Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

So, Operation Eye For An Eye was an unexpected development

Dudes were running a dog fighting ring too? Lowest of the low. I got to set a dog free and have it attack a gang member, very satisfying. I blew the leader up with a grenade dropped from my jumper. But the whole thing was just a very dark turn. It was like the game was trying to be Saints Row 3 and suddenly veered into Saints Row 2.

Just curious

How many of you would say WD2 is your game of the year after putting 10+hrs into it, especially those of you that played a lot of the other biggest games of the year?

How is peformance on the XB1? is it 1080p or lower, solid 30fps, screen tearing? I'm holding out for the PC version but if that has any issues I'll be getting it on Xbox.

Ok, so the on-foot controls in this game are terrible and the driving is terrible just like W1 except weirdly different yet still really bad! This game controls like I'd expect a shovelware PS2-era game. How the heck can Ubisoft, who has a plethora of running around on foot games that work with AC not be able to get the simple act of smooth running around gameplay right for a $$$ budget AAA game?

Otherwise I like the city and the cutscenes, the music is super good and I like the new hacking interface, but game just feels bad moving around which is the same problem I had with W1. I've give it like 5 hours, but might trade it in since I'd imagine the trade in value is still decent in the first couple of weeks.

It's not even close. Good game. Nothing special or unique or that X factor that gets you GotY.

Still Hitman for me.

It's a very fun game and worth your time if you enjoy the genre but it may not even be in my top 10. There are many individual things that are problematic, but the whole package happens to be fun, which is sometimes all you want in a game.

I will say that unlike most AAA games it makes a very serious attempt to present a diverse world with people of different races and orientations and talks openly about racism. I can't off the top of my head think of another game that had a serious depiction of a trans man or woman. It's something that stands out among all the general silliness of the game.

Honestly I'm disappointed in the graphics on the XB1 version, I mean it's passible but it appears to be lower than 1080P and has some screen tearing here and there though not aweful like some games I've played. The game is fun but feels very janky, so far I've always messed up trying to stealth and end up just going in guns a blazing and the AI is stupid as hell. Also the shooting feels bad and also the sound quality all around is horrible, the music and gun sounds especially. I wish I hadn't paid $60 for it to be honest.

Just played some co-op with a buddy and damn it's fun, you can free roam and search for money bags, research points, spotX. Random activities appear while driving around also on top of the co-op missions.

My game of the year so far. And gets me really pumped for wild lands.

15ish hours in, wouldn't break top 10 for me. Seems just ok and kinda struggling to have fun. Main character is cool as is the rest of the gang but the gameplay just isn't fun for me. On foot and driving just feels awful. I am glad they removed those awful missions where you had to guide people along as you jumped through camera's though. I do like the jumper and drone. Ah well.

Nope.

Manages to be a good game, while still being the most disappointing sequel I've played since Splinter Cell Conviction.

Like watchdogs 1 I find the driving much more enjoyable in cockpit mode. Spent 2 hrs today just walking around the city. I hope they continue to add new features , gadgets and vehicles.

I regret unlocking the ability to move vehicles remotely. Now, that's what comes up when I hold LB while driving, instead of something I milked.

I would drive around and hack every car near me, taking money or botnet resources from the drivers.

I'm just glad I can return it. It's not good enough to warrant $90 in my eyes, and just feels dated. Is it a bad game? No, but it's nothing amazing. Thus far at least.

It'd have to get a lot better for me to keep it for that price.

I bought it this way because it's on sale for $50 tomorrow and I wanted to make sure I liked it enough to even spend that.

Driving feels like it's designed by someone who has never driven a car in real life.

If I want to drive off and gradually pull the right trigger the car is not supposed to go from 0 to 100 in 2 seconds. And if I want to brake and gradually pull the left trigger, the car is NOT supposed to come to an instant halt and immediately go in reverse. I find that simply tapping the left trigger once yields better results for braking/stopping.

There is no sense of momentum to the vehicles whatsoever.

It all depends on the vehicle you're driving. Did you ever drive the quad bike? Try halting that one within a second.

I found my perfect car for driving around. It's a muscle car and looks like a Shelby GT.

This game as a similar accessibility and a similar satisfying gameplay like sleeping dogs. I really enjoy it.

There is also nothing better than change the direction of the cars ahead of u.

It's not 1080p. It's either 792p because it basically looks just like the first game or maybe upped to 900p. Lots of shimmering and aliasing.

Solid 30fps? Eh forget it. Not even solid 30fps on base PS4 or Pro. Tearing is also a ✅.

I mean honestly it basically looks and performs identical to the first on Xbox One.

I'm really enjoying this game so far. I actually like doing the typical open world collectible shit in WD2, which I typically ignore in other games.

