xbone?
Strategically its better for them. They'd have to compete with MK on wii U if it launched on all platforms.
They have no other competition this month on the other platforms.
That PC should be capable of much better than 792p/30fps. Though you should be overclocking that CPU by now if you haven't already. Expect to be able to use a mix of medium/high at 1920x1080 40+ fps, is my guess.
Uhm.. joking? A 680 smokes an Xbone. You'll be fine at 1080p/60 FPS medium-ish settings. Or 30+ FPS at higher ones. Either way, much better than an Xbone - or a PS4 for that matter!

I'm still optimistic this will be successful for Ubisoft. Two years constantly in the press hasn't done any favours to the hype cycle of the game, and Ubisoft doesn't have the promotional discipline that Rockstar has to be able to manage that duration effectively. I have to admit I'm a big fan of the digital trips that they've incorporated into the game, cause they just look damn fun. Thank you Blood Dragon.
