Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

Yep I had to search online on why they took him.

Also need more missions
where we play as her.
(mission spoiler)

Not using names on purpose.

started this last night, and maybe its from playing a bunch of good stealth games this year, but the stealth here + level designs isn't amazing, and the checkpoint system is super brutal.

took me like 5 tries to beat that steal data from that not-scientology church, in which I keep messing up at the end when waiting for the data to download.

I assume it gets easier when you get more tools, but so far... its not amazing. The harsh checkpointing also kinda forces me to take way less risks, which kinda makes my playstyle a bit dull.

What are some good early game tips, upgrades worth getting?

The quadracopter.

The frustrations do ease off a bit once you've got that, until the end (where I am now and loathing every second). Melee is frustrating for me - it's a nice animation, but you have to wait for it to play out before your next move, which can lead to getting spotted or shot at. It's ruined a few runs for me.

For those who have finished the game:

Did anyone else feel like after Horatio was killed, that he was put into the game at a later time specifically for that purpose? He wasn't involved in most of the game until the Nudle part and then he's kidnapped. It just felt like he was shoehorned in for that role as you really don't interact with him at all.

Also on the ending, I think the game could have used the other characters much more throughout the game. While I thought it was cool getting to use two of the others at the end, they easily could have explored this more throughout the game, or even pulled a GTA V and let you play as multiple people, doing different things in different locations to pull off hacks.

Yup, in my award winning, highly popular thread about the characters *SPOILERS IN THREAD* http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1319736 I said
Horatio was the biggest missed opportunity as he is a decent character in that Nudle mission, but then he just vanishes for a while.

The combat doesn't really get better, especially if you're trying to go stealth. They have these situations where you hack something and then all of a sudden everyone is alerted to it and you have to hold a position with 10 guys all shooting at you. Even if you weren't trying to kill everyone, it would still suck. Your best bet is to get the upgrades for the mass disruptions. It doesn't matter the situation, if you send the one out where it notifies their phone, even if they're shooting at you, they will stop and look at the phone. It's ridiculous, but it works. I would send the phone alert to them and then shoot them with the stun gun. Basically repeating that until I had a room of unconscious dudes. It's really stupid.

Also for any situation you can, use the RC car to reach any of the hack points that Marcus doesn't have to be at. Will save you a lot of hassle.

This final mission serves only to highlight the games flaws, especially in combat.

What's the point of a stealth system if you can be spotted from the other side of the room, through objects and somehow immediately trigger the attention of every respawning (via endless 'reinforcements') enemy in the game?

What is the point of the cover system if you a) NEVER stick to the wall you were aiming for and b) get shot through walls anyway?

Aggggh.

Nearly there.

That final mission I literally would send out the mass phone interference and sprint to the next objective, both for getting into the underground part and getting out. Use the car to hack the points to unlock it too. I wouldn't recommend sneaking around that area as there's simply too many people.

I like the game, but holy fuck the cops are like a joke. They swarm you and know exactly where you are at all times. Plus, the helicopter lady shouting is incredibly annoying.

Yeah – during one of the early missions when you steal the “KITT” car had a terrible time with the cops since I didn’t have many skills and none to effectively get away from the police. I finally went off road and got the yellow searching symbol – so I just stopped in the middle of a field with the chopper light on me and when I spun the camera around there was a police car crashed out right behind me. I ended up losing them and even bumped into the police car as I was getting back on the road. So now – I just go cross country and lose them easily enough. And yes – they lady in scream to pull over every 5 seconds is sooo annoying…

so I should go for the quadcopter asap. It is quite pricey though, I assume you can make enough money from story stuff?

Some people have big bank accounts to take from. When you are on foot you should really take money from anyone in your path that you can. When you get into a car you will automatically loot it. Those items can be sold at a pawn shop. Most importantly, those cash bags (the larger icons are what you want) will give you a big boost in cash and let you buy stuff easily. I had all the weapons and tools I wanted to buy pretty quick.

I feel like Watch_Dogs 2 open world is a lot more fun then GTAV, its a lot to do in GTAV but a lot of the stuff is not as fun. Now GTAV does have full open world online tho.

hmmm so I probably should get that unlock to find dudes with fat wallets.

yeah i gameovered once because i got cornered in an alley.

At some point after I realized when you hide in your car, the helicopter can't find you (after they lose sight), that made it easier.

Think this game still suffers from the same issue I had in w_d1, in which its not always obvious if you can climb a certain ledge. They really should have just made it more obvious with hand holds like in AC games.

Is there any consequences for killing people in this game? I recall wd1 had some kind of good/bad system that ultimately did nothing, and I ended up just killing everyone because of how OP that slowmo system was (is that back?).

Nope. I tried to avoid it as I felt like it didn't really fit the story or the character. No to the slowmo either. Kinda wish the game didn't have normal guns for you to use and that they had toned down the enemy characters a bit and made stealth better. The melee having you straight up murder whoever you attack is kinda awkward too.