I think my biggest gripe is the licensed music. Honestly, I was always going to listen to the hip-hop station 90% of the time, but I find their selection of songs to be not great. I love the inclusion of the oldschool joints by Eric B and Rakim, DJ Quik, and Naughty By Nature, plus that Dizzee Rascal track is hot. Everything else though I could do without. I would prefer a different Outkast track tbh

Is the game progression stat on the Uplay Website only counting story or overall progression?

last story mission I did was the one where you had to infiltrate PrimeEight's bunker

It's 900P on XB1 and barely ever drops FPS and when it does it's 1-2fps for a second or two.

Base PS4 on the other hand is essentially locked 30FPS. I don't know what made you think it's not even a solid 30fps on base ps4. Plus the first game was one of the most stable open world games out there back when it was launched performance wise.

Quick question. I'm really early on, only done the tut and stuff. I chose to unlock the distraction grenades as my perk. I can only nick bikes and convertibles without triggering alarms. Is this a perk as well? I looked at the vehicle specialisation but this was just to set cars off in a path to run people over.

I'm used to just getting in with GTA, do you guys just dial a car?

The guns are next to useless in the game. The game heavily encourages stealth it's not worth buying a bunch of them. I would say find a gun based on how you like to play these type of games and just stick with that. I have the silenced assault rifle and i rarely ever use it.

The skins suck because you can't really preview it before you buy it. I've bought like 4 skins for my drone that turned out to be trash because i couldn't actually figure out how it would look on the drone

I'm ok with the clothes. I just wish there was a way to save outfits and arrange all the clothes you own by type rather than the store you bought them from.

The drone is pretty pricey but if your the type to do side missions and explore often, the money eventually builds up. Large money bags on the map next you atleast 18k a pop Plus theres a perk that lets you see people with large sums of money on them for you to hack.
I know all that.
I've finished the game, and I never bought a single gun. Even doimg side missions didn't really net much, plus the perk that marks people with money only nets about $400-600 each. Money bags usually give out 2-4k...I haven't seen any 18k bags yet.

It's a second tire skill on that branch ;)

How is that even possible? They're everywhere. There are two money icons on the map, one is bigger than the other. The big icons are usually around 18,000, the small icons are 4.

Yeah this whole operation is the reason I cringe/facepalm at people saying stuff like
Oh Marcus doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who'd kill people, oh where is horatio in all the cut scenes? Like... c'mon people, play the game before thinking you know a character.

Game is definitely growing on me and a pretty nice game. Once I got in the gameplay loop and got a few upgrades it's a nicely addictive gorgeous city world to get lost in and continually find neat things to do whether it's collectables, photo spots or side missions. I'm not doing any of the main game stuff at all, so no combat or annoying checkpoints or anything, just exploring doing side missions and collectibles while listening to a great, great soundtrack and chilling and taking it all immersion in at my own pace and it's a nice experience. I've even gotten the hang of driving since I'm driving a lot slower now like normal driving speed and it's perfectly controllable. On-foot I've gotten used to as well, but running on L3 is still junk.

I definitely like the small sized bits of emergent gameplay like those little red areas guarding a research box or two. Can come up with all kinds of creative solutions to get in and out.

My favorite unlock was the crane elevator cars. Standing on them and then lifting them up 2-3 stories high and driving around really brings out the vertical movement of the city since you can just climb right onto lots of rooftops. I like the jumper car too, has some fun implementations.

But yeah, great soundtrack.

[XB1/PS4] [Performance] Graphics / Low FPS / Nudle - Framerate during the “Limp Nudle” mission has been improved
[PS4] [Performance] Graphics / Low FPS / PRO - PS4 Pro performance should be improved with this patch

Alright I just put 3 more hours into it, the attention to details in this game is absolutely amazing. I live in SF and the rendition of the city is just perfect.

  • I drove a Google shuttle,
  • I drove a Tesla, ran into a wall, there was no motor in front.
  • I was listening to the radio, they were talking about the drought.
  • I went to Dolores Park and the Ferry building.
  • Spoiler mission ~5 hours into it:
They have a frickin' part at burning man haha. This was crazy.

I can't stop laughing playing this game.

Good morning people.

I have done a stress test with patch 1.04 installed on the PS4 Pro, and from my short time with the game this morning I can confirm that it runs much better during the night now. I didn't come across a single screen tear or slow down.

I'm in the middle of uploading a video, once it's finished I'll post it here.

What HUD elements can I feasibly turn off? Also, is there a way to turn off the blue indicators on the road giving you directions? I find that very annoying!

That's great news. Keep us posted. I know its just gone live but I can't find reactions to this patch on neogaf or the internet anywhere.