The way you run from the cops is different than most open world games. Once you put some distance between them duck into an alley or parking garage and into a parking spot. Then turn off the car and the lights. Your detection circle becomes smaller and they won't see you or will drive right by you if they don't enter the circle.

I would recommend to anyone starting to collect as many research points either through exploration or side missions. Most of the side missions aren’t difficult at all (i.e. not many police chases or going into an enemy areas). Also be on the lookout for unguarded money bags – there are several just sitting out there with 10-20K (I remember one in a parking garage in SF where all you had to do was crash a car into the fence it was behind) in order to get the quadcopter. The game really opens up and becomes much more fun with skill unlocks. I stopped mains after the KITT “steal the car” mission and ran sides and had well over a million followers by the time I started up with the main missions.

This is exactly what I did. After that mission, I didn't do a single main mission until I had done all the side missions, found almost all the research points in the world and all the key data. Certainly makes the main missions better when you have almost everything unlocked.

oh yeah, i guess its kinda weird that melee just straight up 'kills' dudes, concussions are no joke!

Guess its for gameplay balancing, but its still pretty weird.

Main game done. Had good fun overall but didn't enjoy the last mission at all.

Just need the two elusive online trophies - the Dedsec missions (three more needed but they're not spawning) and the five bounty kills (I just got another one and successfully escaped, got the followers for a neutralization... then check Club Ubi and it's still set at zero. Ffs, Ubisoft - releasing a game without one glitched trophy once in a while wouldn't hurt, would it??).

Anyone got any tips to make the Deadsec events spawn?

these police are insane. i thought the GTA V ones were bad lol. what makes it even more annoying is that woman in the helicopter shouting her head off. stfu please.

really wish melee was quicker lol. balance sure, but its still sad how MGS5 is still the only stealth game with a robust fun melee system.

Quadcopter

Call hits and/or police

Mass disruption

Regular disruption

RC car

Bigger range on stun gun

And most importantly, just focus on side activities to start with. They're just as good as main content and will arm you sufficiently. The game gets better hour on hour as you learn tools and tricks.

Just pretend they're sleeping.

A dev literally said this apparently, haha.

where do you find side stuff? I did the ubisoft and zombie one. Don't remember how i found them? Think they were just random npcs that had some icon on them.

Oooooooh...

I was doing Bounty Hunter all wrong - I was being the target, not hunting for one. D'oh.

Lol it happens. Luckily I got the trophy I wanted after being the target twice. Blew up someone's char and then turned back and ran them over.

First guy got me

It's through random NPC with that icon or some will be called in I think. Best bet is to turn on hacker vision every now and then and see the people with the missions

Wandering around you will see little orange icons pop up on your map. Go to them and hack their phone, or talk to them depending on what it is, and it will give you a new mission. Most of the side missions just randomly pop up this way.

In the Dedsec App some missions are labelled "Main" and some are "Side". You unlock more side content by finding Orange Icon "informants" around the world.

I'm also referring to the ScoutX and Driver SF apps which are a lot of fun and also net you plenty of easy experience.

The game would have been even better with gang hideouts, random vigilante missions, car races and mini games.
I miss the drinking game from WD1.

Hey look man, they're just pummeled into a coma, that's all. A fate worse than death, according to many. But hey, my conscience is clean.

Now who's up for making a troll video of some dude falling over or something, that should get us some lulz and some followers or something.

I think the little enemy hotspots are almost as good as the first game's gang hideouts.

This also does have car races iirc.

Finally got my account to easily upload to YT again, been meaning to share this. I wonder if it's dumb luck that I got all 3 trucks in one go, or if more people got it this easy.

I loved the 911 mission.

That was a really great mission. I didn't get all 3 trucks like that. They didn't cluster like that for me. In fact, one of them never even drove into the compound.

3 bounty kills down but... my god is this taking forever to find players.

Plus I haven't had a deadsec event pop up in over an hour.

Determined to put this platinum to bed before I go to bed though...

Is it possible to drag bodies? Some guards are annoyingly placed and since I haven't figured out how to move them (on PC) they get left wide in open and patrolling guards see the bodies.

No dragging bodies. Best case scenario is using a body that is in sight as a trap for someone who comes over

this game seems to actively dis-encourage any interactions with npcs if you want to stealth.

I notice other npcs's walk cycles change if you knock someone out in which they will eventually find them.

I have yet to find any of the bounty events, it always searching

Agggggh.

The past two bounty hunts have credited my kills elsewhere.

First one - shot target point blank. He fell into the sea. "Accidental death"
Second one - I drove my bike into him, then when he stood up I gave him the yo yo attack and took him out... only for the game to credit the police with the kill. The police were nowhere near the target.

I thought for sure the PC version would either fix or make the empty streets I've seen on consoles better...it didn't. How is anyone supposed to hide in a hacking invasion when the streets are empty?
